Wow, a lot of people missed the point of this movie, which is that reasonable ideas can get corrupted and snowball into hate, prejudice, and racism. It all starts with Derek's father discussing how affirmative action is bullshit. Realistically, affirmative action, while it has good intentions, is incredibly flawed. But Derek ends up taking ideas like this too far and to extreme points. Derek is obviously an intelligent person, but his mind got corrupted with hate and he turned into this.
Derek some very valid points but his racism and hate speech are of course unacceptable. He goes from validity to stupidity pretty fast but this movie as a whole I think is great cuz it addresses an ever growig problem that the US is facing, and that's the problem of anti-white racism and the fact that its programmed into white kids that our community is the one that's biased.

Wow, a lot of people missed the point of this movie, which is that reasonable ideas can get corrupted and snowball into hate, prejudice, and racism. It all starts with Derek's father discussing how affirmative action is bullshit. Realistically, affirmative action, while it has good intentions, is incredibly flawed. But Derek ends up taking ideas like this too far and to extreme points. Derek is obviously an intelligent person, but his mind got corrupted with hate and he turned into this.

He goes from validity to stupidity pretty fast but this movie as a whole I think is great cuz it addresses an ever growig problem that the US is facing, and that's the problem of anti-white racism and the fact that its programmed into white kids that our community is the one that's biased.

Ed Norton is a VERY good actor. Much like Joaquin Phoenix in Gladiator. I hated that fuck watching the movie, but if people can stir emotions out of you like that, then they are doing their jobs.

It really reflects the cultural and social weakness of Americans and humans in general that they still much create a hierarchy, or even a grouping based on race.
