  • I was thinking "oh I'd definitely do a Dobby shrine" and then you said it, and that made me really happy.

  • I'd love to have a memorial to #10.

  • i was devastated when ianto died. i'm not exaggerating when i say the following. i was sitting on the couch with me knees tucked up to my chest and couldn't move for ten minutes.

  • Janto Jones;D I've been to cardiff bay so many times!

  • I would becouse LOVE DRWHO AND.................

  • Totally an Anya or Cordelia shrine. So, so sad....

  • WHAT?!? IANTO DIES?!?!?! NOOOO! I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF TORCHWOOD! :( Dang it. I kinda saw it coming though...

  • FOR SHERLOCK! I believe in Sherlock!

  • I miss Ianto

  • i would contribute to a shrine if it were of Doctor Who, Criminal Minds( majorly if it were Reid), Harry Potter(Dobby), Lord of the Rings, Teen Wolf and Supernatural.

  • i cried when ianto died, even after watching it 30 times

  • I could definatily see myself contributing to such a memorial. Whenever Dobby is mentioned, I get all like; "Dobby, whaaaah ;((((, why, oh, why???????!? :´´´C".

  • I am SO "passionate" about the POWER OF FIVE! Cant' wait till Antony Horowitz releases the last book!!

  • I love Ianto and everything, but where's the love for Owen and Tosh? Owen was my favorite character! I miss him soo much =(

  • Passion is one of the characteristics I apperciate the most in other people too. Guess that's why I love nerds.

  • I would definitely contribute to a character shrine I wouldn't make one but I would contribute and I'm passionate about travel, and other things

  • You mentioned my friend Katie! Ah, I adore her so very much :)

  • That pretty much discribes what I felt when I entered the bathroom in the Elephant House in Edinburgh the last weekend. xXx

  • Ahhh i've only just discovered your videos- where have you been all my life?:3 Your videos are all sososo amazing and brilliant and omg you just seem like the nicest person:') I was just wondering, do you have a job in London, and if so what is it and how do you plan your awesome life around it? xD

  • Whoa, that little shrine is super awesome! I was upset about (female character starting with T who also died around the same time on that show) too. Were there any mentions of her on there?

  • I get very emotional about the death of characters that I love but I don't think I would ever make a shrine to a fictional person

  • As part of ongoing attempts to inspire our class, my BritLit teacher randomly asked a few of us what we were passionate about. My response was Harry Potter, of course.

  • I get so upset every time a good character is killed off in any of my fandoms, I'd contribute to shrines for so many different characters. I just have a lot of feelings.

  • WOO! YES! LORD OF THE RINGS AND HARRY POTTER! :)

  • SNAPE SHRINE!!! All the way! I would probably cry at a Snape memorial

  • So jealous you were in Wales!! I studied abroad there and miss it :(

  • I loved Ianto, I totally cried when Ianto died...I will as soon as go to Cardiff add to that marmoreal.

  • I BELIEVE IN SHERLOCK HOLMES.

    'Nuff said.

  • Shameless contributor to that there walll

  • I chose Swansea University for my Erasmus year because I loved Torchwood that much. So yeah, I-m pretty passionate as well. Also, count on me for the Boromir shrine!

  • Dude, my letter is very on that board! n.n

  • am a contributor to that wall

  • I remember when SPOILER (although COME ON!) Ianto died I was REALLY cut up. I was on those blogs planning letters and buying coffee etc. So I'm really happy that this exists and if I ever go to Cardiff (I'm surprised I haven't already!) I will be adding to the shrine ^^

I believe in Sherlock Holmes and hope that there are Socks in heaven ^^

  • i feel bad about the amount of people harassing you over the swans/geese/whatever and spoilery things in the video. yeah, spoilers can suck but if knowing what will happen sucks the pleasure out of the entire reading/watching experience I feel bad for you. when I was watching buffy my friend accidentally told me about something that happens to willow at one point and yeah I was annoyed but that didn't stop me from watching and enjoying the rest of the show.

  • i miss Ianto and Captain Jack's storyline =[

  • Moriarty was real. I believe in Sherlock Holmes

  • Not naming the character for reasons of spoiling, but:

"I am a leaf on the wind. Watch how I soar."

  • Comment removed

  • That shrine is still up? It went up the summer Ianto died! Wow, I'm surprised it has lasted. I went to see it 1.5 years ago, looks exactly the same

  • I really like Harry Potter and the Hunger Games (: And I absolutely hated Prim's death!

