  • This trailer definately caught my attention. Now this is one of my favourite shows.

  • One word, EPIC!!!

  • Yay Armstrongs big sister is on the cover

  • Why do you guys keep comparing the two? The only thing the old FMA had was nostalgia. Brotherhood is better by far in every way.

  • @tjb98003 What makes BH great? The only thing for me that brotherhood brings is the action in the animation, but designs are irritable.

  • @Dattebayo04 The character designs are from the manga. And everything was great. The story, plot twists, characters, etc.

  • Comment removed

  • @tjb98003 If you say so. Still wish they just kept the same designs.

  • @Dattebayo04 You seen the whole series?

  • @tjb98003 Yes, I have.

  • @Dattebayo04 What did you think?

  • @tjb98003 Well, when comparing BH to the original anime, BH was VERY climatic. It just goes to show you that the 2003 held back on the action and abilities of characters like Dante and Bradley. However, I found the designing and animation in BH disturbing. As well as the music. I loved the original FMA, but FMAB is just so different and odd to me. That's bc of BH's style. I think the old FMA would've done better telling the manga's story than Brotherhood. So I can't say I like BH better

  • "I was literally blown away: says one reviewer. I highly doubt he was "literally blown away" Figuratively maybe, but should he even be a critic if he can't tell the difference?

  • Funimation supposedly makes all the scores for their trailers and only for their trailers.

  • What is this epic music in this trailer???

  • all fma episodes are awesome number 1 on my top 5 annimes awesome part , thumbs up if you agree

  • When it comes to anime trailers, Funimation's are always the best.

  • @VictorKane115 Funimation are the best at everything.

  • If only Viz Media were this awesome 4 anime trailers and stop being expensive pricks nowadays, especially with manga. This is why I sometimes like Funimation more even though they only sell anime

  • brotherhood ish better because it sticks to the manga :P the first was just waaay off :P

  • @Flowereypanda That's because only a 3rd of the manga existed when the first FMA aired. Besides, the first FMA is one of those animes that's better than the manga.

  • @Dattebayo04 I have never seen an anime that has a different story then the manga its based on be better then manga

  • @petplatypus Yeah.... well I guess you should keep looking?

  • where can i watch Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood part 3 plz respond i must find it

  • Father's english voice actor is the same as Akesame in Kenichi ^^ I just noticed. Fail.

  • What's with Hoemheim (sp?) talking with the Dwarf in the Flask at 1:01???? I don't remember THAT being in the manga....

When will this be available on Netflix's play instantly?

  • @princessthyemis Minor Spoiler!!!! It wasn't the Dwarf in the Flask it was just Hohenhiem having an inner dialogue with the people he's encountered in his past. You even get to see what Pinako looked like when she was younger

  • I think that's episode 27, but I'm not 100% sure.

Also, there's nothing wrong with liking the original series better. Plot-wise, it is less well constructed, I will admit, but the ideas expressed and the thought-provoking aspect... Personally, the first series resonated with me more. Even if it doesn't follow the manga, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it.

Also, Greed's death in the original was much better. As was Hughes'.

  • which episode was 0:57 to 1:04?

  • one of the good things about Brotherhood is that Envy acually looks like a guy.

  • whats the most epic moment/episode

  • @gohanluigi123 once again, there are reasons, there just so blatantly obvious that if you can't see them your blind. Learn. To. Read.

  • @gohanluigi123 i shoudln't have to give reasons. Thats like someone asking for an explanation as to why Two Worlds is a bad game, or why X-men Origins Wolverine was a bad movie. It's completely obvious too everyone. If you think that Bleach has a good english dub than you really can't be helped. This conversation can't go anywhere. Im done.

  • Watever guys, I haven't watched the show in 4 years. Doesn't make me like it anymore.I bet I'm the only one who has the entire series on dvd too. Anyway, if I could post links here, I would. There are sites with complete in depth descriptions of plot holes. Btw in alchemy in the original fma, its a person's soul, not body that is used to perform alchemy, which they use to explain how al can do it. Even with 2 human limbs, how can a humunculus use alchemy? It's the soul aspect that prevents em.

