I'm afraid that the information you got from Enoch is wrong. Enoch was talking about the unclean souls of demons that come from the Nephilim which were the offsprings of man and angels...not animals.

Interestingly I think Enoch should have been included in the cannon. It is interesting that you use it to back up your theory.

People who think animals have no souls are either evolutionists (and we all know what fairy tale they believe) either pretending they know God, but they don't really know Him. There are enough evidences in the Scripture (King James version, not just apocrypha like Enoch) that sustain the fact that animals do have soul. To say they don't simply means to deny the power and the purpose of God's creation. Animals do have soul, go to Heaven and eventually will be resurrected. Totally scriptural.

If having a soul means being loving, selfless, protective to the point of death, empathetic, comforting, forgiving of wrongs, etc. - then dogs not only have souls but a better case can be made for dogs having souls than many humans. Just like people vary - so do dogs. We just lost our faithful 'pack member' this week. He died at home. I checked on Jack frequently. I just put my 16 year old cocker down on wednesday, so this is why the thought came up for me about the dog having a soul.

The first bible translated into English was the Geneva bible, and it had 80 books. The protestant bible that came out of the reformation reduced the number to 66 books. But before that, the Catholic church was already corrupt during the time of Constantine when Christianity married paganism by adopting many of their traditions.

Oh jebus dude. Is it not obvious "scripture" is read differently by everyone. It basically amounts to saying what "you believe" because people twist scripture to fit their own standards. I don't know enough about apocryphal lit to say anything about Enoch, but I do know that the Hebrew word for animal, nephesh, literally translates as "soul."

In the 66 canon, verses regarding animals are just vague enough for a person to lean in either direction, but I find support for it. However, Leviticus notes only a restitution for the death of an animal.

I hope they do :) I've had many pets, and as many pet owners can attest...you can see it in their eyes :)

That is right people do not go to heaven or to hell when they die. they are asleep waiting for the resurrections. if they are in heaven already then what is the resurrection for? just look at the way Yesu Christ was resurrected. He is the first to be resurrected and taken to heaven people saw him go up. we do not see the people that die going up at this time, 1thess.4:14-18 this will not happen if the people are in heaven already

The appropriate verse reads:

"similarly beasts will not perish, nor all souls of beasts which the Lord created, till the great judgment"

So they will be around for judgement day. But there's no clear answer as to whether or not they go to heaven.

Other scripture does tell us that the lion will lie with the lamb. So this could mean animals are in heaven. But whether or not they once lived on earth is difficult to say.

They could be sent somehwere else or even destroyed.

Mans soul is different from that of animals. We have the spirit of God breathed into us and are made in His image. We are also told that we have domminion over all animals.

So while our soul may be different, this does not change the fact that animals do have a soul.

It is our model of what a soul is that needs to be considered when looking at this issue.
