  • Great point!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! People do not get that flooding the internet with videos labeled "ASL" only ends up with other people watching those videos and thinking they know ASL. It brings down the language and spreads misconceptions. Uugggh! It drives me crazy! People need to stop being lazy. You can't learn sign from the internet. You learn it by hanging out with Deaf people. Duh. Get off the couch and go find a Deaf Chat. Try any Starbucks on a weekend. Or ask Google. No excuse!

  • ewitteborg is very good too and StormFX is best of all

  • what do you think about kmklined? I feel that her newer interpretations are amazing. All of her interpretations videos are good, but I think that she's getting be with practice. What do you think?

Oh, yes, Tiffany Hill does have some great videos.

  • Amen!!! Love it

  • Oh my gosh, you guys, this is hilarious. I LOVE it. I love the lesson Wink is teaching and the hilarious, poor signing Keith is doing to prove a point. You guys "ROCK". :)

  • And that's why I don't upload videos on You Tube. Plus, I am just an ASL student; no where near proficient.

  • Did he just sign nurse? This song makes me feel sick and the ASL is wrong.

  • @gigy625 it's supposed to be wrong. They're teaching a "lesson" about people who sign songs on youtube and don't do it very well....mostly students.

  • thx!!

  • apologies.. it's lankylistman

  • Watching not-ASL music hurts my eyes. Some is beautiful..

I enjoy lankylistmanm and tiffanyhill elsewhere here on youtube. Take a look. What do you think?

  • @bearbenami love Tiffany Hill and StormFX!

  • @bearbenami And Ewitteborg!! :)

  • Oh my god, THANK YOU! I need to tattoo this link inside my arm so I can INSTANTLY direct SO MANY people to this vid! Sadly, so many who need to get the message won't actually understand it, but... It makes my heart happy to see the message anyway. And with such beautiful, pointed humor. :) Thank you again, gentlemen!

  • I agree ASL students are polluting YouTube with lots of bad ASL interpretations of songs. I did talk with my good friend who is deaf, and he said while it may be annoying, we shouldn't overlook the fact that ASL learning has exploded in growth and that's a good thing because more people will understand and support deaf people. We need more support from everyone, considering the rapid growth of C.I. surgeries on deaf babies, a real threat to deaf culture and ASL.

  • Tricky by run dmc is name of the song

  • I like this! I have a video on my channel that admonishes students who think that just because they know a few signs, they're qualified to teach ASL. I get all kinds of comments - some people applauding me, while other people criticize me, mostly saying "It's 'just' sign language, chill!" It's NOT "just sign language." It is the cherished language of the Deaf. Thanks for helping to preserve it and promote awareness. Oh, and Crom, make sure they get your cat in the next one. *grin*

  • I cannot agree more Keith! Thank you ^10. I hear your coming to Houston- I'm excited to see more of your stuff... live.

  • I want to thank you for opening my eyes to my misstep on this. Until watching this video, all of my ASL 3 homework was posted on my page as public with tags. This is now rectified and only the videos that I want to share are public; my homework is now unlisted and all tags have been removed. I will be sharing this with all of my classmates and club mates so that at least we can clean up our little piece of cyberspace.

  • Can you add English caption for the hearing so the students who do "ASL interpretations" can actually understand your point?! I'd share this with a few people who claim they are doing a song in ASL, but I'm afraid they wouldn't understand!

  • I have got to know what is the name of this song?

  • @timothyjmcneeley Name of the song is: "It's Tricky" by Run-D.M.C. And Keith, Mr. Wink, You 2 should redo the exact same song, in front of the exact same background, professionally terping ASL to show the difference to new audiences between the to.

  • As an ITP instructor I often ask students to post videos for me to grade. I am very strict about how they post them. They must be unlisted, no tags, no mention of ASL or sign language in the titles.

There is nothing worse than searching for ASL videos and finding 500 ASL students practicing.

  • alldeaf have a list of people on skype for those who want to practice their signing. Please learn it because you want to know the language and not because you want to help. Its a language, not a communication tool for the "disabled. Too many people think it doesn't matter how they sign it, deaf should be happy that they sign at all. other cultures laugh too(amazing race prove this) so ignore it and move on and keep learning.

  • Heil Keith!!!! You gotta love it lol!!!!!!

  • I had to watch it again to watch Keith this time... way to get down with your bad self! LOL xD

  • LOL!

  • @jnettie321 The problem is that everyone does not stop watching after the first 15 seconds. How about the girl who signs JESUS SAVES and I don't mean He saves people....more like He saves money in a deposit box? So now how many people are watching this child sign this song and copy sign, then go teach their group of kids to sign this? Think about it for a moment then realize THIS video is comedy. If you don't get the humor, then you don't really understand ASL or the damage it causes.

  • Ldelvalle12 - thank you for allowing us to see your passionate work! thank you for asking for feedback in private, polishing and reposting - I love the song about your father and will never forget how you made me feel when I watched you perform it live! ASL and music can be very powerful!

  • All I have to say is I agree with @winkasl @codawann I have seen them perform and its a beautiful experience. I have made videos and posted online. Some people view and don't comment. Honestly I wld love comments to know what to improve. I'm not the best and I know these to don't think they are either they are skilled and they only wld like to work with everyone to produce better quality of asl songs. Is that a bad thing?

  • Keep it up Keith .... You are supported WAY more than you know !! Hearing and Deaf in our family love you !!!

  • For students who have to use you-tube to send videos to a teacher for assignments there is a privacy option. No need to put practice vids up on public display.

  • i think its hillarious. i used to hate getting on you tube and all i would find is ASL students sad attempts at signing a song. and that is what they are doing- signing it, NOT interpereting it. focus more on practicing your ASL and less about posting your videos online.

  • I think this video needs a cat in it.

  • Hilarious! xD That was great! :D

  • This was good. And while it is kinda annoying to see everybody put up "practice videos," it even better to see people do the signing to songs. I like watching both types of videos.

I do strongly agree that more people need to learn ASL, and become aware of those in the community that are deaf.
