  • idk get how he won

  • stay in your fucking feet balck and yellow!!!!!!!!!

  • apart from the lines this seems almost identical to squash can someone compare them for me? ive played squash for 5 years now but ive never heard of racquetball until recently

  • Racquetball!!!

  • why did the first guy lose?

  • Yeaaahhh. I use to be a pro but I got atheritusCosicos.

Oh yeah! I also to an arrow to the knee. D:

  • the original game from which squash came was originally played in the UK and is still played at a few private clubs and some of the top private schools. It's called Rackets. It was so difficult that they had to invent an easier version called Squash Rackets (remember this was the full name of the game we now call Squash). This easier version was developed at Harrow School in the Uk because Rackets is so fast. Youtube it. It's the fastest ball game thereis and makes squash and rball look tame.

  • Did anyone else see how he lost? He hit himself in the face with the ball XD

  • Tennis is better in my opinion. And yes, I have played racquet ball before. It's just that tennis is more fun. :3

  • my friend has the world record for youngest female

  • @MultiLollipop17 My friend's name is Sam. He has the world record for biggest douche.

  • This is really hardcore!

  • Amazing court coverage on this video. It is posted on a great blog called the Racquetball Strategy Blog if you want more great tips.

  • Interesting, but it's kinda very agressive I bet the accidents are comon!

  • Why do people play racquetball when there is squash? Is it because there is more power hitting? Don't get it....

  • Such an under-rated sport!

  • i dont get it?

  • racquetball = harder than tennis, faster, more intense, yet tennis has women who dress scampi to sell their names. you walk onto a racquetball court with the intention of killing the ball and your opponent. by far a better sport than most others.

  • @frokid17 I see what you mean, it looks like I'd die trying it. What's the difference between this and squash?

  • @Shodai24 just look on youtube for squash. I am sure you'll see the difference off the bat. the racquets are longer and smaller as compared to that of racquetball. In my opinion racquetball should be aired on tv more often with all the other big sports but sadly isnt D=

  • I'm playing this sport right now as a PE at my college. Before that I did tennis. I sucked terribly at tennis, but i'm much better at this sport. :) Plus, I like the fact it's indoors! haha.

  • i only watched this cuz i like how bouncy racquetballs are when i go to walmart

  • 240p -.-

  • squash>racqueball imho

  • on that first rally, as impressing as it is, I think that rally is the result of poor shotmaking from jason, he shoul've rolled out at least 4 set ups

  • So.... is this Squash?

  • @TheKwynez

Nope Racquetball, different rules , the balls are made out of different stuff (effecting play) , The serve is different . And Racquetball you can get the roof .

  • @TheKwynez the title of the video is "Racquetball"

  • @BlastFromYesterday

    ok. bitch, thx for reading

  • holy shit. who won that last rally

  • @justinp5960 Rueben won that last rally

  • @Kabob55 nice

  • @noizereduction The gloves in racquetball are for giving the player a better grip. You could lose your grip during your swing and it could cause you to skip the ball or hit it high giving your opponent a good set-up to kill the ball. As for the sweatbands, they are used to prevent players from sweating on their goggles mid rally which would obstruct their vision and may cause them to lose the point. Every point matters :)

  • o.O raquetball is so sick!! why isnt this on TV!!

  • @TheDCmonkee he hit himself with the ball

  • @blogsdo12 yea i know

  • why did he fall over

  • @noizereduction idk wat the headbands r for but the glove work wonders cuz if you don't hav them while ur playing u can easily loose ur grip and you'll end up with a ton of blisters

  • So what exactly happened there? He had a brain melt mid game, and everyone gave him a standing ovation?

What's with the headbands and gloves and all that crap? Tennis seems to have a sense of style that few other sports ever cared to have.

  • @noizereduction Racquetball players don't step on the court to make a fashion statement, they step on the court to fucking play.

  • @noizereduction That's because sports aren't about style. They are about playing the sport.

  • Lol fake tennis.

  • @soltercanis fag

  • @soltercanis Racquetball has almost nothing to do with tennis. With the exceptions of using similar equipment, getting two chances to land a serve in on each point, and the one-ground-bounce rule, the two sports are different in pretty much every way imaginable.

  • This vid doesn't do racquetball justice. Once you play it, you get hooked. It's not as fun to watch as football, but it is a blast to play

  • Similar, but not the same! Squash has more rules and different style of racquet. and squash ball is quite a bit different than the racquetball. The racquetball is bigger and much more lively.

