I like the part where they drive straight in with the item too big to fit thru the door. (Like it's completely unfathomable to back in, turn 90 degrees, and swivel the item in). This is just plain silly. There is no advantage this thing has over my propane nissan, except that I wouldn't trust it with shit (which isn't really an advantage)
I guess the problem is that in full lock it rotates around the center of ALL wheels rather than around the the center of the front wheels which is what we are used to

Those "wheels" is if not a stupid invention then at least a redundant one - not to mention unnecessary complicated and expensive. Fer chrissakes, a simple shopping cart has been able to do sideways movement for how many years now?
And with that said, the MaxTruck2T "omnidirectional fork lift truck" is more likely the truck of the future. Do a search for it; videos are here on site.
That idea has real promise - but the Sidewinder is merely a parenthesis and a dead end.
if you watch real close in the new star trek movie, one of these is in the background right when kirk and bones are getting on the shuttle to go to the enterprise
that has to be the coolest forklift i have ever seen.....we have BT's at my job and the cab tilts back 45 degrees when u raise your forks past the 1st stage to take off neck strain....and theres a camera mounted to the inside of the left fork.....most user friendly piec of equipment ive ever used
It was a bit silly, yeah, especially with the old forklift, but it was also making a very strong point about transporting narrow things. this lift has a versatility that can't compare to forklifts, but the comparison will be made anyway because they look similar.
And I suspect that demo was meant to be humorous (which is was). "Oh jeez, I wonder if this ten foot door is big enough for this 40 foot load? oh, it's not? I'll just keep going in anyway!! durrrr" hahahaha
looks like its moonwalkin! lol

where you don't have space enough for a forklift, you shouldn't need one. This is a ridiculously useless although really cool invention..
12345askenwtf 2 years ago
i would rather use one of those forklifts its %100 battery operated so no more fumes in small spaces u can do every think a normal forklift cant
skunko144 2 years ago
I want one of these.
DarkZodiacZZ 2 years ago
This is absolutely amazing! Normally you'd need 2 forklifts to unload long loads from a 53' van. Now you only need 1.
