I am awaiting a heart transplant, about 2 years on the list now. One of the things I miss most is mountain biking. Hopefully by the time I am ready for the games mountain biking will be an official event.
Hi Damon. You are a true inspiation to me. I had my transplant on Feb 12th 2011. Just wondering how much do you train and how much water do you drink? Also are you still on steroids? can you do weights after the transplant. I want to start but am too scared to because i'm scared it might damage the transplant. Thanks
First of all thanks for replying! I did already they are very informative, thank you very much. I just hope everything goes well and my life can change like yours.
Hey damon danieli, my name is edgar perez Im 24 years old and my wife is going to give me her kidney next week 1/31/11 and Im really nervous i keep thinking about it, i feel like my head is going to blow up, i guess im really scare of pain. can you tell me how is the pain lvl after the surgery and how long did it take you until you didnt felt no pain.
@eperez14569 Your wife is wonderful for doing that. God bless her. My recovery was very easy and for the most part pain free. Sara, my donor, had some specific complications and went through a lot more pain. See my other videos on the post-transplant recovery for both Sara and me for the full explanation.
It has been a little over a year since our surgery and I still get goose bumps thinking of our journey. Your strength has been an inspiration to me. I'm so glad to know you and I'm very proud of us both!
Thank you for sending me this video Damond! Great video and am so happy you got to go to the Transplant Games in Australia! Sends chills down me as I know how I felt with my first transplant games last year when I went in Canada! :)