  • @JEALSTI I've always wondered what the difference was. We don't have racquetball that I'm really aware of in the UK. Lots of squash though.

  • I played racquetball for the first time the other day. Got my butt kicked, but I can see that it's going to be very addicting.

  • Seriously people, WHY would you EVEN bother watch a sport on youtube if you think it's gay? Every single sport is fun in its own way, and that's why there are so many, so people can choose. If you call a sport gay, too bad, you're only one person out of 6.6 billion. So basically no one.

  • racquetball wtf this is squash!

  • @Sudstah you are so right.

  • @lckoth32 You must have the luck of a freakin Irish leperchaun if you think you can learn how to pinpont the ball into the wall with the presicion these guys have with their racquets in 5 minutes... just sayin'

  • racquetball can be fun, but handball (american/irish) is a real man's game

  • @lckoth32 no handball is gay. why wouldnt u just use a racquet? ldo. trust me i played it, just hurts your hand, and those who like handball are in denial that it doesn't hurt your hand.

  • @bukk3t are you kidding? if you hit the ball the right way or grow a set of balls, it doesnt hurt at all. its much more difficult than racquetball and doesnt just take 5 minutes to learn how to play.

  • @lckoth32 ha seriously dude i prefer with my hand idk? thats what im use to doing atleast.

  • RRRRACQUET BALL!

  • today i have my frist racquetball class :D

  • @Zetio21 you must be gay

  • damn thats insane

  • I love racquetball it’s my favourite sport. But I wish I could as good as these guys.

  • i play squash 4 times a week and i have never played racquet ball i thought they were the same but i looks like racquet ball is a much faster and dangerous game cos i see the ball going all over the place!

  • holy shhhhhhh

  • haha their flyin all over the place!!!!!!!

  • wow, what happens if the ball goes over the clear wall?...?

  • If the server hits it over the back wall, the possession changes. If the player who isn't serving hits it over the back wall, the server scores a point.

  • @greatwise12 If the server hits it over the back wall, the possession changes. If the player who isn't serving hits it over the back wall, the server scores a point.

  • I just started playing this sport, I played squash before, this is by far the best sport i've ever played!!

  • y r all the racquet sports so underrated by most sports fans, yet they r all so epic?

  • @FF18Cloud i play racqueball three times a week competitively with A-level players -- love it. it's not as classy as tennis, which is also an awesome sport, but racquetball is so fun.

people who aren't interested in it have obviously never played it.

racquetball is not a spectator sport though. ball goes too fast to get the appreciation it deserves.

    cheers

  • @Fernandez218 bullcrap, of course racquetball is a spectator sport. Nothing is more exciting and adrenaline pumping than watching Kane play, well except maybe playing the sport oneself

  • @armatold i was speaking in context of other sports. racquetball is not a high-quality spectator sport like tennis or even squash. i'm not even going compare it to football or basketball -- staying within the racket region.

and going on to another point, racquetball is doesn't get media attention for two main reasons:

    a) it's still young and b) the aforementioned issue(s)

  • @FF18Cloud cause the rooms to small, its not like it can be played at a stadium, people like big teams and big places

  • @FF18Cloud like squash.....

  • @FF18Cloud can't make a lot of money. Team sports tend to be more entertaining.

  • @ChocolatePoop1301 that kinda depends on which racquet sport you play, and how successful you become. champion tennis players can make millions. another thing is that racquetball is not the best sport to air on TV. it's kinda awkward to film and such. I've only seen one racquetball event on TV.

  • omg I FREAKIN LOVE RACQUETBALL!!! HAHAHA EVEN THOUGH ME AND MY FRIENDS PLAY DODGEBALL WITH IT LOL.

  • is thr no tin?

  • wait, so, unlike squash, you can hit the ball anywhere on the wall? The only way to make a point is if the other guy doesn't get the ball before it bounces twice or if it doesn't get to the wall? Well that's kinda easy since the ball bounces so much. Is there no 'out'? That kinda sucks. That makes it too easy.

  • @SLASHdaROCKER Really? Because the ball moves faster, that means it's "easier" for BOTH parties, which makes it all relative, AND returns are made more difficult for the aforementioned reasons. It's a different game, stop comparing them.

