  • I've got the same guitar is your whole body quilted? love esp and mesa keep rocking man

  • @metalpride15 which did U get, hope U got the mesa, just because they are the best amps out in my opinion

  • Thrash Metal!

  • @metalpride15 shut the fuck up dickhead just suggested....

  • @metalpride15 duude u don't need to ask....OFC MESA is much better than peavey.....

  • @metalpride15 Honestly, I think either amp would suit you fine. Both are professional grade. I don't know the price point of the Peavey's, but I would assume it would be slightly less expensive initially. For a touring musician who doesnt want or need a huge rack/pedal setup I'd probably go with the Peavey. For recording, I would give the edge to the Mesa, as you have more tone options.

  • Umm...that's how you're supposed to...lol

  • I HATE it when people hold a guitar like that!

  • @Zacafratz17 that's the classical position. it's like that because of the shorter scale of the neck on a Classical guitar.

  • I HATE it when people hold a guitar like that!

  • I love my Triple Rec. Though, I'm not a big fan of the scooped mid chunka chunka tone much these days. Thankfully, The Triple Rec is a do everything pretty darn good amp. I used to play a Fender Hot Rod with Blues Driver in a country band. The Triple Rec would have done that perfectly. I run all my knobs pretty much straight up.

    Nice rig!

  • Mesa amps = THRASH \m/

  • why do all mesa boogie reviews sound like shit? im starting to think they are OVERRATED amps

  • @atheistmayora Mesa amps are difficult to dial in. Most people make them sound overly harsh and with too much presence/high end. Listen to my demo. That's how a rectifier sounds when it is dialed in correctly;)

  • you should record this with a mic man

  • HAHA! Fantastic tone! Could sit there all day playin that set up.

  • That, my friend, was not bad at all!

  • nice vid man

  • 4 million dollars o equpiment, listen to the humm

  • @glpainterwindstream All tube amps do that until you step away from them, especially with active pick-ups. It happens with my Peavey - you're not meant to be that close to them.

  • bay area thrash? you are from where i am from :)

  • loool collegeboy emopussey, learn to play xD

  • sounds great man

  • I thinking of upgrading to a better amp head. I'm gonna use a mesa cab but Im divided between getting a rectifier or a Peavey 6505/5150+. I know that the Peavey is tighter and more clarity with gain and that the rectifier is better toned and warmer when saturated. However I have heard that mesa's lose a lot of clarity when turned up all the way and that although the peavey is not nearly as good as a recto it holds up better at high volumes and is much cheaper. Can U give me your opinion on it?

  • @megametalmaestro - Yeah, the volume/clarity thing really is a pointless argument as basically half-way up is retarded loud. Push the tubes harder without changing gain or treb etc. your gonna start getting microphonic squeel sounds out of the tubes. So your settings loud should be diff than your settings at room volumes. Nice thing about playing loud is you will start to get power tube distortion and a little speaker distortion so you need less gain. but for cheap get 5150, nice amps

  • @Hjefv retarded loud. lol.

  • @megametalmaestro to tell the truth i have been playing guitar for about 10 years and 6 months and when my band started to get serius i started thinking about new better gear i immediatly got the esp ltd h1001 deluxe then i moved on to my rig and this was the hard part the cab was an easy choice marshall 1960 a cab , but when it came to finding a head that could get the tone and clarity at high volume i found that between a triple rec, 5150 and a framus cobra. after playing them i went framus

  • @megametalmaestro Hey I'm getting a 6505+ 112 and it sounds killer when i tried it at the music store (buying it tommorow), I say try both because ive never played a rec before but I say for the record get a peavey 6505+!!!! Happy Thanksgiving too :)

  • @megametalmaestro my friend brought his dual over and put it on my trace elliot 4 12 cab it had75 celestions on it and 100ft away it was the clearist sounding amp ive ever heard no matterhow loudwe turned it up it sounded clear even with the gain all the way up if u put a beast like a mesa on low watt speakers it will kill em and ull think its the amp sound but its not

