The lead singer was once a Doctor on a Pirate ship. He had a hook for a hand ..... and therefore you have Doctor Hook.

He eventually got a hand transplant and donated the hook to the Smithsonian Institute, if you visit you can see it on display.

Lol They just blow my mind! I truely love this song, but not on this video clip, their album is great! They are so stoned that you gotta laugh! They do have so much talent!!! I am glad that living back in the 1970"s on a small Island in Hawaii we only heard them on the radio, cause I don't think our parents would have allowed us to listen to their music,but they (our parents) would have listened or did listen! They just don't make em' like this anymore. Not only did they have great music but they always brought the show to town. If you left a show without laughing and having a great time you were just a stick in the mud. I wish there were still bands out there who had this much talent and fun spirits!

He wrote many for the Dr. Hook and then I started searching and found them here! We are enjoying listening to our favorites!
