Yo Jose, that fork IS made in China. Most Colnago's are made in China. Got it Taco breathe? The Japs make the best carbon forks. Repeat after me, Mizuno. Do not ever disparage made in China stuff again. If you buy their high quality products, they will be as good or better than anybody's except at a much lower price. A Wetback calling out Chinese products that utilizes "slave" labors is like "fill in the blanks".
A high quality dust mask might be a good idea to wear if this job is performed with any frequency. Especially if the fork is made with carbon nanotubes.

you should cut 2/3 way from one side and then 1/3 way from the other to avoid any outward pressure and risk of fraying on carbon fibres.
