@mizkex He isn't in his children's movies, or in stuff like Alice in Wonderland that have a terrible script—and some films, like Sleepy Hollow or Batman, are not meant to be deep, they0're just fine adventure/horror movies. But I'd say films like Big Fish, or Ed Wood... they're great on so many levels, and every time you watch them you find things. You really have to see those two.
I hope you have seen Ed Wood, it could be his best.

Sure he casts his wife as lead, but it's because her style fits. Helena Bonham Carter is an amazing actress and loves playing a demented love interest. Johnny Depp keeps coming back because he loves doing the movies with Timmy.

@mizkex He isn't in his children's movies, or in stuff like Alice in Wonderland that have a terrible script—and some films, like Sleepy Hollow or Batman, are not meant to be deep, they0're just fine adventure/horror movies. But I'd say films like Big Fish, or Ed Wood... they're great on so many levels, and every time you watch them you find things. You really have to see those two.
I hope you have seen Ed Wood, it could be his best.

If you started watching a claymation flick called something like Carrion Farm that starred Johnny Depp, had Danny Elfman on music and had a super grey coloring to the thing, you're going be shocked to see "directed by Chad Jones" instead of "Tim Burton."