  • @megametalmaestro My favourite band is bay are, All Shall Perish, and I can hear the sound you want, I would definitly recoment the peacy 6505+

  • @megametalmaestro I say get the new Bugera Tri Rec ($750 new) that just came out its a Mesa Boogie thats affordable or get the B-52 At-100 that is also replicated after the Triple Rect but youd have to get the B-52 used ($350-500) because it was discontinued, (dont get the Atx-100 it is modeled after the Marshall Jcm800)

  • @megametalmaestro dude that thing sounds awesome great playing did u hear what fja mods does to them hes just ripping people off

  • amazing rig! :)

  • this tone is killer dude.

is all that rack stuff behind you being used and if so what is it? effects loop or out front?

  • wow, you made it. you make this amp sound like a piece of shit.

  • @andtrue1307. Clearly you are self smarted. I dont believe that you used a very good analogy as once deposited, said piece of shit would not make any noise. At no point did you discuss any pertinent issues such as tone, playing style, or gear. You are a reprehensible human bieng and we are all stupider for having read your comment.

  • @Hjefv haha owned

  • @Hjefv dude i have no idea how anyone thumbed your comment up, not trying to be a dick but if you are going to try to insult someone you should at least be able to spell. Seriously man "self smarted" and "stupider"? Any kid in elementary school could tell you that's horribly wrong. /rant off

  • @Pointless88 And you should use two spaces after periods and failed to do so! HAR-HAR!! Im not trying to be a dick either, but if I was a dick I would be in your mouth. Thank you.

  • @Hjefv really dude?

  • @doktorlindblood In response to your comment, I visited your page and I actually do like pelican, however, was disappointed that you dont have any videos of you playing or doing anything that I could tell. Anyways#1 comment is just plain stupid. #2 comment response is I dont need to as ...#3 ....I could buy a single channel 50 watt tube amp but why when I already have simulclass boogie amps?

  • @doktorlindblood your fucking retarded huh

  • @doktorlindblood you sound really dumb haha...clean sounds are the shit...a 1 channel 50 watt tube amp? why? you can do way more with this amp and its all tube and 150 watts you idiot..and it probably has a 50 watt switch..dork.

  • @doktorlindblood wow you are just a faggot that needs to stop eating dicks because that shit is going straight to the brain....

  • haha oh ok, i see what you mean. thanks a bunch man

  • HELP! i am a guitarist looking for a new amp.i like the sound on the video, but can you get the triple rectifier to sound that way without the compressor?which amp would you recommend- randall rm100kh or the mesa boogie triple rectifier?

  • @kernerdenis I havent had the opportunity to play any of the newer randalls, or the newer gen of rectifiers for that matter!! Buying an amp can be pretty frustrating, they are very expensive and typically the guys at music stores dont want you to play them cranked for very long. Also, Mesa's are kind of known for bieng picky/difficult to dial sounds in and I somewhat agree. The best advice I can give is stick with a name brand tube amp, and demo it if at all possible before you purchase./

  • man i sure love mesa triple rectum fryers

  • Hey man, I have a krankenstein amp but I see Mesa triple rectifier all over the place with professional bands. Knowing that you own both, what's your personal opinion between the two and which is your favorite and why?

    Thanks man, keep it metal!

  • Honestly, I like them both. You get an extra channel with the Rectifier, but I only use one clean /one distorted anyway. I think the crank cabs are better and I like the Texas Heats. Tonewise, same type of thing. I think the krank has a little more modern sound, mesa a little darker sounding. Tonesnobs will allways find a reason to diss on yer gear, but ultimately all that matters is if you like it.

  • @Hjefv When you say Mesa having a darker sound do you mean like a death metalish sound?

  • @spyicu

I mean darker like more than regular dark, or like an abscence of light sounding tone, but to a greater extent. :)

  • zzz

  • this suck.

ih god you own good stuff, but playing suck at all

  • @pakiw2 ,

awsum, thank good comment , suck yeah kewl.