  • @sonicx2218 The reason why Homunculus can't use alchemy, was because they came directly from the gate to replace the people who were meant to be brought back. Hohemheim explained something like that. And i'm pretty sure the homunculus in the show did have souls. It was only the homunculus legend that stated that homunculus did not have souls. Like homunculus Nina. However the others like Lust and Envy aren't that kind of homunculus that were simply just created. Ed didn't know that until told.

  • @Dattebayo04 Nina became a chimera, not a homunculus

  • @sifsclubber (SPOILER) No, in the original anime, Tucker wasn't killed by Scar. Scar killed Nina as a chimera though. But Tucker was arrested and got the death sentence. Except the death sentence was a conspiracy. Instead he was secretly transmuted into a chimera and sent to work in Lab five. Because of his skills in making chimeras that can talk and think like humans, his task was making more out of the prisoners. The define of a homunculus is an artificial human,so he tried to recreate Nina.

  • @Dattebayo04 Yes I know all that. I saw the whole thing(would be disappointed if I didn't by now). But he couldn't get the soul and he wanted Al and Sloth and then Lust dies(sob). But Nina became a chimera, not homunculus. At least in Brotherhood Mustang killed her, although it was a bit early for me(sob)

  • @sifsclubber Yeah, but I actually liked lust in the original. One of my fave homunculus. In the first anime, all the antagonist had reasons for their own deeds, so they weren't evil really except Envy and Pride, and Dante. Lust was pure evil in Brotherhood so I guess it enjoys people to see her get burned up.

  • @Dattebayo04 I like Lust however she is. Mein Gott! What kind of sick people would enjoy that!?

  • @sifsclubber I don't know. People said they enjoyed watching Lust being burned up by Mustang. Ssd cause she was likeable in the first series. Even sadder when Gluttony cried out her name when she was being eaten by Pride.

  • @Dattebayo04 SERIOUSLY!? YOU PEOPLE ARE FUCKED UP!? No but seeeeisupdough. That's wrong. But I do love hearing travis and laura talk about it. She's always likable to me. Yes I hate pride he's a fat bastard. I can take solace in the fact that Kimblee will cost him that one cheat in the future(Kimblee is beast)

  • @sifsclubber Yeah

  • @gohanluigi123 Bleach? This conversation's over. You just successfully proved my point.

  • @gohanluigi123 anyway since you find them so abundant, why don't you name a few "good english dubs" for me

  • @gohanluigi123 for one thing, your telling me you can actually stand the new al?

  • @gohanluigi123 nope, first series has a great english dub. As does Midori Days. Sorry to kill your little theory. Also "many others" means who exactly? Don't bring everyone down to your level of intelligence please. Im sure there are plenty of other people who can objectively judge voice acting for what it's worth.

  • @gohanluigi123 its kind of obvious.... not really something i can explain... I envy your inability to see it though

  • @gohanluigi123

To Be completely honest..I cant fit my full comments, so I've had to severely compress what i've been trying to say. Its too hard to explain things as best as I can here. So let's just end it here, I cant make a valid argument. Anyway, I meant Hohenheim's kid. He shouldn't look like a young hoenheim, because when Hohenheim had Envy, he was in a different body, thus envy could not look anything like the current Hohenheim. Unless it was a fake disguise to throw ed off

  • @gohanluigi123 And finally, let's not disremember the HUGE buildup that the anime was leading up to in regards to an all-out war between Amestris and all of its neighbors due to Fuhrer Bradley's menacing intentions. This was a major plot point that was built up over the course of 10 episodes to the point where it became something of a powder keg with a two-inch fuse. The situation was really tense, death and destruction were about to reign supreme, and Then nothing. The plot point just disappeared

  • @gohanluigi123

Hmm alright. Archer Becomes a Half Cyborg, Which is extremely futuristic and basically doesnt fit in with the rest of the show's setting. Also Envy shows to Ed (his supposed true face) in their showdown is basically that of a young Hohenheim, when timeline-wise the Hohenheim that we know didn't have that body when Envy was originally born.Take Lust and her reaction to her remains and compare that to Greed and Pride's. Also Wrath's ability to perform alchemy is never explained

  • @sonicx2218 It was explained. Wrath has a human arm and leg, which are Ed's. Wrath stole them from the gate, so he can use alchemy. And how come the homunculi can't use alchemy in this series? Anyway, Archer is half automail, not a cyborg. I saw something in one of the game series where an antagonist had full body automail, so why not have half? Lust reaction wasn't different from the others. And the original Hoehenheim looks like Father as you saw in Dante's flashback. There, holes filled.

