  • History is not a subject in which one can read multiple accounts and harmonize them. It is merely a writers opinion and typically propaganda. Archaeology does not prove anything either as there are many flaws in theories. Pharaoh Djedfra is a great example. Are you aware of how he was thought to have been a murderer and now they found out Augustus destroyed his pyramid, the grandest pyramid in Egypt and that he was a noble ruler? Before we found evidence he was non-existent for over 3000 years.

  • There is no historigraphical or archaeological evidence to prove you exist nor is there any for the majority of people who have lived.

  • In order to reconcile the two birth narratives and try to reach a historically sound position, I think a Christian would honestly have to forfeit the sanctity of the canonical Bible. They'd have to evaluate each canonical and apocryphal text based on their own personal judgements or based on experts they trust and understand.

The fact that virtually no Christians that I've met have expressed any concerns whatsoever for this issue is a big part of why I don't take their beliefs very seriously.

  • Welcome back. I always like your methodical dispassionate style.

  • well done Sir. outstanding!

  • Welcome back!!!

  • Glad you're back John!

  • Keep up the good work man!

  • @4:41, but I thought Mark didn't include a birth narrative?

  • @GodAImighty

You're right. I meant to point out that Mark, the first Gospel written, omits his birth story entirely. Seems I got ahead of myself, and yes, the Gnostic series will continue.

  • @QuestioProVerum

    Sweet, looking forward to it!

  • Will you be continuing your series on the gnostics?

  • Dude, I'm so glad you're back!, and hope all is well, if not, I hope things will get better. I'm very much looking forward to hearing more from you. I too have been still for quite some time, but that'll change soon. Ciao 4 now buddy!

  • Hey John,

Nice to see that you are well! So many stories, it is hard to tell what is Truth and what is Real!

My advice for anyone is to Trust that your eyes see, Trust what your ears hear.

The Truth will prevail in the end....There will be no darkness, no where for Lies to hide!

Keep searching for the Truth John.

    Peace

    Gordie

  • Welcome back. And good video

    All love from me Jasmine

  • welcome back, good to see you well.

  • Very glad to see you again. I hope you had satisfactory conclusions to your personal stuff.

The idea of the bible as an accurate historical document has been destroyed so many times it is absurd to even bring it up, although bring it up they will. The historical inaccuracies are Huge and great in number.
