I grew up in Garden Grove, California & Grammy lived in Hermosa Beach. As a yearly ritual my parents drove us through Christmas Tree Lane on way home from Grammy's house on Christmas Eve. It is part of my greatest memories as a child, so glad to know some things stay the same or even get better,I would have loved to take my own kids there but I don't live in California anymore
I take Palos Verdes south past Sepulveda and look for the little sign to turn left into the area. "Linda Dr" I believe. Last year they actually had electric CalTrans signs for the light show. I found this place by accident. I was coming home from OSH and PCH was totally slammed by some kind of parade or something and as I cut through the side streets of South Torrance = "whoa, what is this? This is cool!"
I lived in this area in the same house for 40 years. Went to Seaside and South High. Moved away in 1999. Everyone asks, don't you miss the beach, etc. No I don't but I miss the christmas spirit very much. I do decorate our 10 acres at christmas. It's not the same affect as street after street. Thank you sleepy hollow for the wonderful long lasting memeories. Oh I'm trying to get down there and do a sleigh ride(with my horses) during christmas week. Wouldn't that be great fun.
they have it every year from december 1 to new years this kid sells hot chocolate for 50 cents on the top of reese rd so rember to bring money for hot chocolate
hell yeah this beez da best christmas display on earth. if you go to calle mayor and pch you can buy a big bag of crank for abput 20.00. god is great.
I live in these streets and Christmas is seriously my favorite time of year. I love decorating my house and sitting outside watching everyone admire my hard work. It takes DAYS to decorate our houses like we do. My little brother loves to sell hot chocolate and you would be surprised as to how much money he makes. Sitting by the bonfire is so much fun!!
That sounds about right to me. This is one of the best special lighting areas that I have seen in several states. The winding little streets give it a real small town feel.
A friend took me there once, about 8 years ago. I have always wanted to take my kids there. Can anyone give me an exact address or an idea on how to get there. Thank You
Being a former resident of Torrance, I sure as hell miss the holidays there. You would drive through the streets there and they would be sing christmas carols. Selling hot chocolate and floresent rings while sitting around a fire pit on the driveway. We would go to Starbucks by Ralph's or the one on Sepulveda and Anza and head up that way. In Tennessee there is nothing like that. Or at least we haven't found an area like this. One of these days I have to make it back there for the lights.
I AGREE!!! I have lived all over both coasts (But I was born and raised in Redondo Beach) and there is NOTHING like this....it is really special! I hope they never stop doing this there!!! I plan on moving back home in the next three years, and I can't WAIT to be close to this again!! My daughter has seen this a few times, but my Son, who is 5 has not! I can't wait to see his reaction! we hopefully will make it out this year to visit!
Thanks for sincere landing and traveling the realm. Good to ride solar winds. Sometimes the navigations run amuck but hey, out beyond there where we visit other systems; sure feels fine to have a friend. Kind regards starz

Most of the lights go up the weekend after christmas... it depends on the house when they come down.

go to PCH and Calle Mayor, Torrance. turn onto Calle Mayor. It's in that area. Usually you can follow all the cars going there too.