  • @gohanluigi123

Ok, there are other holes, but I guess what ur saying makes sense

  • @gohanluigi123

Marcoh stated that 13 years ago, an unknown officer shot an Ishbalan thus causing the war. it is later revealed that Juliet Douglas was the said officer. Douglas is later revealed to be Sloth, the failed reviving of Ed's mom. im positive that it was 4yrs ago that Ed lost his limbs trying to revive his mom, thus resulting in Sloth(aka Juliet Douglas). if this was 4yrs ago, how come Douglas was involved in the Ishbal massacre(13yrs ago)??

  • @sonicx2218 No, the real Juliet Douglass died. Sloth just stole her identity has aided by Pride. She became the furher's secretary after that. All of the plot holes you mention come from you not pay good enough attention. As explained in my last comment.

  • Let's not forget Brotherhood's story jumps around from one character to the next like an epileptic reindeer.

  • Boo The first one was better though I love these trailers. Bro-hood lacks the emotion and character development of the first. Also I prefer the character designs, background art, and music of the orig.

  • Selim's voice actor = Black Star?

  • I get chills whenever I watch this...the clips, the music...Gah! It's amazing!!!! : ) I love Fullmetal Alchemist, but Brotherhood is my favorite anime of all time!!!! This trailer makes me want to watch part 3 again!!!!! I can't wait to see the ending too!!!!! : D

Oh, and does anyway know how to get the music to this? It's awesome and I want it!!!! : )

  • -_- any idea when this is gonna be on netflix?... D:

  • i love these trailers :) and 0:20 - 0:32 reminded me of mind heist a little bit lol....bwwaooomm...

  • This sounds like a trailer made from toonami.

  • Bleh. i like it better in japanese with subtitles. i acctually never saw the original...maybe i should?

  • @thewolfkingskeeper The original is kinda cute in the beggining, but the farther you go the less sense it makes. It's not crazy in a good way, just crazy. :)

You should totally see if you like it!

  • @thewolfkingskeeper yes yes yes yes u NEED to see the original!

  • @thewolfkingskeeper just watched the new series form start to finish.

it was good but i found that the first version was better. The idea is different and to me was far more interesting and mind blowing.

    give it a try =D

  • @DreamSerumProd Yes I think that the first FMA anime was the best out of all animes, and even top critics say the same. Brotherhood wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for the 2003 one.

  • @Dattebayo04 Great minds think alike!

  • @Dattebayo04 Um, that's kinda a ridiculous claim, since the 2003 version wouldn't have existed without the MANGA story. Basically the first 25 eps or so of the first series were all taken from the Manga story (more or less). And Brotherhood is based entirely ON the original Manga story, from beginning to end.

So none of FMA would exist without the original Manga version, not the 2003 version.

  • @cbrownjc Find, FMA eouldn't exist without the manga, and Brotherhood wouldn't existed if not for the first series. Now think of it. There is a reason why there are two FMAs.

  • @Dattebayo04 It would, actually. The first Fullmetal Alchemist stuff was a manga and Brotherhood follows that story.

  • @sifsclubber Exactly. 2003 anime or not, sooner or later someone would have adapted the *full* Manga story into an anime, which is what the Brotherhood version is.

Not that I don't love the first 2003 version. I do. Loving it is what got me to read the Manga in the first place, and falling in love with that version above everything. Brotherhood isn't perfect (and neither if the 2003 version either IMO), but w/Brotherhood I finally got to see things from the Manga that I love in anime form.

  • @Dattebayo04 . . .there are two FMA animes because they decided to finally tell the full Manga story in anime form, after the story finally got far enough along to do so (where they wouldn't have to change anything anymore, like the did with the first series).

Someone would have done an anime that followed the Manga story in full sooner or later, even if the first anime version had never been made. *That* is really the main reason Brotherhood was made.

  • @cbrownjc Exactly. If the manga was a faster, than the original anime would have followed the man's plot, thus defeating BH's point of being made. Well.... yeah... There's two fmas because of that ad stuff. But it was actually planned sense the first fma broke off. That's why the first anime was suppose to have the exact opposite climax.

