you can have it retract on the same spring system, or

have a self acting retract , so your other hand grabs a ring on the back of

the middle blade to retract back on same tract ,coming to a catch or hinge, loading the spring in the doing so , you van have the troigger on the palm or attached to a finger, so a gesture would open them,,very cool

on it's own, this design is a very cool idea, but they look like they would tend to get stuck, or jammed. To fix this you will need a more powerfull spring system to push them out, and a durable mechanism to lock them in place at either end.

Over-all though it is a very good design, and probably a lot better than I could do at this point.
