@thegypsy BUT I can understand some French people can be a little fed up by some scornful attitude - mostly by Americans (sorry...) - who come to France and expect EVERYONE to be speaking in English (most of people just don't speak English in France, except if they are students or if their profession is in tourism or trade!) and who don't even take the time to learn just a tiny bit of French (and this is valid for the rest of the world, not only in France!).

As Calikola said it, people in big cities can be very rude towards foreigners (Madrid was a terrible experience for me!) and even towards their fellow countrymen.
