Me and my brother always seemed to make our own background stories for video games. When we were playing through sonic the hedgehog, we came up with the story that Sonic's mom died when he was a baby, and he was going through to avenge her death. Level 3 of Sonic I was where we guessed the mom died in, and now I find that place the most depressing of all the sonic levels...

To me there was always something special about this level that none of the other sonic game could remake.

You start the game in this beautiful forest and make your way through the levels, until you end up here. A city made of pure machinery and pollution, complete opposite of where you started. A warning, of what the future will be like if Robotnik is not stopped.