  • @SLASHdaROCKER you should play it before you knock it. I guarantee you it won't be easy against a knowledgeable player.

  • @DerrMon One day I'd like to play it.

  • who made the point?!

  • its squash.....

  • no it isn't

  • I tried racquetball out a few times. Didn't enjoy it much There is an unnatural premium placed on power and absolutely none on finesse. Prefer squash anyday.

  • There are admittedly players who are all power oriented. It depends on the people you were around.

I would much rather play against someone who just plays "bang ball" than a good finesse player. Finesse/Placement players are far more frustrating for me to play than a Power player.

I have never played squash, but have watched it, and would like to play, but I already have too many hobbies! My wife would kill me if I started ANOTHER sport.

  • to a layman like me that was simply unbelievable.

  • This game here, looks like not a game.

Maybe its the only thing thats not a game.

Might call it sports. Still if you look again, you see they are doing something that is not seen in any other mindful automation.

  • ignorant

  • esto es un deporte de bestias. sin tecnica

  • jestes pacan

  • vergonzoso. no tiene nada que ver con el squash. me parece que se juega en plan bestia sin ninguna técnica.

  • squash is where it's at. and im only saying that because i haven't played RB. but it does look pretty sick

  • Racquetball is 3D. Tennis is 2D. I think someone as moronic as yourself is perfectly suited for tennis.

  • It's not really a matter of 3D or 2D, both Tennis and Racquetball have their hard spots, and their easy spots. Almost everywhere on a Racquetball court is considered "in", not so much with a Tennis court. But then it's "3D" and not "2D". It's like comparing football with baseball.

  • yeah i agree

  • kdublee, i see your point to an extent, but the racquetball racquet has that tether, and I think you actually can use both hands like a tennis backhand i see people use. I think the reason that a person is not allowed to switch hands is because of that tether. I never checked , but maybe the rules explain the tether.Safety maybe? I hope you can find your answer. i don't have the answer, just a thought as to why it is the way it is. Im curious to see the answers you get here.

  • The tether, which is a required safety precaution, would make it impossible, sorry. You would have to remove the tether, which would endanger the other player.

  • @kdublee

I don't have a reason just a verification. In baseball a switchhitter may not switch hands in the same 3 - out batting period. In racquetball, you may not switch hands in the same rally.

  • You can, just you have to wear a tether on both hands =) Good luck with that and see how you play.

  • whats the difference between raquetball and squash?

  • squash is in a smaller room and the ball does not bounce as "good" as a racquetball ball. you need more power for squash.

of course scoring is different as well.

  • @tylkopolak

You don't necessarily need to have "power" in order to succeed in squash, and neither do you need it for racquetball. It's all mechanics.

  • good question

i thought they were the same...

  • the games are similar but squash has more out of bounds areas. squash also uses smaller racquets, has a smaller court, and the ball isn't as bouncy. it kinda 'drops' when it hits the wall, as compared to racquetball, where it bounces off with much more force and speed.

  • i've got no clue on how to play but do u have to get the ball through a hole and are both the playera on a team or against each other?

  • i can't really explain how to play it but i know there's no hole;)

  • oh ok, well the game is confusing though

  • lol no but that sounds kinda fun...the holes are a part of the wall but are clear for cameras to take pics or record.

basic rules are hit the ball against the wall without it hitting the floor first and get to it before it bounces twice. you play against each other like tennis

  • i'll admit this game is really fast paced and intense, but it just doesn't have the flow or the beauty of squash.

    it's not "pretty" to watch.

  • true... but its WAY wore fun to play

  • at 2:03 Cliff is playing John Ellis

  • Cliff Swain's insane shot 3:02..... WOW!

  • Is this the same as Squash or no?

  • no, squash has boundary lines a few inches off the ground

  • this is so intense wow

  • oh, my bad. at 2:00 it's cliff swain vs. sudsy monchik

  • yeah, it was either mitch williams - pretty sure it wasn't him - or cliff swain, since they're the best lefties I know.

  • no thats kane.

  • Who is kane playing at the 2 minute mark?

  • the guy who you think is kane isn't kane; i'm not sure who he is. But the guy he's versing is Sudsy.

  • actually, i think it's kane vs. jack huseck

  • Nah. I know one of the guys is Sudsy; the other guy I'm unsure about. I'm pretty sure it's not Kane though.

  • it's cliff swain

  • I don't think it's Cliff.