  • @Dattebayo04 Well, what that would actually mean - if the first FAM had followed the Manga plot till the end - it would have just *been* Brotherhood. All the original/filler/plot change stuff would have never existed. (Such as Wrath being Izumi's kid, and Sloth being Ed and Al's mom).

The 2003 version wasn't planned from day one to have a different climax. They just broke off after a specific point and checked with the Manga author to make sure the changes still fit her world and were okay.

  • @cbrownjc I know that. It would be different. Notice how Brotherhood follows the manga panel from panel. When the original anime followed the manga, it still added more details, and drama to it. For example Nina, and Hughes was in the show longer, and Ed and Al actually knew him for four years, instead of just meeting him. They even added more to the Liore story and how Ed became a state alchemist. So if FMA did the whole manga plot, it would have added more motion picture to it.

  • @Dattebayo04 One of the things I did like about the first series were how they knew Hughes for a few years before he was killed. The more fleshed out details like that from the first series were great.

But what Brotherhood excelled at because it followed more closely to the manga, was a tighter overall plot. After Hughes is killed, the story of his death and who's responsible just kinda fades. No one ever finds out Envy was responsible, and it's only used to up the angst of Ed and Al.

  • @Dattebayo04 (con't) They dragged out Ed and Al finding out about Hughes, and then? Nothing comes of it except them feeling sad and angry.

And Roy (who's my favorite character)? He vows to find out how killed his best friend - and then never does. His character even disappears for a long stretch after Hughes is killed. In contrast, in the manga and Brotherhood that was the start of Roy being fully tied into the overall plot and some of his best character development IMO.

  • @cbrownjc Well the first producers weren't supposed to do anything to close to how the manga was going to tell the story, or else the manga would lose suspense. Nevertheless;mustang had development. He promise Hughes that he one day become Fuhrer to change the country,so he forced himself not to follow on the path of revenge because it would ruin everything. In the end he gave up that promise realizing that the only right thing to is to kill Bradley, thus throwing his dreams away. That's reality

  • @Dattebayo04 Bringing someone to justice and just looking for revenge are not the same thing - which was actually touched on in the second version in Roy's confrontation with Envy. Having him try and bring justice to Hughes' death wouldn't have gone against his dreams or necessarily been a destructive path. As the second series actually showed.

His confrontation with Bradley? Had nothing to do with Hughes. Not really. And the only punishment Roy got for killing Bradley was his own choosing.

  • @cbrownjc His confrontation with Bradley did link up with Hughes. He even said so when Bradley had him pinned. The fact is,you can't come back in the ranks with a tag that labels you an assassin. By bringing down Bradley, all the chaos that destroyed nations and Hughes' life would be resolved, and a piece of mind restored, with the sacrifice of becoming fuhrer. But yeah,if FMA had the whole manga plot,it would of fleshed out more. Now,the dangling plots in the second season of FMA, what were they?

  • @Dattebayo04 The only dangling plots in Brotherhood, IMO, were only minor character-relationship beats with minor characters (such as Kimblee's Chimeras). The final plot wrap ups were much tighter, and all the main characters all were given proper endings to their arcs as the story that was being told went.

I felt much more satisfied at the end of the Manga and Brotherhood than I did after the 2003 version and movie. (Ed and Al were the only two I felt satisfied with the wrap-up for).

  • @cbrownjc Yeah ok.

  • @Dattebayo04 I'm not hating on the 2003 series. As I said, if it wasn't for that series I never would have discovered FMA at all, and then actually read the Manga. And as far as the beginning of both anime series go, I think the 2003 version does a lot better than Brotherhood in that regard, especially in fleshing out some of the characters like Hughes, Nina and Tucker.

But, even before reading the manga, I though things really dropped off after Hughes' death, with dangling plots left open.

  • @DreamSerumProd this version is actually based on the manga the first one was a created by funimation with little relation to the manga.

  • @shamil1998 yeah i know. the first one caught up to the mango and could have waited to continue or make up their own storyline. and lets not give funimation too much credit, they just do voices! I found the first version to be more interesting with its mind blowing ending, although i was quite young when i saw it.

  • @shamil1998 hahah not mango...manga. and I should correct myself, funimation handles voices and the release of the videos in america, they do not animate the series

  • @DreamSerumProd

everyone likes the first thing they see. fanboys...

  • @JAWNH18 FANBOY FANBOY! what are you like 3? I liked brotherhood, but not as much as the first version. grow up. People have different views than you.

