I'm Avon representative for more than 7 years and to tell u the truth I sometimes find lot of fakeness within the whole idea. Most of the cosmetics have parabens, yet Avon helps fight breast cancer. Then all this sell more and more idea, if I don't approve a product I just usually say to girls it's not worth buying. I don't care how much I sell, I just want my friends to trust me and so I never lie to them.
My friend Lillian became our area's Avon Lady. I got on the horn to everyone, and said, "Lil is just starting out, so BUY STUFF from her! Propel her to a good start!" If anyone said that they didn't buy Avon, I repeated myself, only louder, and they caved. But then she quit right away, and now everyone sees me for the choleric heavyhand that I am. Oh well!

No, that's not true. Skin So Soft, Sweet Honesty and Timeless, they're all still there. I'm sure there's more but I do miss Honeysuckle and I wish they would bring it back.

My mom sold Avon for nearly 24 years. Sadly she had to stop selling because she had colon cancer and it was getting too hard for her to do it anymore. Less than a month later she passed away. It's a shameshe didn't make it to 25 years because if she made it to 25 years she would have gotten alot of gifts from Avon. If she were alive and healthy today she would still be selling Avon.
So sorry about your Mom's passing! ;(( May she RIP! As a mostly former Mary Kay representative, I give her lots of credit for sticking it out as long as she did. Did you or do you ever sell Avon? (Shhh, a bunch of the Avon products are as good as the MK stuff - and more competitive, even when I could get MK wholesale. The Anew line that Avon has is excellent; oh, I currently have a rep. ;))
@alexisdiva9 Trust as an Avon rep I am not offended girl!! LMAO Glad to know that Mary Kay stuff is just as good quality as Avon. I have to though yield not to temptation of items in the outlet books which are the devil!! LOL
What kind of bad hair day was the Avon Lady having, eh? She never takes off her big dead animal hat, lol! I don't recall her ever visiting us personally, we always bought stuff from other people's brochures. I still have my lovely glass unicorn perfume holder with a splash of Sweet Honesty left. Ahh, memories.
I don't remember an avon lady coming to our door back in the 80s. Anyways I sell Avon and I love it.

My mom remembers living in a trailer park in the early 60's and having an avon lady come to her door.

These days, as others said, sales tend to be either online or via the biweekly bookets or in the case of the mark line, the monthly booklets.
