Dang man, you gotta remove the cat... get the midpipe. When my pipe is off, the exhaust is freakin deafening. With yours it sounds pretty good hahahah. So restrictive...
i got a shop close to my house called D&D yes the ones they sell round the world and i got them to make me a moto gp style exhaust for my r6 its amazing added some power to
i think it sound better without the slip ons.... the only function for a lip on in this bikes (with the silencer and muffler is still under the bike) is for looks and to direct the exhaust gases, it has nothing to do with performance and apparently doesnt do much for the sound, i wonder if you could just go to you local muffler shop and make your own gp megaphone slip on with a pice of tube.
@gggromay you'er right that the slip on is mainly only for looks and yes you could have any muffler shop custome make a megaphone slip on. However, there is a noticable difference in feel and sound with the headers and midpipe on the bike.
@ICTshockerGTS I absolutely agree with you, headers are the true way to go.
And for anybody considering a slip on, consider that the stock can is pretty much straight like any slip on ive seen, i could think that most of the sound improvement comes from removing the exup valve more then the aftermarket slip ons its self, the actual oem silencer-muffler is still in there, the major difference from a stock to other cans is the absence of the exup valve.
@Pandanobear no the slip-on M4 was like $250 and i just installed an MJS performance header and midpipe that ran like $300ish and the sound is much louder now, check out my other videos I have one comparing the M4 with factory headers and the M4 with MJS headers
i have seen no changes at all from removing the EXUP. I still get around 130-140 per tank (i usually fill it around the 100 mark), there is no difference in the feel of the bike, and from everything i have gathered is that EXUP is only there for sound on the R6, on the R1 since it is infront of the CAT then it will have an effect on performance but only slightly, mainly it is sound supression.
yeh i currently have a hotbodies undertail with a customLED taillight and tightbikez tag bracket check the video responses to this video i posted a link there.
i took them both off the rollers on the servo motor and then i had to clip the cables to get them through the clamps that hold them in place and then just slide the cables out.
10500 ? when did you bought it ? Cuz last year my friend bought the same exact year and color for 9500 out the door. and i bought mine (Yamaha racing Blue) for 9300 out the door.
Nice sound this is the exact exhaust i was going to get for my 08. Can you send me too instruction or a pic of how/ what you did with the EX-up sensors. Do you fell as if you lost any torque by removing the Ex-up. thanks
I have noticed no loss of power or torque from not having the Ex-up valve in the exhaust (it is mainly there as sound suppression on the R6). Infact there is a slight increase in power response over stock. Just message me your email and i will send you the pics a brief how-to on the ex-up removal.
i only bought the slip on so it only replaced the factory muffler the cat is still there and there is a large canister right before the slip on. I wanted to change the sound a little and still have budget for undertail, and windscreen for now.

got mine $8,400 out the door in june...
got a question though... do you still get 140 to the tank? im pretty sure that the exup system helps with the gas mileage

sounds pretty quiet for a bike with no muffler; is there a premuffler/catalytic converter you forgot to take off?