  • @HeikedeWit I don't know if you followed the discussion in the comments, but this is a HUGE spoiler for those who haven't read the Hunger Games yet. I know the last book is over a year old, but I expect many people might start reading it now, since the first movie is out soon.

  • @freyaspins I'm really sorry! I really didn't mean it that way. But since I'm guessing my comment wasn't a top comment not a lot of people will have seen it. But I'm sorry for those I've spoiled it for :c

  • haha i didnt even notice the swans/geese mistake ^^

  • I definitely would contribute :)

  • hmm... yeah I can see myself posting things on a memorial for a character but really more as a nostalgic act or for fun, I really get attached to characters but I understand it is still fiction.

  • I enjoy Adam's cameo in this :)

  • I would say I am most passionate about choral music. Particularly with other teenagers, there is just something special about choir kids.

  • I love torchwood!! When Ianto got killed off I was really sad because he's like, my third favorite character. I would absolutely contribute to that shrine or most any doctor who shrine. Good thing Jack can't die =)

  • to the people who did make that memorial this kid salutes you.

  • Fred Weasley needs one of these!

  • I'M SO GLAD THAT MEMORIAL EXISTS!!! i have never screamed at a tv so much as when ianto died, it was such a shock. i definitely signed the online petition to bring him back....and had badges. not sure what it is about torchwood, i mean i adore Doctor Who but torchwood just inspires ultimate dedication. love it. plus cardiff is without dount THE BEST place to go for DW locations!x

  • I believe in Sherlock Holmes ---- there's your answer :)

  • Dobby shrine? NAME THE PLACE.

  • oh my god i would definitely do this for a character i loved. rip ianto <3

  • @owlssayhoot I understand your agruments, and I also think you have a point, but from the whole vibe from your previous videos and your time in FiveAwesomeGirls I have come to expect spoiler-alerts from you. You, and the other girls, have always been very careful about what and if you spoil people, so I just assumed your video was safe to watch. My bad, I will be more careful in the future, and of course I'm don't want you to base your videos on stuff like this.

  • All through mirical day I just wanted ianto jones to come back for a few seconds and say: 'i still can't act' that would be classic

  • That is most definitely something I would do...and a Harry Potter character memorial shrine needs to happen now!

  • A dobby shrine! This really needs to happen guys

  • I would have no hesitation to contributing to a memorial like this. I see nothing silly or mental about it.

Certain Harry Potter characters definitely warrant one. The free elf, for example. (I don't know if I need to avoid spoilers like this or not; it's my hope that there will always be new readers in the middle of Harry Potter, but it will always be a different cultural experience to read it years after it came out and permeated our culture. No one hesitates to say "No, Luke. I am...")

  • I'm not a huge fan of Torchwood but Children of Earth was by far the best series. But they probably shouldn't have killed off Ianto Jones. But thats Russell T Davies for you.

  • @owlssayhoot I did try to sound as least passive agressive as I could... I was actually thinking you may have been being sarcastic in saying that that they were geese. Still a great video though, Cardiff is one of my most loved places in the world =)

  • Have you heard of the #believeinsherlock movement that's going on? It's a response of the fans to the last episode, The Reichenbach Fall, where we put up posters and things declaring that Sherlock was not a fraud, that Moriarty was real and things like that. It's going on in quite a few countries. We've even had a London doubledecker change it's destination plate to #believeinsherlock for a bit. It's brilliant and the fandom is absolutely amazing.

  • @owlssayhoot I know LOTR came out a long time ago, and I didn't mean for you to be careful of THAT. But come on, two years ago? There's still people that follow these series on television in other countries, like me, where they haven't come on till now. I was so grateful when you didn't say the name of the character killed off, and then you go and SHOW it instead. I am not going to change my mind, this was poorly done.

  • @JuneHaarvik But if you saw a video TITLED about the show, surely you'd just avoid it? I'm not going to feel bad because a) I mentioned a character dying and if you were that worried, you could have left and b) they weren't airing it in the US either, but I watched it. I'm not going to base my videos on when television shows air in foreign countries. Sorry you got spoiled but honestly, two years is kind of a long time & it's not like I know when people are watching shows :P

  • Are you aware the geese you saw were actually swans?

  • @SherbetPips201 Haha YES. As it has been passive aggressively pointed out to me by about 60% of the comments.