  • @DreamSerumProd

yeah so you like an inferior version that took the ideas of the original and made it worse around the middle...

    Fine by me..

  • @JAWNH18 Heres the thing, you just called me a fanboy as if it would be a bad thing. And yet you are acting like one yourself. I thoroughly enjoyed brotherhood, but for me the idea that came from the first version was better. "FOR ME". Its obvious that you liked the other version more and you are entitled to that opinion. This conversation is totally pointless because it is made up of ME giving you facts, and YOU trying to bring me down because what I liked was different than what you did.

  • @JAWNH18 Yeah ,pretty much. FMA 2003 was the best anime ever! I enjoyed that more than Brotherhood.

  • @Dattebayo04

well you have bad taste since it was just stuff that didnt make sense put together.

  • @JAWNH18 It's great taste. It was like the #1 anime. Alot of people said so. Even Vic Magnonia. He said that he worked on 60 other anime and yet FMA was his favorite. It doesn't make sense to you because you don't understand it. I understand all the logic in 2003 It's sci fi, not a pure fantasy. You have to pay attention to understand. Some of the logic in brotherhood is where I need to get into.

  • @Dattebayo04

you have to understand that brotherhood is the complete work of the author.

the first episodes are really good in the 2003 and thats because it came from the original author. Everything makes more sense in brotherhood,

fma 2003 is no longer number one since brotherhood is here,

  • @JAWNH18 Well things in Brotherhood makes sense to you,not so much to me. I've grown so much to the old FMA that I understand all the logic in it. Some of the things in brotherhood are impossible in the old FMA. Brotherhood seems to be more on the fantasy side. Anyway,FMA is old and I wouldn't expect it to hold the place of being #1 anime forever. But for me and a whole lot of critics said "FMA is one of, if not; the greatest anime ever! FMA is my still my fave! As for BH, that'll take some time

  • @Dattebayo04 FMA (2003) gets points for character development and story but there many things in FMA story that I just didn't follow. One example is the is the motivation for Dante just wasn't there. I mean for someone with such a complex as her you would think she would have a better reason for wanting to acquire the stone than for just immortality. Someone as egotistical as her would want to be acknowledged for their power but she stays in the shadows?

  • Another thing is that the Military was very unaware of the plot involved which just isn't realistic. For something as big as manipulating entire populations to become ingredients for the stone you would think the Senior Staff and many other in the military would know. But some how Dante and 4 Homunculi (Sloth and Wrath joined in late) by their lonesome is able to do that. To manipulate entire nations with just 5 people in the shadows just doesn't make sense.

  • @TheViceIT Those are good points, but I can understand Dante's reasons for hiding. She could be defeated like any other human, she not invincible, and she doesn't like people anyway. She would be a hypocrite if she so arrogant that she wanted to be known. She hated people like that and she was proud and thought highly of herself to contain something as powerful as the stone and not use it like the rest of typical mankind.

  • @TheViceIT Speaking of the stone, you have to admit, the stone's depiction in the first series is much more deadlier than it was in Brotherhood. Probably because the first series stayed true to the whole searching for the stone plot. The protagonist and antagonist were after the stone in the first series, but everyone and their grandma seemed to have one in brotherhood. You'd think Ed and Al could just ask for one. I know they refused and everything, but wouldn't they be helping by freeing souls

  • @Dattebayo04 It is true that they added a more mysterious element to the philosphers stone in FMA (2003) but the central focus in Brotherhood is the uncovering of the conspiracy rather than the stones existence its self. The existence of the stone is very insignificant when an entire continent of Amestris is about to be wiped out. Dante flattened cities, Father is trying to flatten an entire continent then "God". Both FMA's are great and deserve equal recognition in my opinion.

  • @TheViceIT Yeah true.

  • @TheViceIT Actually they did that on purpose. They didn't want it to feel like the old anime so they rushed through a lot of stuff which is why it feels weird.

  • @DreamSerumProd

every character in brotherhood would kick the ass of their counterpart in the other fma. Thats's how badass brotherhood is.

  • @JAWNH18 Yup I agree ^^ Brotherhood is really good!

  • Briggs!

  • The Brotherhood owns all.

  • I love this show the first full metal was aight I watched the entire series and the movie on Netflix but brotherhood is way better to me I can't wait for the full metal alchemist brotherhood movie

  • YES!!! FINNALY!!!!!!!!

