i just got 2 budgies, 6 weeks old. after a couple of days, they are slowly getting used to my hand. (still a bit skittish, though.) your birds are adorable. how in the world did you get them to be so comfortable around you? were they scared at first too? how long did they take to bond with you like this?

@pyroprince78 she probably hand raised them, when they were little, she would probably hand feed them and they became really use to it. but a six week old budgie will take a lil more time to get tamed but dont worry i got a budgie at 6 weeks too and he loves my hand now

Nice birds, and sorry for Ezra, but you shouldn't let your birds in your sinks or tubes like that cuz the shampoo and soap chemicals can harm your bird really bad.

Hej, he/she should be no less than six weeks old and be able to feed on his own and should NOT be bought at a zoo shop, "I think", buy him from a breeder that know how to! And if possible let him fly free in the house, but keep all windows and doors shut!

I didn't "train" them, I have had them from when they were babies, so they are comfortable around me and not scared of humans. They are just curious animals so it was natural for them to explore the place.

The blue and white one I had for two years before buying the green one, but because I was working so much I needed to get him a companion for the day time...budgies live in flocks in the wild so they need companionship and if you're not able to give that then buy two. You can still train them from babies to not be afraid of you.

My budgie hates cold water. I would wonder why she always avoided it then I tried warm water and she absolutely loved it she tried to soak all her feathers in it. I would so happy I did something for her to be happy! Always supply/change 2-3 or more times a day fresh warm bathwater and dishwater.

Never, ever use soap on a budgie or any bird. It can kill them. The best you can do is provide them with a bowl or dish of water on a regular basis, perhaps in their cage, and they will bathe on their own. They can and do bathe year round. im pretty sure its okay to bathe budgies, in my bird books it tells you how to prepare bathes for them, even in a shallow dish if they are scared of the sink. It is natural for them to bath and they usually love it. (mine even has bath toys).

In the wild budgies are attracted to rivers and billabongs, so it is quite natural for them to bath, I don't bath them because they're quite fussy so I just run the water and let them choose if they wish to hop in or not - and I just use the cold water, in the Australian desert there are some pretty cold freshwater lakes and rivers which is a natural environment for budgies.

Ahh, my budgies does the samething! Some of their face turns out to look like a flower after bath. But you better not to do it in the cage because after a week, wet cages can bring some kind of nasty worms call mites. They harm budgies by letting their beak grow unnaturally longer and longer. =(