  • I would totally contribute to this shrine and many more. Homestuck standing out the most because so many died so quickly. But Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Stargate, Buffy, Angel, (those last three have ended, but that doesn't matter.) Hunger Games, the list goes on forever. I'm wayy too into my fandoms.

  • hey Kayley cutie, muahhh... :-)

  • Definitely a Boromir shrine, that would be pretty nice. Dobby would be sweet. I also bought a "I believe in Sherlock Holmes" button the other day, so I'm apart of that I guess. I'm probably the type of person that would do this. And for Doctor Who, I would too...

  • I think the thing I'm most passionate about is music. I don't create it since I don't know how to play any instruments and don't have much of a singing voice, but going to concerts is one of my favorite activities. Also, just experiencing a song or album can be very surreal sometimes. I just find music is such a wonderful manifestation of ideas and emotions; it makes you feel things.

  • When I got to Cardiff I will most definitely be contributing to that sign.

  • Well... you know. SHERLOCK!

  • SWANS!!! THEY'RE SWANS, NOT GEESE!!!

(and they're my swans, I watch them nesting in the Taff every year)

  • @mugglemeweasley WOW OKAY I GET IT. I get it, people. They are swans. Can we just move on?

  • @owlssayhooot -- XD I'm just a bit protective and possessive of them (I love them so much), so I apologise for the all caps..... but seriously, there are hundreds of them that live along the river and bay. They snort too. You can go by the boat launch area in Grangetown to feed them, and they just snort. It's hilarious.

  • Let me see...obsessions. Where to start. I'm also a very passionat person and I guess I take pride in it. My friends sometimes introduses me as Synnøve, she's the crazy harry potter girl. So I guess Harry Potter is my ultimate obssesions, but im quite into lotr, doctor who, nana, certain characters from books like the hunger games and jane austen novels. im also passionate about posters and paper outcuts and books in general and more recently films

  • When they killed off Nathan Petrilli in Heroes, that really pissed me off enough to stop watching the show altogether. And I thought he had the coolest power of them all (to just lift yourself off the ground and fly away from your problems).

  • Im very passionate about most things in my life: knowledge, GOOD music, lotr, harry potter, star wars, anime, the hunger games (i want a wall for a certain person, dont want to spoil though) gaming, youtube, reading, And just most things i do in life. It sounds like a list of things that i like but i am

    Genuinly passionate about them.

  • I sorta did something like this for Dr Beckett in Stargate Atlantis. And what do you know! They brought him back!

  • When I first discovered your channel, I watched about 20-25 of your videos at once whilst eating chocolate chip ice cream. Now every time I hear your voice, I crave chocolate chip ice cream. It's weird how the mind works like that.

  • My fandoms include Harry Potter, Star Wars, YouTube in general (that counts, right?) and Coldplay. -3 I wouldn't doubt that there's a similar type of shrine somewhere in the world for the first two. :)

  • passions: Doctor Who, Harry Potter, LoTR, and Sherlock. I would totally make a shrine.

  • Music, food, Sherlock, history :)

  • My Passions are Youtube, music and Dr Who. Those are the things I love and believe that I could not live without

  • nathan leaving misfits :'(

  • DOBBY SHRINE NEEDS TO HAPPEN ANYONE AGREE PM ME WE NEED TO SET THIS UP!!! also I am obviously a passionate Harry Potter fan but first and foremost I am a passionate musical theatre fan GO WEBBER AND SONDHEIM!!!!!

  • My passion is music.

  • I removed the comment I posted concerning TFIOS spoilers. I really wasn't thinking when I posted it an I apologize to anyone who had the ending spoiled because of my comment.

  • My passion has always been animals. I've wanted to be a zoo veterinarian since I was old enough to know what that meant.

  • I would say shrine for David Tennet but that's long over due.

  • Well great, that top comment just ruined the ending of TFIOS for me

  • @suckamollypop Sorry =/

  • @owlssayhooot My passion is literature, music, and travel. I loved this video! I actually have a tattoo on my wrist that says passion. It is one of my favourite qualities within myself, and others.

  • i have a lot of feelings for the star trek franchise, photography in general, sweaters, socks and tights, i'm a huge advocate for trying to get more multicultral stories in steampunk or just more of a variety of all the things in steampunk and i can't hold all the feels i have for movies.

    a bloo bloo bloo.

