  • Thumbs up if the Nostalgia Critic brought you here!

  • Looks like Yellow Submarine, except a little more trippy

  • I'm at a loss for words.

This trailer had me literally panting. Hunched over the desk, face inches from the screen, staring entranced, engrosed, captivated mesmerised, fidgeting from how sensational the thing I was seeing were.

    Unbelievable.

    This is the zenith.

  • The add i saw next to the video was for "The Secret of Kells". Witch is what I thought of when I first saw the Cobbler. (I diden't know about this film at all till I saw Nostalgia Critic).

  • You know since I was 6 or 7 years old, The Lion King was my favorite animated movie, until I saw The Thief and the Cobbler: The Recobbled Cut last year, and I can proudly say it's now my favorite animated of all time.

  • this movie looks trippy and cool

  • The animation alone is enough to elevate the miramax cut to a level just under tolerable, though it can't save all the bad decisions the bigwigs made in releasing it.

the recobbled cut made me cry, it was so gorgeous. here was a movie I grew up with, made so much better than I ever thought possible. It's INCREDIBLE. this movie influenced my sense of style and dreams when I was a kid, and the recobbled cut makes me love animation just that much more.

  • 0:36 looks like something from Silent Hill...

  • whats the name of the music playing during this trailer?

  • @woollybully100 This is from Scheherazade by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

  • @TheThiefArchive thank you

  • Garrett, I just wanted to say thank you for this. It's an incredible piece of work.

  • Hooray, we actually get to meet the Witch!

  • Just saw this movie, oh my god was it amazing.

  • this film is the deffinition of what makes animated movies so great

  • How fucking dare miramax

HOW FUCKING DARE THEY RUIN THIS MASTERPIECE

  • Damn shame that so many companies had to destroy this beautiful movie, I want to personally thank those responsible for making the "recobbled" version, you guys are wonderful.

  • This is one movie I remember vividly from my childhood that I had forgotten about until recently. While I don't remember much about it, I do remember that it was the best animation I had ever seen, and the scene with Yum-Yum in the bathtub. :)

It is a masterpiece, plain and simple.

  • Also visit the Recobbled Cut page on Facebook.

  • @TheThiefArchive thanks for all of the information on this (almost) lost classic by Richard Williams, absolutely loved this version a must see i think!

  • Simply extraordinary. I saw this movie as a child, and I remember that the animation was the best I've saw at the time. But this pales to comparison of that memory. The imagery is so stunning, it brings a joyful tear to my eye.

  • an absolute masterpiece in the true meaning of the word!

  • Take a close look kids; this isn't animation the right way.

This is animation the best way possible.

  • Kind of reminds me of when Blade Runner was released. Trying to decide which version will suit the audiences. If I was in charge of Miramax, I would of did the unthinkable & release a special collector's edition of this animated gem. That included all three versions & a special retrospective on it.

  • Thanks for uploading the trailer in in perfect quality and in 16x9! Can't wait for the high quality version of the full movie to be released on YouTube!

  • Beautiful trailer! This is one of the best animated movies EVER!

  • Wow, I forgot how wonderful this was. I can't wait for the high quality version of the full film.
