@omlas6 Judging from your comments, you sound like a DJ Hero fanboy. DJ Hero was a gimmick. Activision was just trying to squeeze the last bit of milk out of Guitar Hero. Beatmania has over 16 different versions. How many DJ Heros? 2 (I think).

My only complaint is the US turntable for Beatmania is very weak.

stepmania skill doesn't translate to bms skill, when i see stepmania, i see four arrows pointing in four directions, when i see bms, i see 7 keys like a piano and a dj scratch, my brain doesnt see them as being the same, i can AAA a couple of songs, but the first time i tried bms, it took me the whole day to pass Pink Rose on Normal

@pdilla Yeah, so 8 buttons for 10 fingers and 10 toes would be even easier? It's not the ratio of hitters/buttons that makes it hard or easy; it's mostly just the buttons, regardless of how many hitters you have. The more buttons, the more your brain has to process at the same time. 7 buttons is harder for 10 fingers than 4 buttons is for 2 feet, in every single way. Just like 4 buttons for 4 fingers would even be harder than 2 buttons for 1 finger.

@ClanDsD Not necessarily; I think it actually translates to how the person's brain works. Some people are good at Stepmania but not Beatmania. Some people are good at Beatmania but not Stepmania. Some people are good at both and some people can do neither. I believe it also has to do with button layout. I'm decent at Beatmania but the scratch always catches me off-guard. However I am much better at Stepmania - this is because I'm a lot more coordinated when using one hand as opposed to two.

Stepmania isn't really that similar, there are only keys to press while IIDX has 7 and plus the 8th additional thing

Stepmania solo has 6 keys. Plus it's a hand/finger rhythm game. It is relatively similar to Beatmania comparative to the majority of video games these days. Plus, you could raise the judging to make the timing more difficult to emulate Beatmania's judgment.

No he hates it because it seems like EVERYONE thinks that you have to memorize all of the notes in a song to play a music game well, when in fact rarely does anyone memorize a song. It take a lot more time and effort to memorize a song then learning how to read the notes in a game. Yes, IIDX is very difficult to master. No, no one who is good memorizes the notes to all of the songs.
