This music was almost picked by Hugh Hudson as a 'main theme' when he was filming 'Chariots of Fire'. But Vangelis insisted on writing something else, so he came up with the world famous 'Chariots-theme'. Still everyone agrees that this music would have worked just as good, as it seems to do with every possible imagery. It is after all wonderful music!

Are you sure about that?  I can't recall this being in it and Maurice Jarre is credited, not Vangelis.

This piece is 'L'enfant' from Vangelis' album 'L'Opera Sauvage'. It was used in the film 'Years of living dangerously, starring Mel Gibson. Chariots of fire, I was refferring to in my earlier comment was also composed by Vangelis. Maurice Jarre (or his son Jeam-Michel Jarre) was not involved (although both are also great composers!).

The song is l'enfant from Opera Sauvage. You may not be able to get that particular album now but try and get a copy of Vangelis Themes 1989. And enjoy
