@WeEatBrainz Um, I'm no Apple fanboy, but I do NOT think it's a giant iPod Touch. You can read books on it better,sure I admit the two are similar,but that's just because it runs an iPhone OS. You can type on it better (my record's 31 wpm),watch movies better,the apps are better in layout, more convienent (compared to a laptop),I do admit, it would be nicer if it had Mac OSX on it. I own an iPod Touch,too,some people like it (the iPad),some don't. You're one of those people who don't.

@WeEatBrainz I'm sorry, but people who say its ONLY a giant iPod are so incredibly simple minded at how they look at it. iPhone OS actually IS OSX, the operating system is the exact same, same kernel same everything, only difference is that iPhone replaces "Cocoa" with Cocoa Touch, which is just the applications framework. So technically, an iPhone is just a mini Mac OSX. And using that OS on a desktop sized screen makes all the applications behave more like Mac apps instead of iPhone apps.

Steve jobbs has said hundreds of times that it was built from the ground up. Iphone os, even modified could never run on a device that has less power than the average netbook (ipad). Its iphone software NOT mac os x . for that you should quit failing.

Once again. iPhone OS is built from Mac OSX. Don't believe me? Go watch Macworld 2007, where Steve Jobs says it clear as day. Then go watch the iPhone software roadmap keynote from 2008, where Scott Forstall, one of the architects of OSX and iPhone OS, as he explains how iPhone OS as well as the SDK is built using OSX.

They share the same kernel, the same BSD filesystem, the same core services, the same media layers with OpenGL and OpenAL.
