The vocals are the bee's knees in this song. People just like to complain. I imagine those bitching and moaning are the type who write angry letters to places of business complaining about their products. Basically, Ben Stiller in Greenberg.
It starts really good, but then it continues on with vocals without any break... and the focus is clearly on the vocals. I dont have a problem with vocals added to this kind of music, but there is way too much focus at it on this song. For example ISIS make similarly complex, athmospheric and mostly instrumental music, and the vocals in many of their songs can be present most time, but they are way more subtle. Not louder than instruments, just adding to them. While these vocals take all room...
I would prefer the vocals were shorter (just being present on shorter parts of the song), or more subtle, then I would be fine with them, this way I think it takes away more than they add... I hope the rest of the album will be better, i loved the last 2, and i loved your show in vienna :)
@frank1dux I'm gonna have to say I'm not sure if I totally like the vocals, but they already did two albums of instrumental music. Look back at their late 90s/early 00s crap, and they had vox. They just wanted to try something new or try stuff like back in the days again maybe. I'm sure the album will rock, no worries.
