  • I'd like it, (I've looked it up) to get some tougher CD's/DVD's, it would help if there was something that could put a tough transparent layer on it, they are such fragile things, like a coat of that really hard glass on pharmacy windows :)

  • ok, I just tried it on a dvd that wouldnt play and it worked. It says to clean the peanut butter off with a coffee filter, I didnt have one so I cleaned it off with a soft rag. Its playing fine now.

  • thanx for this video...i used toothpaste to fix my disc and shined it up with corn oil...lol...toothpaste (not gel kind) does make more scraches but it workes...i fixed 3 broken disc yesterday

  • I read that someone had used autowax with good results. I can confirm that. Often when you hire a DVD it is very dirty or full with scratches. I use floating car wax and it works just brilliant.

  • I have a motorized Skip Doctor. Works like a charm. There's a hand cranked one as well, but I find the motorized one works a whole lot better.

    However, I've developed good handling habits so that explains why.

    Although, I don't apply the same care with my backups of my originals.

    And, while using water isn't bad, using it when the acrylic lacquer has been breached is.