  • Not trying to be mean, but I think this shows how passionate people are about the shows they watch verses their actual lives....*twitch*

  • HE DIDN'T DIE! I REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT! IT NEVER HAPPENED! My theory is that he was transported in time by some weird future timelord technology and is now happily living in 23024 with Jack. DO NOT TELL ME OTHERWISE. I don't think I could take it...

  • @Pixiesoapbox What happens in 23024? That is a long way off in the future?

  • @ActuallyLiam It's the year that all people who die in television series that I don't want to die actually get transported to. It's far enough in the future that I'll never see them again, but I can make my peace with that if I know they're happy there. And not dead.

  • Off topic, but you look lovely in this video :)

  • AHHHH! You recommended thestrangemango!? She's so great! :D Awesome!

  • HAHAHAHA those are swans not geese! don't you have swans in America?

  • I would do this for movies but I think in tv shows we should respect the actor's decision to leave.

  • @Aliceliddell42 It's not always the actor's decision...

  • @Taschenrechner123 fair point and I honestly don't know enough about this show to make a fair judgement.

  • @Aliceliddell42 Actually, I meant it in general, in this particular case, the actor who played Ianto Jones had no choice but to leave:

    digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s8/torchwood/tubetalk/a165637/gareth-david-lloyd-talks-torchwood-exit.html

  • good

  • @EmilyTakesontheWorld more like GREAT, Emily

  • Ahh, my contribution is still on the shrine!! (two years later o_o) I love the Ianto shrine, I think it's a great example of this community's devotion and commitment to the show and its actors. I love how we all just come together to make awesome things like this! ^^

  • A shrine to all things Andy Serkis definitely methinks

  • All the people dying in Harry Potter... Damn that made me cry...

  • what happened to twilight? you used to be a big fan am i right?

  • @sleepingraspberry When I was fourteen...?

  • @owlssayhooot so why the change of heart?

  • Ahhh spoilers for me :(

  • please tell me you have seen that picture of Boromir with the caption "one arrow to the knee? That was all it took?"

  • @jamreaper I really, really don't find Skyrim jokes funny :P

  • I'd be too busy romping around the waterfront being all "Whee! This is just like home!" at the wharves and public art installations in Cardiff to remember to leave something at that memorial. Harbour cities are <3.

Although if I did remember, I'd leave either some fancy coffee beans or tea leaves.

However, most of my major fandom loves either ended happily or ended unhappily in a place that doesn't exist on Earth. Or whose best mementoes to leave would be ones that are intangible.

  • Oh good grief! Those "geese" were swans! You don't have to be an ornathologist to know that!

  • Hope to bump into you in the Who convention! I'm going alone so might try and bribe you all with coffee and pizza to be my frieds for the day ;)

  • Umm they are swans not geese... Love the video though :)

  • IANTO WHY WOULD YOU REMIND ME OHH>H

  • I was so mad when they killed him, and I am still not over it.

  • LOL, thanks for having me in there for 2 seconds outside Eddie's! :P

And thanks to the people telling me I was in this vid xD. I wouldn't have noticed otherwise xD.

  • Maybe a little warning about SPOILERS would be in order?!?! JESUS, I AM SO SPOILED RIGHT NOW!

  • @JuneHaarvik THESE THINGS ALL CAME OUT AT LEAST TWO YEARS AGO. Lord of the Rings came out in 1954. I am not giving a spoiler warning for things that came out over fifty years ago!

  • @owlssayhooot I thought LOTR came out in the 1930s... or did Tolkein write it then and publish it much later in the 1950s... just wondering. I know you are filled with literary knowledge.

  • @climbordie7 The Hobbit came out in 1937. The Lord of the Rings was written between 1937 and 1949 and was published in 1954 and 1955. Hope that helps. =)

  • I would definetly contribute to a Doctor Who shrine. I don't want any of them to die! Not Eleven, not Rory and not Amy! Oh dear... Please don't kill the Ponds!

  • Oh heavens, my first and most favorite show Chuck. It ended last night and I am ruined. Is my pile of tissues a good start for a shrine? Or perhaps a future offering?

  • I think it is awesome when any community comes together to in that way. Thats why I love Nerdfighteria! Adam is awesome! Swans...

  • I would most definitely contribute to that shrine!

  • I'm actually very excited as a Cardiffian you visited as so many Americans don't even understand/know about Wales :)

  • Oh God, Boromir most definitely I would contribute. I was in live with him in middle school and he has always had a special place in my heart. Plus LOTR is part of the reason I bonded with my best friend, whom I met almost 10 years ago. :)

  • I would never invest myself like that into a fictional character. I reserve that for real human beings.

