I agree pinz32 .... Watching stuff like this reminds me how hard they rode in races seems like today's riders are racing on the limit but back in doohans and dunlops day they rode beyond the limit... Bike technology has come a long way the old 500 screamers must have been a handful ...

The best of the best. Doohan, Schwantz, Rainey. All 3 in their prime (and most of the top 10 500 riders of the late 80's early 90's for that matter) would have been able to ride the MotoGP bikes of today AND be race winners.

How many of todays riders would have been able to ride pre-bigbang 500s and get within 5 seconds of those guys.

Except maybe Rossi I would say none

Mitey Mick ------- The most relaxed morcycle racer of all time. Nothing phased him.

WIll we ever see the dicing from the years gone by ever again. It seems these guys were the Creme' Del a Creme' of the racing world.

It took a four cyclinder two stroke that seperated the men from the boys. All it ever wanted to do was kick the rider off the bike, lol.

Bikes today are to forgiving - maybe thats good just the same, but doesn't give the excitement of yester years racing..

Mick reminds me more of Lawson than anyone else, hardassed gunfighter type of chappie, would'ent let his mother beat him lol

Towards the end of the bigbang 500s he switched back to the screamer, just so Criville and the rest could'ent copy his setups, now thats a competitive nature, and of course he was far and away top of the class at the time.

Lawson and Doohan would give Rossi a very hard time imo...

@rlt417 Joey Dunlop was the greatest ROAD racer of all time. Doohan was the greatest CIRCUIT racer of his era and certainly one of the best of all time. I will agree that he was the last master of the Screamer 500 and for that alone I salute him

Doohan is the GOAT but in 1996 Crivi was Doohan's kriptonyte it's funny, actually this song I can see Crivi saying the same to Doohan, you've been thunderstruck!!! because in some point he was in 1996.
