if u throw a 80 - 85 mph fastball your cutter must be above 75 - 79 mph no less, 69 - 71 mph would be a slider or a change up ...

@josephvalerio It's about average, Like good for a freshman would be to break the 80 mark cause Ik about 3-4 players in my high school division that throw about 87 and we are a 1A baseball team in a small town in Texas so yeah, you can excel if you can't get a better velocity, with really good breaking balls

My son turned 15 in February and is pretty consistent between 83-86 mph on the clock. He increased his speed significantly over last year but still throws too much with just his arm. He;s 5'9" and still growing. Never believe the speed anyone tells you unless you see the clock yourself!