  • I love this show anyone who says it lacks emotion clearly did not get to far into the series I can name many moments that not only made me cry but just made my jaw drop in awe like when Ed punches through the gate. The original suffered from it's structure in too many filler plots in episodes instead of developing dante and hoienhiem. Also I felt that I was getting hit in the head as they hammered Lust's character while not letting Ed grow, he doesn't change very much but this show has it all.

  • @blackdove123 some people i talked to only got to ep 5 and assumed it was exactly like the first. brotherhood is so much more badass and we get the most epic bad guy eva! father is so amazing! WATCH ALL 64 EPS OF BROTHERHOOD PEOPLE! IT PWNS THE 2003 SERIES!

  • try telling dat to chuck norris pal

  • i know this just came out but......when does the next season come out!!!

i bought this and it was so intense!!! the next season should also contain 13 episodes...and those episodes from what i read, r gonna be badass!!!!

i dont wanna watch them until it comes out on dvd! in english!

so...when does the next season come out!!! i must know!!!!!! XD

  • @91akatsuki part 4 will come out on march 29 amazon.com has already released the cover for it this part will contain 12 episodes because it will run 300 mins part 5(the last part) will contained the last 13 episodes since brotherhood only has 64 episodes..hoped it helped

  • @EMAK2300 oooooh thank you! thank you very much!!! i love you!!!

but...its too long of a wait T_T...oh maaaan...

  • @91akatsuki i know man nothing else but to wait i for one i already preorded my copy of part 4 on blu ray and looking forward for it to be my collection

  • @EMAK2300 Actually, it's coming out April 5th, Funimation just released the trailer for it.

  • @Xam465 i know already i recieved a email from amazon a few days ago with the change of release date since i preordered it there..when i posted my comment it stated to come out mar 29..nice i can you send me the link for the trailer?

  • Brotherhood is going to be somewhat sad when it ends I read the manga

  • I SAW THE NEW EPISODE ON ADULT SWIM AHHHH IT HAD SOME PARTS FROM THIS TRAILER (when father is talking and all that stuff...)

  • Does anybody know the song that play during this video ?

  • @KoolCartoons same here if you find it can you tell me

  • God some of these scenes r disturbing

  • What the song playing?

  • can i have the name to this song please? D:

  • So epic it's imposable to find on utube and DVD only on Netflix and my dad won't get it for me because we have the cheapest package

  • I just got this DVD. Love Olivier's voice. She seems even more badass in English.

  • hey I got that one on dvd already thanks

  • OLIVIER'S VOICE IS KICK ASS!!

  • Father's voice sounds KICK ASS!

  • @MrFlavorcrayon I read somewhere that Aaron Dismuke (sp?), who played Al in the original series, is the one who plays Father or Hoenhiem(sp?) in Brotherhood.

  • @Daren453 Yeah he plays the younger version of Hohenheim.

  • Does anyone know the song playing in the trailer?

  • IWANTITIWANTITIWANTITIWANTIT!!!!!!!!!

  • Al.....is so skinny e.e

  • FMA Brotherhood is coming back on Adult Swim on the night of January 8th at 1 AM (technically January 9th)

  • @arnyjk You mean with more dubbed episodes?

  • @HamwithasideofHobos Yep! I even saw the promos on AS tonight.

  • wait so this isn't going to air on adultswim? anyways part 3 has been out for a while now ,i bet they decided to release it early so people could get it before christmas

  • @AsHeS2SweLL are you kidding me?!?!? nooooo i didnt put it on my christmas list cuz it was supposed to be released on the 28th! gaaah, that means i have to buy it myself -.-''

it will probably air on aswim later, the dvds of stuff is usually released before it's aired on aswim.

  • @LovinLifeNow23 jan 8th

  • @AsHeS2SweLL yes it is.

  • I WANNA HEAR SLOTH IN ENGLISH!!! WHAT A BOTHER!!! XD

    meowgirlX3

  • I would be watching, FUNimation, if you would release the freaking season already!!!

  • I love how Olivier is on the cover. :D gives a sense of epic badassery.

