Anyone looking to get xenon hid lights go with 8000k you will thank me. My car has 8000ks and when a new 2011 bmw or mercedes pulls up it makes their lights look cheap
Yeah, I love my Meng HIDs :) Now I just need some Projectors. You have any recomendations? All the projectors I see online are way to flashy and crazy expensive.
@ProTuner06 Dont get aftermarket projectors, get OEM 08+ projector headlights the OEM projectors are great with HID's. Aftermarket will have poor cutoff and a weaker beam pattern.
@ProTuner06 Or you can do what I did. Went to the yunk yards and found an 08 tC read ended, and they pulled the headlights got them for $220 the pair. You will for sure find the pair, if not get one side and wait fro the other one to pop out.
@NeXuS858 Yeah, I've already been looking from junk yard to junk yard. So far, no tc's of any year at all :/ I'm going to keep looking though. I'll find one evertually.
@offroadfury6 I just got mine today, and just finished installing them, but I think they sent me 6000k instead of 8000k, they dont look very blue at all. Would you mind telling me the color of the stick you have running along the bulb?
@pearl112 mine are white but that depends on the type of bulb and color though...I like 6K better. If you are unsure, they have a customer service center in 2 cities. call them, describe the bulb and give them the numbers off it and maybe they can confirm it for you. You can also download visual pictures of each of DDM's bulbs off their website and compare. it's through Acrobat reader...go to "DDMtuning" site, click on "Support", click on "Downloads", then download "HID Bulb Guide"...
@offroadfury6 Thanks dude, I actually called them earlier and they said "Well what does it say on the box.." I know for a fact now that they're not 8000k. Also, when I installed them, the hi/low is backwards. Whenever I turn on my brights, it turns on my Low beams. But when I turn the brights off, its on my High beams. So Im gonna have to call them again tomorrow, because I got pulled over about 2 hours ago :P 6000k isn't that bad, i just want a little bit more blue
@pearl112 Reverse Polarity maybe? call them back, I'm sure they can help you with your hi/low issue, did you install the HID's in the high beam insted of low beam spot? and If it is your ordering error, I dunno if they will exchange but if it's their error, call 'em back, I'm sure they'll have no issue swapping you some 8k's...
Good luck and double check your stuff...go back to the site and look at your ordering history to confirm what color you really did order. ;)
from where you bought your kit i want my car to have that same light blueish color , I recently bought one but it is more white than blue and i don t like it that much
@jo53wbf I bought a 8000k kit from eBay and they were way to white to be 8k. So I sold that kit to a friend a bought a different 8000k kit from eBay and they were blue, it looks awesome. I got some pictures of the difference from my old kit and my new kit. The kit was 90 bucks hi/low and he has great feedback. You should look into eBay.
@zuneluvr sadly i know exactly what u mean there are clowns everywhere who improperly do installs if your gunna do something do it right and dont make others suffer
i reallllly like that color. Can you tell me is it just the bulb that you replace (if yes then where did you get it?) or you have the HID kit convertor?
I just got mine kit yesterday from SparkHID DoTCoM, install it today, man what a big difference. LOVE THEM, WILL EVER GO BACK TO HALOGEN BULBS. Nice, Bright and clear. can see all the pot holes and speed bumps ect.... GOOD vision sparkhid dotcom
Thanks! This is not my current setup anymore switched to the new 08-09 tC headlights with projectors cutoff is sweet on them ill be uploading a video.
Hey man those look Clean! I just posted a video of my Scion tc with Projectors, and 6000K. They look so damn clean! And the video will show you the nice cutoff, and the color of my scion.
Come check out my video for those of you who want to see 6000K on projectors! Thanks
ok thank you lots. im definitely gettin hid's my friends have them. ima go 6000k. i was just reading some gibberish about having to disconnect daytime running lights to run hid's but didnt know if that article had applied to the tC's. thanks for your help greatly appreciated. i have an 07 with mods, be sure and check my page out on here for some vids of it.
No problem glad to help! HID's runing strong but gonna swap the bulbs since I got the new 08-09 headlights with projectors that shopuld give me a clean cutoff.
It's only a matter of time before you blow your switch for your lights. HID's don't use as much power (volts) but they use more amps. I give it less then two years before you're replacing your switch.

Don't listen to these grandads...the lights look fine, they just bugging out because they wish their lights were as blue as yours....i got 8000k too and drive pass police with them on all the time, they dont batter an eyelid and I've also never been flashed by oncoming vehicles, instead i get many motorist admiring them...plus my vision hasnt been affected by them either....so really these guys complaining are just geeks.
Yeah people are so anal. I already told them that my garage door is an metal aloy bronze or something like that, so it doesnt show a cutoff more like huge hotspot. And it isnt totaly blue the camera makes it look like a 10,000k. I am not saying there is no glare there is a little as all aftermarket HID kits so learn something before u post idiotic comments "oh there is no cutoff" 'its so blue, your gonna get stopped"
Link of a picture for the noobies, in the description.
@Jackruby22 Grandads? No one is jealous about blue light, because for $20 anyone can get BLUE hid's. They dont glare as it shows, I know all aftermarket HID's have some glare. The garage door is actualy like dark gold polish metal, so it reflects the light and it shows like I have some serious glare but I dont.