But my passions: tabletop role-playing games, reading non-fiction, YouTube, collecting weapons & LED flashlights.

  • the thing about the lotr and hp series is that they are movies and before that books franchises like these though have a large following the connection between the fans and the makers are some what depleated a tv series can allow fans ideas if put forward early and work with the story. but preset stories (from books) that dont allow a lot of leeway for things like this i may take part in a shrine like this but not for a book or moive charater but a tv charater.

  • Ooo my most missed character... can I say obi wan kenobi? Also they were swans :)

  • I would definitely contribute to any Harry Potter shrine, except if it was for Voldemort of course. I think if they for some reason decided to kill Arthur off in Merlin I would probably start a shrine of my own! And I kinda feel like starting a shrine every time a doctor goes. Matt Smith must stay!

  • Comment removed

  • I is from Cardiff, but I missed this hangout due to being in Bristol and busy and such at the time. Tha shrine...THAT shrine...if I'm honest...it creeps me out a bit. Maybe it's 'cause I don't know the character, but that's just my main reaction whenever I see it. I'm not that passionate about stuff, though, so perhaps being dead inside is the main reason it creeps me out!

  • One death that broke my heart was of course Fred's death.I still can't read that entire chapter without crying. Also,I am entirely in love with the I believe in Sherlock Holmes thing, and if they killed off Amy and Rory permanently, then I would be really upset as well.

  • "There's just a reflection on my eyeballs"

  • It's Adam!

  • Dobby and Fred shrines, definitely! Also we need memorials for the fallen in the wizarding wars, just like the ones in DC for the actual world wars.

  • I'm still sad about how Tara died. And Fred. And Jadzia Dax... and Marcus Cole. And the last two of those I didn't even watch when they came out the first time.

  • We need a shrine for all the casualties of the first and second wizarding wars!!

  • I would say that I am very passionate about learning as well as reading (even though a lot of times they go hand in hand) and I guess my set of social beliefs. Because they aren't quite political but tat's how people interpret them sometimes.

  • I was on this website where people type in "I love you more than...." and put something. I saw: "I love you more than Ianto loved Jack". I started bawling. Not even kidding.

  • I would definitely contribute to a Harry Potter character shrine.

  • Haha I love that you suggested thestrangemango at the end! She's so great!! :)

  • You always traveling .

  • DOBBY SHRINE! I would add to that :)

  • Thank you for not "spoiling" it :)

  • SPOILER ALERT!: List of shrines - Fred Weasley, Ianto Jones, The 10th Doctor (I know the Doctor's not dead, but I still miss 10), Tosh (from Torchwood), Spike, Prim, Finnick, Alaska.

  • If it was for Keith from One Tree Hill? Oh, hell yes. :p

  • Boromir shrine definitely! <3 i still cant watch that scene without crying D:

    Sirius shrine as well. <3

  • Doctor Who. Always Doctor Who.

    Also, Harry Potter. :)

  • Wow. Totally just realized you're the kayley from "to kayley, who is sad" -____-

Weird to think that you were in England last year around Christmas and that you probably never expected to be back in England THIS YEAR. What a lucky dog :)

  • I'm most passionate about knowledge and learning from everyone around me and teaching them as well. I fear a time when my passion for learning dies down and hope that never happens.

  • i like your hair in this video

  • RIP Dobby. <3

You will always be my favourite character. I can now never read a passage regarding you without welling up.

  • @scopsetara spoilers.

  • @scopsetara SPOOOOILERS. I HAVEN'T FINISHED THE BOOK YET. SHEESH.

  • @scopsetara Dude, uncool. I thought we'd all agreed to keep a lid on this until like, mid-February?.

  • What's Doctor Who?

  • @TeeAreify o.o Really? XD You subscribe to Kayley and you don't know? That is just peculiar! It's an amazing British TV show and you should check it out!

  • Thank you so so so so much for sharing this. As someone who passionately loves the show, I've always wanted to go to Cardiff and it's really nice to be able to witness that memorial.

God Torchwood, why must you kill off all my favorites </3

  • i have posted i believe in sherlock signs up at my school.

  • That shrine is still there? I remember hearing about it but I wouldn't have thought... Wow. (I read Russell's book, though. He wasn't about to retract anything). For me it's Doctor Who, certainly, old love Harry Potter, and current heart wringer The Dresden Files. Others pass in and out, but they're more ephemeral :)