  • this is scary!

  • The court I play on seems significantly longer and wider than the ones shown here.

  • On a racquetball court? 20' x 40' It probably looks different from the angle of the camera

  • Actuall your wrong this game is 20 % power 30 % technique and 50 % hustle

  • This is coming from people who are experts at the game?

Kane Waselenchuk definitely has that '95%' in the least.

  • True anyone can play this game and have fun, but if you're retarded enough to think this game is simply about hitting the ball against the wall, I dare you to challenge anyone who actually knows how to semi-play. In fact, challenge a 9 year old girl who has played for a few months to a match. You're going to have a revelation pretty quick. Being good at this game is 5% hustle and 95% placement . The latter requires a tremendous amount of skill.

  • Good times. :)

  • Comment removed

  • i'm taking racquetball (class) right now and its not as bad as it looks. is it dangerous? No... depends on what exactly you're doing. On a good note- It's fun to play.

  • Yeah its really fun =D i played my first time yesterday ( not on a class ) and its cool :D

  • I wanna see you play one of them.

  • It takes a lot of racquet skill to hit a ball into the wall two inches off the ground. And I good eye for some of those ricochets. Even me, a seasoned tennis player, can see that.

Completely different games but unique skills with a racquet are required.

  • No strategy? Spoken like a true clueless callow. You think it's just hitting the ball hard? The court is the same dimension as a pool table, think angles. Watch the 1st rally. Jason is purposely hitting the ball at an angle off the front wall so it hits the side wall directly parallel to Sudsy AND the floor at almost the same time, making it the furthest away possible.. AND with just the right amount of speed so it dies before the back wall. 1 tiny fragment of the 180 mph chess game they play.

  • The whole reason - and I know I'm commenting on two of your posts at the same time - why racquetball has never taken off or received any big-name sponsors is because of how fast-paced the game is. It's so hard to keep track of a ball going at ~170mph. The court is small, so visibility is small.

Even with two glass walls it's still hard most of the time to see the match at the quality it deserves to be viewed at.

  • I was responding to someone who said "who really wants to play a game that lasts 3 hours?" referring to Squash. And almost all of my comments are in the context of comparing squash to racquetball. It's interesting that racquetball pros don't like glass... squash pros prefer the glass courts. I'm not familiar with how the racquetball ball actually handles glass though.

  • And this is at the expense of the players who have a hard time hitting the ball off of the glass, as opposed to a solid white wall.

  • hahaha man - all that work and then he fucks it up with a floor hit. Those dudes are good

  • It's takes a considerable amount of skill to play racquetball. And it's not dangerous if you know what you're doing.

  • and some cock later? faggot.

  • LOLLLLOLLL

  • If it's such a joke then don't watch the video. Go play your girlie ass sports. While you are at it, go burn in Hell.

  • I play competitive squash, racquetball in comparison would be a warm up.

  • I love to see you say that to Jason Mannino.

  • maybe because the only thing you do in squash is run. i mean, who really wants to play a game that lasts 3 hours?

  • 3 hours? Lopsided pro matches take less than 25 minutes, the longest matches are usually over hour and a half and under 2. Amateur matches are usually 20-30 minutes.

  • I hope you're not talking about racquetball here. Because I actually have DVD's of 2-hour long racquetball matches. The individual games are around 25 mins long, but the entire match comes close to 2 hours on 'ok-to-good' matches.

  • It's not dangerous. You just have to be aware of what's going on around you. Sometimes you will play someone who is kind of open and wild with movements, and oblivious of you, and you have to keep an extra close eye on them. But I have never been hurt playing racquetball, other than being nailed with the ball = pain and welt but no real injury. I would never play without goggles.

  • pussy

  • do they always rest that long after each rally?

  • Kane and Elise is a good Rally followed by an amazing diving re-kill from sudsy against Cliff's flat down the line. And then Ruben diving Kill to beat Guidry.

  • The Rally between Kane and John Elise was great! The Dive re-Kill Sudsy makes against Cliff's Flat down the line was Amazing!

  • Why do they dive so often? Even when the ball is only a few steps the dive seems to be the standard way of moving. I can't imagine that's good for the body in the long (or short) term.

  • thts cause the ball is going at 180 mph. so the reaction time plus getting there = the only way ucould get tht is diving.

  • Just like squash?

  • i just got home from playing racquet ball