  • Kick ass metal sound like that cost to truckload of money. Were talking progear. Its a hobby for those with endorsment or alot of monmey

  • i now regret buying an ENGL Powerball. well im saying that now, once i get my vader cab, i will see which is better. i always wanted a rectifier :I idk why i went and got the ENGL

  • To much presence and treble.

  • hey its stone cold

  • this sound is straight from your head and cab.. or theres any pedal...effect or whatever... if its come directly from the head, can u tell me your setting.. i want it sooo bad.. pls, btw gr8 vid

  • effects loop on the older three channels is more for time based effects, basically delay:) I like the rectifier series for the oomphf, but many people feel they can lack tightness, which i feel is somewhat true. They are a darker sounding amp, which isnt always a good thing, I now run a Mark V with the triple to round out the sound more. But, they do have a newer model out, check it out and let us know what you think.

  • Hey man, i am planning on purchasing an amplifier(not for a while but im doin my research early) and I play ALOT of metal, from Standard to Heavy to Black to Death to jus the most brutal stuff possible. I am looking for a good tube amp to give me the missing crunch and heavyness of my guitar I am looking for. Is this a really good amp for these kinds of music?

Also I have my own stompboxes like graphic EQ's and overdrives, will these work nicely in the FX loop/straight into the amp?

    Thank you!

  • @jaki54321 check out the framus cobra. dual/triple recs are standard in metal, so you won't go wrong with them. I've got a cobra though and they are insane.

  • mmm.. 5150

  • What is another awesome, affordable metal amp besides this one?

  • What cab is this?

  • is that slayer?

  • at least i think rainbow knobs are cool >.>

  • this amp has a 150W to 50W switch on it? and if so, is it good for room level volumes?

  • anything above 1 is loud on any rectifier for just about any room. I used mine in a live venue on less than 2. its loud.

  • dude that was awesome!!!!!!

  • cute rainbow knobs!

  • man the buzz in the first part is killing me

  • you mast bay gibson

  • Could someone please enlighten me as to why you would need a triple rec. vs. a single or dual rectifier? I mean, 150 watts, that's FUCKING LOUD. Unless you are playing a huge venue, it seems like you will never be able to push your amp to the limit, which IMO is where a recto really shines.

What's your master volume at in this vid? 4? lol. But really awesome setup man, that guitar is fucking killer as well.

  • man if i played in someones living room i would crank this mother fucker as loud as i could without blowing them tubes. that way you get a little brain massage

  • dude,6 tubes give much more active eq,cleaner sound and most important thing when it comes to mesa, the ultimate tight bass response!!

play a singel recto and then a dual/triple recto and you will understand!!

  • omg dude...freaking nice ..can u tell me your setting right now ? rly need it hehe, thx

  • hey.

i´m also playing a triple rectifier and a mesa box with an ibanez s-series with emg81.

and i´m also not glad with the sound i get out of the whole thing.

i already read through the postings here.

    what i want to know:

what tubes do you use? and what kind of settings do you use at the back of your mesa.

i mean this switcher between bold and spongy and silicon diodes or vacuum tubes.

  • i can tell by your playing your a fan of death?

  • How many frets is that guitar?

  • noise gate! O_o\

  • i know right

  • Nice playing man,

a noise gate would do the job, Try the decimator Pro Rack G,

and I have the same amp except with the slanted cab, Wicked sounds, nothing better than a Mesa!

  • y the overdrive sounds to me so digital??

  • it sounds digital because it was recorded on a computer, and you're listening to it on youtube

  • when i play it on youtoube it sounds like ones and zereos :)

  • yes cory, very cold. the new rectos are like that. ever since who knows when

  • do you need a noise compresor 5/5 :)

  • man put some damn carpet in that room or something!! haha good video i like it

  • In the garage? :) RAWK AWN!

  • Dam man that sounds killer, i got this same head, new to the whole big amp thing, so i gotta ask, whats the basics of getting good tone out of it?

