Everything they did between 1935- early 1939 was to avoid war and buy time for Britain to re-arm, by this time Hitler had already taken The Rhineland, Prussia, Sudentenland, United with Austria and invaded Czechoslavakia then he invaded Poland and we had to intervene! But we were not entirely ready for war
