@TommittajaFIN I agree absolutely. but back then... I had a small Peavey Rage 158 and a Boss MT2. This pedal cannot have lighter gain and somehow it always reminded me of a horde of bees :)))

hordes was actually one of the first songs i tried to learn when i was like 10 or something because there was a tab in guitar techniques (back in the day!) so i picked up a lot of things from that. there's a lot of weird things he does in it, hope i explained them ok. as for the monster legato passages and sick glissando lick, you're on your own. good luck and happy shredding!

The rig is awful Jackson-Boss MT-2 (yes, I know!) - Boss CE5 - Boss DD6 - Peavey Rage 158 - Skype mic with the mp3 played through the speakers, and they are positioned near the mic, so that the backing could be captured... :D:D:D

you have great timing and a good feel for the song. however a few points specific to "hordes" - at 0:40 the random palm harmonics joe plays are actually pretty easy. brush the side of your pinky lightly up and down the A string over the pickups while your left hand plays a trill and you'll get the effect.
the weird bleeping noise - mute the strings with your left hand and run something smooth and rounded (e.g. an empty water bottle)

I've been listening to Satch since the late 80's and I gotta say this cat has some skills...I too thought it was Joe at first then I realized that the guy is playin a Jackson w/ a shark fin inlay? No?
Just a bit of constructive criticism...A little less treble would do you good--I suggest you turn down the tone knob on your guitar to about 1/4 or so, as that will give you a much more pleasant and "Satriani-like" tone. The sound is quite harsh as is. Apart from the treble overdose, though, the effects are nice.

Equing, even in its simplest form - just with the tone knob is something that needs a lot of practice and confidence in your ears to get the hang of. Creative Live! Webcam, one of the cheapest out there but not the cheapest. I do not know what happens but this and The Extremist videos are with a distorted pic and out of sync. Other than that if you want to get nice results from anywebcam - put a LOT of lightning and you would see immediately the results :) Thanks for the comment!
Because it is this, the ham backer use is unpleasant. The sound is dirty. The badness.

Hi-I would recommend a Sennheiser MD421, for mic- And that should clean up your sound a great deal-Keep up the Great playing!
