  • wait all 9 movies... Am I missing something?

  • @TheOneSeer Lucas' scripts included 9 movies.

  • Maria was bangin arnold later on this day. Not for kids, just for fun.

  • Is it just me or does Mark Hamill look like a better looking version of Lars Ulrich in Metallica? It's probably just me...

  • These movies are so good because George Lucas is not solely responsible for them.

  • @Crust218

Yup - he was under incredibly heavy supervision for the first. His film teacher did the second, and some third guy did third.

  • Getting these kinds of previews must have been gold back then, when there were only three channels... and maybe Starlog.

  • I prefer that image over HD. I wish I was alive 1n 1983. That sound...

  • Mark Hamill is the greates VOICE actor of all time =D Anyone played Batman Arkham City???

  • @mitchmazda6 Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Baaaaats!

  • boy,..if they only knew then what we knew now,....there will be no third trilogy BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

  • after watching this i'm going to watch return of the jedi

  • Earn him some respect? Playing Luke Skywalker DID earn him some respect. HAHA! I haven't heard anything bad about him.

  • Return of the Jedi in my biased opinion is the best of all the Star Wars films ever made.

  • Is this a news segment from a Sacramento television station being that the reporter said that he was reporting from the 'Sunrise Mall?'

  • It's amazing that they predicted the last film would be in 2004. They were one year off!

  • @brainboob that would be the 9th film they have only made 6 so far.

  • THey probably thought they'd be dead by 2004

  • Hold on a second...This story came out two days before the movie and they are sworn to secrecy, but the end of the clip shows Luke telling Leia that Vader is his father?

  • @GBev2K But we learned that Vader was the father in the movie before this one came out.

  • @lliillaahayes Well, if you were around in the years between ESB and ROTJ you will remember that we didn't know for sure if Vader was Luke's father. He told Luke he was, but we didn't know if he was lying as a ploy to get Luke to join the Dark Side or if he was telling the truth. It was a mystery until Yoda finally confirmed it to Luke in Return of the Jedi.

  • I love the 80's.

  • We diss on Mr. Lucas' prequels... but we'll still camp out for the fabled last trilogy.

  • 3 Trilogies?!?! oh no!! I mean, No! Nooooooooo!

  • 3 Trilogies?!?! oh no!!

  • Notice Mark says 9 stories?

  • "its a good movie, youll like the ending".

so we kept it quiet :).

thats what he should have said.

  • @bdungan 2004? You missed it.

  • The speeder bikes, how do they keep from hitting the trees?

  • @YouthFreedomFighters the force

  • To the guys who weren't around when this sort of 'expose' was shown on TV in the late 70s/early 80s, to see this amount of movie footage on your own TV was something special.

  • @therookpiece Yea it was, because when it was out of the theaters and if you didnt have a VCR thats all you had back then!

  • 9 movies? Please George dont do any more..

  • @wildone106 There will be more SW movies. Its guaranteed more SW movies will be made, although the next one might not be made until after George Lucas is dead but more will be made.

  • @YouthFreedomFighters They could be good again, they just need a good writer & director. Thats not George.

Even Spielberg is saying he didn't like what they did on Indy IV..

Im thinking now George had very little to do with SW success, other than being a good 'businessman' and made a good call in 77 with the merchandizing, and had good people around him to bring the movies to life.

  • @wildone106 The reason for this is very obvious. George is not a good director and he didn't produce the OT by himself like he did the prequels. As a director, he did everything in one take (in the prequels). That's why we have so many laughable scenes. Irvin Kershner as director, in contrast, did multiple takes and encouraged improvisation. That's largely why Empire Strikes Back is considered the best film.

Also as we first saw with the Ewoks, Star Wars had the potential for a huge cash grab.

  • @dylancholy Yeah, I was dying for GL to bring in a different director for the prequels. It's too bad he wouldn't do it. Can you believe how fabulous they could've been if they had gotten someone talented to direct them?

  • @dylancholy "Also as we first saw with the Ewoks, Star Wars had the potential for a huge cash grab." You mean it took them that long? Anyway, if George only made the prequels for the money, he would've saved himself a lot of grief by just having other guys direct and write (which he did do for V and VI).

  • So Maria looks like a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PERSON. Thank you Dr.

  • @bdungan me too :D

  • 9 STORIES? Summer 2004 he was planning it? GET ON IT LUCAS!

  • Man Maria was so smoking hot

  • @RevanGabriel Boy, I'll second that one! DAMN.

  • THREE trilogies??? Lets prey George abandons the last one ...

  • "MAH-REE-UH!" -Arnnie

  • NOOOOO I WANTED TO LEARN ABOUT THE BEST POPCORN

  • @kawaiitoboe Hahaha....and the best butter, to boot!

  • @kawaiitoboe Put a small amount of vegetable oil in a saucepan. Just enough to cover the bottom. Heat it until it starts smoking. Add the popcorn and put a lid on the saucepan. Agitate continuously, until popping stops. Put in a bowl. Add salt (not too much).

  • California's former first lady...who knew?
