  • I didn't find out about Kevin's death until 2010. It was mainly because I was watching a lot of Herc /xena episodes that I felt in my heart that he is still alive. He always knew how to put a smile in all our faces. RIP Kevin. Thank you for all the fun and the memories.

  • I remember when it was like yesterday that I think I was 5 that my mom took me to the live comedy show of Kevin smith for my birthday, I later got to meet him, he wished me a happy birthday and told me to never stop following you're dreams because one day it will come true :*|

You were right Kevin, dreams do come true, if you were here you would see how big of a star you are.

And now you're watching over the young actors/actress that follow in you're footsteps

If only you had a chance to see

  • that was wonderful, only knew him as ares so its so great to see all the other things he did.

  • True talents, does not need fame, people in Hollywood have fans, guys like KEVIN have followers...He will never be gone, not in our hearts!!!

    LORD PHOENIX!!!

  • Nicely put, I am, and always will be, a Kevin Smith follower!!

  • @reynaldomonterrey The God of war is finally home:)

  • Thank you, littlebitdirty, for posting this whole series. I enjoyed it through my sadness.

I met Kevin back at a Herc/Xena Convention in '99, and I got to ask him questions in front of the other fans. Plus, he acknowledged me on the sidewalk when we were just walking around. Later I shook his hand after he'd autographed an item for me. He was the first person I was really "star struck" about. All those wonderful things his friends and colleagues said, I believe to be true.

    We miss you, Kev.

  • I wish I had gotten to meet him. That must be a cherished memory.

  • Yes, most definitely. I got all chocked up and wanted to rush up and hug him after I'd asked my questions (about different ways to play the same character and also if they writers allowed him to improvise and trusted his take on Ares). I was too shy to ask because I thought that might be intrusive. But I can tell you that he was so charismatic and gosh-darn loveable that one of the lesbians there said he was enough to make all of them rethink their orientation. It was a funny moment.

  • I too first saw him play Ares in Xena: Warrior Princess, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Young Hercules. I was only 6 but I had such a little crush on him! I hadn't watched Xena for 8 years and just resently started watching it again. Now that I'm older, I can appreciate just how talented and kind Kevin was as a person, not just an actor. He was a family man: husband, father, and son. Even though I don't know him and have never met him, I feel as if I've known him all my life. I hope.......

  • ...that my statement of "knowing" him wouldn't offend his friends or family, because I know that I don't actually know him, especially the way they did. It's just that his work really did speak to me. It still does, and I think that's what (they said) he wanted it to do: speak to people on a deeper level. Draw out emotions>>>Make them laugh, cry, or even just get pissed off! The fact that he's gone makes life and death feel so much more real. It actually hurts to know he's not here....

  • I'm 19, and so I've got quite some time left. Yet he is and always will be my absolute, #1 favorite actor, no matter who arises during my lifetime. He was truly amazing, and I only wish I could have met him just once. I hope his family is doing well. I know it's been a long time since his death, but that doesn't mean anything when it's someone you love. "He hasn't gone." <- That really made me cry! And so did his picture at the end. Thank you so much 4 posting! Repeated 5 stars for all the vids.

  • cry cry cry

  • Why are people that are so loved and kind and amazing taken so quickly? I personally only knew him as Ares but even that made me fall in love with him. I think I was about 9 or 10 when I first saw him. He wasn't just a pretty face but he was funny, serious, and had amazing chemistry with others on the show. I didn't relize how wonderful of a man he was until I saw this. Had tears running down my face by the end. May your greatness never be forgotten Kevin. You will always be my Ares.

  • Here we go again... *crying*

Can't stop watching these clips...But I just can't help but cry everytime..

  • thanks for posting xo

  • Very moving. It's very sad that he died. I've just recently got back into the Xena Eps (on DVD) and his is a favorite charicter for me. I only just found out today that he died from watching the 2003 Xena convention.

His manager comments that 'He hasn't gone' towards the end of this clip...He is never really gone while he's in our hearts. RIP Kevin.

Thankyou littlebitdirty for posting this set of clips.

  • This was a very touching piece and even thou there is a slight buzzing sound on the audio, i couldn't stop watching it. He was a great man and i didn't even know he was such a great of an actor. Xena/herc open the doors to his acting for me and i am on the search now for his movie's that i have not seen.

  • For a 6'4" 250 Man that I am Pro wrestler and all I could not stop crying this entire 5 pt Tribute. What a beautiful man and loving person. Its not often we get a true Hero like this and I can't thank God enough for giving us this wonderful person.

  • ICAM!

  • Such an amazing person, a great influence, and a multi-telented person, you are truly missed, and i hope you rest in peace.

  • I watched the entire thing...and my tears came at the end with that last shot of him and his singing in the background. What a wonderful and beautiful human being. God bless your sweet soul, Kevin.

  • Thank you so much for posting this wonderful tribute. Indeed, what an amazing and talented person! Kevin, you will be missed by us all. God bless.

  • fantastic guy. truly missed. even by us all the way over here in the uk. its a shame it didnt mention his time on herc at all. he was an amazing man.

  • Not me. Hey if you do get your hands on it I would LOVE a copy!

  • does anybody have a video of kevin attending one of the xena/herc conventions... especially the one where kevin wore hudson's belly dancer costume...

  • Thanks so much for posting this! I was crying soo much at the end :( R.I.P Kevin :( x

  • Thank you sooo much. I never would have seen thisotherwise (and ya, it blows that the North american media didnt give him the coverage he deserved). And, again, I had nooo idea how well-rounded and talented he was. He is more deeply missed tan ever. R.I.P Kevin

  • /cry

  • Wonderful tribute to a caring and talented individual. Kevin Smith will always be missed.

  • What an amazing and talented person he was - I still can't believe he's no longer with us. As Ares in Xena, you hated and loved him at the same time. He brought such dimensions to his character. He is so missed.

  • Wow.. I had no idea he was so well rounded when it came to talent. I always enjoyed him as Ares on both Xena & Hercules - such a scene stealer. I also didn't know he was Australian.

  • He was from New Zealand, not Australia!!!

  • Whatever - either way the man had an accent and he hid it well on the show.

  • Yes another thanks for sharing.

Where did this air? I'm assuming not in the US since I never saw it.

So sad the US media didn't give him more attention he deseved it.

  • i agree with ladyvader139. i would have never been able to see these videos if u hadnt uploaded it. thank u so much.

    R.I.P Kevin.

  • thank you so much for uploading these videos. I'm sure I would never have seen it otherwise.

  • R.I.P Kevin. He'll always be remembered.