  • Everybody you ask is going to have a different answer for that, but I like compression, noise gate, eq , and boost of somekind seperate from head.

  • like your style

  • @metal1324 thanks man!

  • Ive played triple rectifiers and can never get a good distorted tone out of em? they seem like they lack gain. or is there some 'switch' i didnt turn on cus that amp is full of damn switches and shit. How do bands like cannibal corpse and suicide silence do it?

  • @DB73093 Those amps need to be loud to sound good.

  • @Rln777 REAAAAAAALY LOUD hehehehehe

  • @marceloliver REALLY REALLY LOUD

    LOL

  • @DB73093 pedals i'm assuming. i don't know of many mainstream bands who don't use pedals, which is unfortunate in most situations.

  • I dont like large amount of pedals.. i got 3. They most liekly get the gain from an od pedal.. (Tubescreamer)

  • i don't use distortion pedals, i personally think if your amp needs a distortion pedal, it's not a good amp. i've used modulation pedals and shit, but i don't actually own any.

  • I didnt mean full distortion preamp boxes. An Overdrive Pedal That uses the amp distortion but boost your guitars signal to get even more gain out of it. I have a Krank Krankenstein and its amazing

  • dude i think it'd be sweet if the knobs were actually colored like tht

  • @poolpaul5 But tats not rock~

  • @poolpaul5 LIKE A RAINBOW IN THE DARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRK!!!!!!!!

  • cool!! colored knobs! mesa/boogie should make a special edition with knobs like that!

  • Yeah you could play one of those crazy steve vai colored guitars!

  • Nice! Do you know any hardline songs? BTW how much is this AMP?

  • @SonicGamer1991

the heads are around $1800+, and the cabs are $1000

  • that tone is heavy as hell, did you run any pedals through it?? im considering buying one.

  • yeah, on this vid I ran it through a compressor and a volume boost before going straight into amp, for metallica though its easier to get there tone with a mark series. My current favorite setup is running mark v to top cab and triple rec to bottom cab, both through my rack, little bit of compression and sometimes noise gate, for recording though I usually run the noise gate and the compressor on the microphone instead of amp/gtr.

  • what compressor are you using?

  • dbx 166xl

  • Hi Hjefv, I own the same amp but your tone is just badass, it's perfect. If you want I'd like you to help me with that... I know you use DBX 166 XL, but I wanted to know how good it was as a noise gate? I mean, on the video it seems like you have NO feedback at all and you're sitting next to your amp, so I'm wondering: are you running your amp half power? or more?

Also, what do you use a volume boost for that distortion without leaking(whistling)?

  • I will change my settings day to day, depending on room, or guitar im usingbut generally...excellent as noise gate, w/ the 166 you can actually add or decrease signal gain, I normally will add a little bit here

  • as to no feedback, my volumes rolled off on guitar until I start to play, plus using emg 81=nothing to feedback. Not running at reduced power in the sense of no removed tubes or anything like that. and for volume boost I like a metalzone w/ the gain almost on zero, solos sometimes a boss super overdrive.-let me know if you got any more questions -hjefv

  • EMG pickups, along with any other humbucker pickup, doesnt have feedback. really only single coil pickups give u feedback

  • they do have feedback, just not as much

  • i have EMG's on my guitar and i play through a marshall with Boss's Metalcore pedal and i can go 3 inches away from my amp with volume at half and not get anything, it depends on the amp settings and equipment you use

  • i now have a peavey 6505 and an ltd m-400 with EMG 81's, get a bit of squeal when not playing, even with gain on 6

  • @airplanegy49

You're either an idito or a troll.

  • @ZeppelinRules

    u mean idiot? lol

  • my last comment was to positivecommitment

  • i have a cat..

  • some cats are more metal than others..

  • true...he scratches to come in my room when i play.

  • that amp is scary...

    in a good way =)

  • fuckin brutal tone man.

  • Thanks brother

  • ive got '86 ESP M-III , i love that , great for LoG, but I use for more Cannibal Corpse type stuff.

