How long should these innocent people suffer. why LTTE can' t set these innocent people free to go anywhere they want. I dont think ,LTTE would be able to bring the liberty to these innocents taking them as hostages. tamil diaspora and the world community should stand against not only the Sri Lankan Government but also to push LTTE to release these innocents.

No reporter could go to the war zone in Sri Lanka and report independently. Why is that? Who is preventing them? It goes without saying that it's the Sri Lankan Govt. Now, what do they have to hide there?
When a BBC reporter last time braved the govt and ventured into the rebel territory, she was shot by the Sri Lankan forces on her return. This was amid she was screaming to not be shot..! She is a white lady and couldn't possibly be mistaken for a rebel..! So much for press freedom..!

But the LTTE relentlessly pursued its stupid war, it quit direct negotiations with the government in late April 2003. That paved the way to current govt into power in November 2005. i think they should have a moral obligation to report it no matter how long it's been going on innocent ppl are losing their lives and the violence is only getting worse..maybe i have to much faith in my fellow states men but i think it matters to them
