Uchimura placed 5th, people. Even if the Zou Kai was gifted because he's from the host nation, what about the other 3 guys placing above him? Were they overmarked too?
@viei91 yeah, in that pass, he left out a rudi, b/c the front full was too low. that cost him 4 tenths, which is a pretty big deduction especially at that level. the guys who medaled had about the same start value as him but they hit all their skills.
@gymnastguy328 okay. he missed the rudi but i think he still did 10 skills in his rutine. did he have a backup plan? i guess the deductions in the second line were enough anyway, as you pointed out.
@viei91 you're right. i just noticed that he still had 10 skills w/o the rudi. i just watched his routine from team finals where he did the rudi, so i guess in that routine the barani didn't count since it was his 5th forwards skill but he still got the connection bonus. in this routine, it must have counted since he missed the rudi. So i guess in this routine, he only lost 0.1 from his D score, but about 0.3 from his E score for the front full being too low and taking a hop.
@gymnastguy328 actually with the rudi it is 3 tenths more because rudi is a C and there is no connection bonus for front full to rudi because it is C C