  • guys knock cc tone but i dig it!

  • i've never heard anyone knock tone before.

  • no problem buttlicker!

  • sell some of your gear and get some lessons :)

  • you favoreted a wes borland video on your page.HA HA HA!!! Thats the funniest thing ever!! I mean here's the thing, You got this guy, in this case you, and he's looking up WES BORLAND videos. I predict that you have a cat, like cock, and if it's not in your mouth it's on your mind. Seriously, you made my day, thats the funniest shit ever.

  • did i really get you that mad? damn bro... worry about yourself, you're garbage

  • i dont know about getting lessons your sick but you can hook a brother up with that triple rect hahaha i have a ltd viper ESP ALL THE WAY

  • Awesome, gotta love'em for metal tone

  • Saving up to get a triple rectifier head and cab, can't wait.

Btw, the rainbow color from the lighting on the knobs looks actually really badass.

  • im looking for a lamb of god tone.. wat should i get?

  • For a Lamb of God tone buy a Mesa Boogie Mark IV and either a Will Adler signature ESP or the signature Mark Morton Dominion. Or any Jackson or ESP guitar with active JB/59s

  • no not any jackson or esp. Any mahogany guitar. Must be made out of mahogany for that warmth and beef. An alder guitar can do LoG, but mahogany will do much better.

  • my guitar is esp and its mahogany.

  • Dude don't get a amp because your favorite artist uses it get a amp that sounds good to your ears

  • there is no such thing as an active jb or 59

  • Dave mustane's live wire set is active version of the jb and 59

  • Passive JB/59s sorry.

  • amp settings.most specifically gain, bass, mids, treble, reverb?

  • sounds fuckin sweet i wish i had the cash for that head

  • Brutal sound man. Very nice rig ;)

  • Dear Mr.Beeftoy, i would punch you but I dont want to get faggot all over me.

  • hahahaha

  • ur probly some lamb of god tone chaser who needs to shut the fuck up.

  • @mikebeefraud:

this amp sounds pretty much amazing. beefy thick tone.

whats wrong with you dude?! r u so much bored, or jealous?! wtf?! noone is interested in such inmature deconstructive cooments like yours!

  • What Boogie did Kirk Hammett used to play all the time?

  • Mark IIc+, and dual rec's have known to have been in his rack.

  • where'd you get yer mesa, and how much was it?

  • rainbow knobs lol

  • Brutal. I like it. Mind if I asked how you have it miced? Looks like two mics?

    What mics? Thanks.

  • sure 57 and also a cheap off-brand that kinda looks like a 58 that sounds pretty good to me. I like to use a lot of gain so I run my noise gate after my mics to not squash the tone but still get rid of the hum.

  • finally someone who plays with some balls. Good job man. I really want a mesa head either dual or triple recto. Can't really decide.

  • fuck rectos. buy the mark V

  • i have a mark v too bitch(:

  • Bahah Kapwned!

Nice one dude. How're you liking that V?

I've heard despite the fact they say it sounds like a mark IV lead, it really has its own voice. How do you feel?

  • to be honest ive never played a mark iv , so I cant compare the two. I do really the variety of tones you can get out of it though. I play with the triple going to bottom cab and it covers the low end and then i have the mark v going to my top cab with a more up front gain setting. the two together blend really nice

  • whats up with the hum?

  • Sweet tone & playing, very Cannibal Corpse meets Testament.

  • stone cold !!!

  • what are your settings?

  • you need to get rid of that hum, dude.

  • you are right, and you need to quit wearing "I'm a fighter look at me clothes!" on all of your videos.:)

Nice guitar playing though, I'd like to get a lonestar or the 5:25 sounded real good too

  • Hey, ive got a bet going on, maybe you could help me out. How many tapout stickers are on your vehicle??

  • lol, none.

  • sorry dude, but my main hobbies are music & BJJ, and i wear clothes related to both.. it makes me rage seeing every 18-30 year old wearing tapout clothing, but I actually put the hard work into training and competing.

    :p