  • heh no NO!!!! the old was a soap opera with a plot that had more holes than a cut of swiss cheese.. this one is better it is much more symbolic of our big bad world and whats inside the characters ar much more developed and the art is amazing. and ive seen the 2003 many times it was emotional but is tried to hard to be a dark pit of sadness. i found it boring and i cried much more in the brotherhood. and i perfer a happy ending than one with no resolution. just opinion! dont kill me! meowgirlX3

  • @ipad103 did you see the first movie? it fills the plot holes, however, it wasnt very good. they had enough story for 3 movies but they decided against it. =bad idea. when you have 3 movies worth, make 3 movies!

  • damm al needs to trim his nails

  • Emotions mean nothing if the plot contains many holes, and the show is deprived of everything except for those emotional moments. I liked the original very much, but once i saw brotherhood, I could see immediately that this was the style I preferred. I like war movies, but i also like things like lord of the rings. I felt this was a pretty amazing blend of both worlds. I prefer those much over a purely emotional fantasy. I still think the original is good. But I think brotherhood is the best :)

  • @sonicx2218 i know what u mean i liked the original but brotherhood is a whole different monster ands its amazing waiting on part 3 to get here

  • @sonicx2218 Brotherhood is the original while the other one is noncanon halfway through, but my sentaments exactly!

  • @sonicx2218 i like brotherhood, cant get over how shitty the english dub is though, thats one thing i think the firsr one holds over this one. The first one is one of the very few good english dubbed animes out there. With brotherhood i have to watch the japanese, which disapoints me a little. Brotherhood is better no doubt, but..... with the old series, i liked having something that still impressed people who weren't big on anime.

  • @CrappSlayer

I literally couldn't agree with you more. I've already watched it all subbed. I actually watched the entire original series dubbed. And never heard the jap version of fma until brotherhood. I have to listen to jap or else I can't really enjoy it as much. There's a few reasons for that, miscastings, and some bad scripts are most of it.

  • @sonicx2218 yea- alphonse being the biggest miscast, but even vics preformances just sound lacking this time around, especially his angry rants, dont know why. The only people i like are probably father, scar, and bradley- although he was from the first. Also their teacher doesnt pack the same punch, she just sounds corny/fake rather than pissed.

  • @sonicx2218 To me dub and sub are good but I prefer sub voices but dub makes me understand the show better. Nothing beats manga u can imagine how they sound like for urself

  • @sonicx2218 hells yes! i totally agree!

  • @sonicx2218 I beg differ; emotions mean volumes. Often the plot is meant JUST to give emotions, and if it's giving them, it's done its job. Not to mention, the plot wasn't that bad anyway :/ But yeah, both series are good :D

  • @sonicx2218 I respectfully disagree. For me, the first FMA was nothing BUT emotion. In fact, it was one of the most emotional anime I had ever watched and so it had a special place in my heart, & still does. For some reason I'm not experiencing that whilst watching Brotherhood, although I don't deny that it has an amazing storyline that's got me hooked. But to be fair, I'm only up to episode 39 in English. I've yet to finish the series, so maybe something will happen that will change my mind. =)

  • @sonicx2218 have you read the manga? oh so much better than both animes. while Brotherhood does a good job adapting the manga, it rushing through the beginning and giving us a filler when they could have made the Ishval arc a 2 part episode instead of cutting so much character development and introductions kinda hurt it's quality.

cutting some parts also left plot holes. if anyone reads just one volume of FMA, read volume 15. it can stand alone and it's the FULL Ishval flashback.

  • @Rika24

O man, yes I have. That is my one complaint with the anime. If u read the manga, u see some of the things that shouldn't of been shortened. Especially the ishval vol 15...that was my fav part of the entire manga. Also the drachma fight. But I still like it, If its not compared to the manga, its alot better, but even with those setbacks, i still think it's the best anime I've seen so far

  • @sonicx2218 edward the hobbit..

  • Lol, Funimation is trying to make Brotherhood look like the 2003 show, all full of angst and drama and philosophy. I like both shows just fine but this really makes me laugh.

  • @pratt123 I don't see how this trailer at all is trying to make it look like that crappy 2003 show,If anything the trailer looks epic which is what Brotherhood is and what the 2003 isn't.

  • i think i just came

  • Semi-good and semi-bad news:

The Blu-Ray release of Part 3 has been canceled due to a lack of sales from the previous two releases. However, it WILL be released on DVD, which is a hell of a lot better than it not being released at all.
