Akerman did a great job playing Silk Spectre II. Face it It is much easier to play Rorschach or Comedian, whose characters are rather well developed. It's such a shame Snyder cut many moment with Laure from the movie. And SHE'S NOT A WHORE!

I think people despise her character and because of that they think the actress did a bad job... when in fact she acted just as she was supposed to.

she was the kind of girl next door and at the same time a femme fatale who was romantically instable and had daddy/mommy issues.

She did just fine. It maybe wasn't a standout performance like Rorschach, Comedian or Manhatten, but those characters are also much richer to start with, so it's easier to get a good performance out of them.

Maybe the reason why I didn't think she was a good actor in this one was for several reasons I guess... her character was like this kind of people I usually throw up at and compared to J.E.H and that guy who played Nite Owl she really was crap, but overall for her acting without comparing with anything of this I would say lazy.

I agree. Compaired to the overall cast she did not deliver like Jeffrey Dean Morgan or Patrick Wilson did. People have a hard time believing me when I say this, but I barely noticed her.

I feel like she faded into the background and Snyder made a poor choice in casting her. He could have chosen so many other "lesser known" actresses. Lena Heady from "300" would have been my choice.

Actually, Akerman did a really good job because she's portraying a character that is emotionally weak to begin with but, as the identity of her father is revealed, the identity of Silk Spectre is revealed.

I don't want people to get angry at me for saying this, but I never liked Laurie. And Malin Akerman just seemed to shrink next to the other actors. Patrick Wilson, Jackie Earle Haley, Billy Crudup, everyone in the cast except her seemed to give 100%. Since Malin doesn't have really any good movies in the past like the other actors, like "The Heartbreak Kid", she wasted an opportunity she needed to prove herself.

I would have put Lena Headey in as Laurie. At least Carla Gugino was perfect.

Well I read it, and thought they would get an actress who can hold her own against an Oscar nominee and Broadway actor. But they didn't. She just lacked everything Laurie had, and again I never even liked Laurie and know someone could play her better!

But like I said, her talent isn't immense. So her performance was a bit of a waste. Everyone except Malin Akerman delivered what I wanted.

The composer is Philip Glass. I Think this theme is specially for the film, but if you like it, you can find another soundtracks (the illusionist, mishima, powaqatsi...) it´s amazing but difficult to listen for it is too brain-braking. Good luck and enjoy it.

The point of Dr. Manhattan not wearing any clothes is a subtle reminder that hes disassociated with the norms of humanity; clothing is what we wear out of shame or acceptance in society, which Dr. Manhattan doesn't feel or have use for. In the graphic novel, he starts out with a full suit, then goes to only trunks, then nothing. It may be symbolic of his growing distance from humanity.

I'd agree with that. It's interesting seeing the contrast in this video between Malin Akerman and Billy Crudup because I think he has much better understanding of his character than she does. Part of the problem was how truncated the film was, but I never got the impression of resentment and sensitivity that was present in the original character.

... that was partly the reason it did so good, it has alot of media because it represents alot more than a typical super hero movie. It explores the dark, psychological side more than other super hero movies do.
