This is probably your joystick. if you have a 4 blade, 8 way joystick, this can sometimes happen due to the maximus input sensitivity. check your joystick first. In fact, disconnect your ipac or mini ipac board and see does this error happen.
if it doesnt, then you know its your joystick.
If it still happens, then try asking the guys over at byoac.com on the forums.
Thanks TheLumberjackass. Subscribed. Very well put together training on how to use Maximus. Thank you Sir. I have Been searching for good step by step guide. I look forward to your next videos.
but just a little bit of a head's up. im currently in full-time education and im finding it impossible to make vids. im hoping to get a video out by xmas, but i cant promise anything :)
Hey i was wanting to know if you can help me with mame 0.143. I got the bios but non of the games work.I dont now how to update/get chds or update from 0.143 to 0.143u1 so on.Thanks in advance.
There is the man!!! Great to see another video from you bro!! This was a fantastic and easy to follow tutorial, you really do put a lot of work into these videos and are the man with serious wood.........working skills lol.
yeah, this vid took alot of time to make. mainly because its alot of video capturing, but there is loads of key-framing going on too that you wouldnt notice.
hopefully i'll have my next vid done alot quicker, but lately i dont have alot of time im afraid. however, i plan on doing some game views soon, which will all be rom based, so it'll be arcade only titles :)
i have the intro made, and r-type is my first title up. hoping to finish it by next month :)
i remember trying max for the first time, and i didnt know what was going on to be honest. if i had a video like this to help me, i know for a fact that i'd have my cab set up in a day. but it took much longer than that for me. i actually switched to atomic FE, but that started glitching badly, so i bought MA instead, and worked my way through it.
its a great programme. pity its been abandoned by its creator due to piracy.
Very good tutorial Dave, I always wondered how these front ends work since I never tinker around with one before. I'm guessing that Maximus is your favorite and best front end?
yep, maximus arcade is the best, and easiest front-end to use with mame and other emulators. its just so straight forward and easy to use. and the glitches are few and far between.
however, while ive had a few issues, it was user error rather than the software, but i figured it out eventually :)
Nice job on the tutorial, it's nice to see someone take the time to make a video that actually explains and not just shows off their setup. Can I ask you though, what program do you use to record as you are moving around your computer, and mame setup?
as for the screen capture software, i used camtasia studio. you can download a demo and use it for 30 days. what i usually do when the 30 days run out, is reformat my pc and dowload it again when i need to capture somethig in high quality.
as for moving around the screen, what your looking at are individually key-framed selections. i.e - i had to manually zoom in and out everytime i made an action on-screen.
This is a very good tutorial thank you

@321paden
for all mame help, you should contact the developers directly or ask a question on their forums. the tutorial is for maximus arcade set-up, not mame.

can i use parallel port in this front-end?
banig311 5 months ago
@banig311
to do what exactly ? you do realise that the parallel port is donkeys years old and is never used in this day and age.

You did a good job, you explained it well and maximus can be a bit daunting to some, but easy when you get the directories setup right.
