Hmm, I don't know. I did bodybuilding type workouts for several years and really didn't make much progress until I switched to powerlifting. But my body has really responded to powerlifting.
I'm at about 330 pounds. A year ago, I'm not sure I want to say, LOL. I competed in my first powerlifting competition in Aug 08 ( about 3 weeks after I started training ) and I weighed 265. I've been able to put on a lot of mass by lifting heavy and eating a ton of good food. I've gained some fat, but mostly muscle.
You must be over 60" by now big Man?

at your size you could probably wreak havoc if you were to try bodybuilding!
