I haven't heard this in years; but the band are still enjoyable after all this time.In 1968 a friend of mine Steve Brink had been eating perhaps a little too much acid, & his father packed him off to a "nuthouse "to straighten out. However we organised a gig INSIDE the Blossom Toes did the music & I did the Psychedelic lighting effects !! Needless to say a good time was had by all!!
the two people who dont like this are either deaf or dumb.. or they pressed dislike by mistake! Blossom Toes are a true gem of a band who were (and still are) highly underrated.
Bonjour, vous aimez les sixties ? écoutez et podcastez mon émission "le super son des 60's" sur le site de plumfm. You like the 60's ? please, listen and podcast my broadcast "le super son des 60's", connect to "plumfm". Salut et faites gaffe au rock and roll.
The beginning is very Pink Floyd-ish. Half "Careful With That Axe, Eugene" and a bit of "Us And Them (aka "The Violent Sequence")...which for the latter part, is weird, because I don't think it had been written yet. hmmm... Great song, thanks for posting this..I'd never heard of this band before !
Remember seeing them at a lunchtime gig at the LSE probably c. 68. The double guitar thing on the "If Only For A Moment" album was great and they wrote really good songs. Two great if pretty unknown albums. Excellent band.
Theres a live album available now on Amazon...Stuff from 67..69 inc the Amougies festival that Pablo mentions....witha guest appearance from Zappa apparently...
My favourite blossom toes track is a song called "When the Alarm clock Rings". It's so fucking bright and breezy every time I hear it I feel like it's a brand new day. I don't know much about this band but everything I've heard I've loved...Peace lovin man is a cool track also...I love this track, kind of reminds me of Traffic...dig it baby
I saw Blossom Toes at the Amougies festival, a French pop festival cancelled in France and moved outside the borders. First saw Pink Floyd, and many others there, but especially liked BT. Somehow, they didn't manage to break through in any significant way...
Even their record company thought they were absolute shit and couldn't be bothered promoting them. I've got the "We Are Ever So Clean" album and it's really cute and whimsical compared to this song. This has more guts and soul, and it should've been a hit.
taken one night in BLAZES. Previously we had been at their party in Sth.Ken. Others guests
to the party were Simon Marsden,Peter Fisher, the
Cream debouting singer...and Jimy Hendrix -it was his birthday. This was the first time I saw the Blossom Toes, in a club with no more than maybe 100 people.Outstanding musicians !
I was in my teens when I heard "Peace Loving Man" (once) on John Peel. I liked it but didn't investigate the band. Now I'm hearing all this and it's revelation. Thanks Square Pyramid. What have I missed?
That may well be where I first heard B. Toes as well...then I bought the single, then the album, then flogged it to death, then repented over an unplayable hunk of vinyl for 35 odd years, then at last got hold of the re-released CD. You TOO can get the CD, just ask Amazon!!! No need to miss out any more.
Is John G. Perry (of Caravan 1972-75-bass,vox) in this band ?! thanks!

Face melting riff there at the end. No doubt from the explosion of a love bomb.

'Dear mr Fantasy" by Traffic sounds a lot like this song...similar groove anyway...I think it came after, didn't it?

Saw them at Ally Pally 67. They were very popular amongst the Flower Power afficianados and Look at me I'm You was a cool ep to own at the time.
