I think I may have realized one of the reasons I love Sora and Kairi so much. They're just like Tidus and Yuna from FFX. I mean seriously, look at the similarites:

1) Tidus saves Yuna from Seymour/ Sora saves Kairi from Ansem.

2) When Tidus returns on FFX-2 he emerges from the ocean/ When Sora returns he does too.

3) Tidus says "I'm back" during that ending. On this ending, so does Sora.

4) Yuna says "Your home"/ Kairi says "You're back". Different yes, but still the same.

That's why they work.

i play this game through when it first comes out and it glitches the second time you go to alladin. Last year i decide to replay all my PS2 games because of all the great memories and buy this game off the internet. Get to the part after tron where you fight the water guy, went back on the game the next day and the disc had broke! I thought i would never get to see the ending!!!!

I gotta be honest. I loved KH1. And I loved KH2 when I first got it and started playing, but started hating it about halfway through. I FULLY ADMIT 100% that I am a simpleton of very little brain, but the plot got so convoluted and complicated I gave up on following it. About 40 hours in all I kept saying was "I just want him to go home and be with the girl. I don't care about the rest of this crap." This clip was all I wanted to see. Maybe I should've finished the GBA game first.

@Mattbuscus No, everybody that knew Sora forgot all about him, but Namine put his memory chain back together, and everybody remembered him. Also, everybody memory of Sora wasn't wiped (thats what 'i' say), they all just couldn't remember him. It kinda explains at the begging of Kingdom Hearts II and i think at the end of Chain of Memories for PS2 (I dont have the PS2 version and never did beat the GBA version). Does this help?

Because they were there at the time, meaning Ansem and Aqua could have went back into the Realm of Light but that's not how the KH games goes I guess :P

Plus KH3, I think it's suppose to be about saving Ventus, Aqua, and Terra. Wouldn't make much sense if Aqua is already saved when KH3 is released.
