  • what does that guy say to bales character when he is on the snese detection machine? Something like "what you feel can only be satisfied by falling yourself into her" ???

  • isnt it painfully obvious to this guys cleric partner that he is a sense offender? why does he not kill him?maybe with a man that high up you need stronger evidence.

  • The boss doesn't take the pill because that's his control.

  • BOMBS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN PLANTED, WILL BE SET OFF!

damn these guys ain't playing around!

  • 9:40. On the table.

  • hhmmm banging the table guess that does not count as feeling or emotion

  • The guy @ 2:41 kinda looks like Tony Hawk

  • Dude, what happened to the puppy? haha.

  • @brkngbnjmn14 It grew up to be a doctor

  • If Orwell, Huxley, and Bradbury could see this movie....

    Still a good film though.

  • IS the ANGER FEELING ?!?!?!?

  • @munjiza11 yes, when you feel like you wanna kill somebody!

    :-)

  • Who cares if that guy is feeling why don't all those sexy mens feels each otha so we have something sexy to jack off to?

  • what is the music when christian is talking with the voice of father

  • shit, christian bale looked might fine in this movie.

  • does anyone else wonder what happened to the puppy?

  • @nsb5Q322 I killed it.

  • You're my lawyer so I think you should know I've killed a lot of people. Some escort girls in an apartment uptown... uh... some homeless people maybe five or ten. Some man, some old faggot with a dog last week. I killed another girl... with a chainsaw... there was someone else there I don't remember, maybe a model, but sh- she's dead, too. And, uh- PAUL ALLEN. I killed Paul Allen with an axe. In the face. His body is dissolving in a bathtub in Hell's Kitchen.

  • @Romeobravohk He was allowed to feel in that one.

  • 7:17 he's so hot, he should be like a model for some watch company or something

  • isnt he feeling anger when he hits the table????

  • @mokponts watch the movie and find out he is actually feeling. He doesn't take the drug

  • The number of the bus at 4:15 was 23

  • i hate that bitch. god, she hooks up with sean bean AND chris bale.

  • satan's spawn, i command you to go back to hell

  • that kid is bullshit

  • lol. flop. flop. flop. when he pushed them it made me giggle for some reason.

  • I wish my kid would talk to me like that "shut up and go to sleep, its past your bedtime shorty!" without emotion of couse.

  • the kid: good night DAD = he feels to

  • I will re-double my efforts... ha ha ha you double your efforts, what is re-double?

  • @blondecat666 re·dou·ble (rē dub′əl) transitive verb redoubled -·bled, redoubling -·bling 1. a.to make twice as much or twice as great b.to make much greater; intensify: redouble your efforts 2.to make echo or reecho 3.to refold; double back 4.Archaic to repeat Origin: LME redoublen < MFr redoubler: see re- & double intransitive verb 1.to become twice as great or twice as much 2.to reecho 3.to turn backward, as on one's tracks
  • ... I think the real sociopaths stopped taking their dose.

  • @Namaechan

    whaaat?

  • "Goodnight Dad." 1st real clue his son was playing the game as well. 'Father' is a much colder issue that the term of endearment of "Dad".

    But that's just me. :/

  • @mooseasaurusrex Well, previously he'd called him "John" even not Dad or Father or anything so...

  • THis is a pretty dece movie I wonder y it only made 5.3 mil

  • animals dont have emotions, we should study dogs how they manage with life.

  • I have a death wish against that kid

  • 9 people dont feel

  • god i hate that kid. creeps me the fuck out

  • Pause at 8:41 and he looks mega-stoned. lol

    high on emotion.

and about the anger questions, i believe the guy has made his own exemption about emotion.

  • he was "feeling" the table right before he got cheesed and yelled, of coarse he feels

  • Dawdi the general sevenn's la lewis

    you a the man,

    the don

    with the plan

  • 'father' IS angry!!!!! why didn't the guards shoot him??

  • @atomichead777 That isn't Father. That's Mr. DuPont, the head councilman and Father's adviser. The guards don't shoot because showing anger or not DuPont is their superior and they're conditioned to follow orders. That, or they're in on it...

  • I love how the big bad and his lieutenant are both feeling. Gotta love it.

  • Does anybody realize that the guy who sneaks up behind the door and leads the resistance is at the begining listening to the propogana under guard?

  • I guess it takes someone with emotion to realize that a world with emotion is chaotic. Just guessing.

  • So this professor is our semi Faber (Fahrenheit 451) for Equilibrium.

  • well anger is the key to t3h war so yeah. prozium works on love, joy all that shit BUT anger

  • It's illegal to be sober, so you know the Government is warped from the ground up!

  • O'Brien!

  • So the big boss guy get to have all his emotion and everyone else don't.

  • FEELS YOUR SELF!!!

  • If they can't feel, why does the guy freak out at 5:00?

  • 4:57-5:06 wow!!! now if that is not emotion, than i don't know what is!!! O.O

  • i was thinking the opposite concept of this movie. what if the 1 theyre suppressing is their mind, not their heart?maybe it would be a ridiculously mindless sappy sensitive movie. lol

  • Typical, the sheeple are suppose to follow the law but the hypocritical Son is allowed to yell and bang his fist with no fear of retribution. This whole movie is an allegory I tell ya.

And the kid is getting on my nerves. I'm your fucking father BITCH quit questioning me!

  • if u listen and watch closely the son says thanks"Thanks Dad" when the son usually calls his dad by his first name... the son hasnt been taking his dose like he should

  • this movie has 2 people from prison brake mahone n link

  • whoa that guy at 1:45 was hotttt

  • Did he knock somebody down at 3:57? I saw someone's arm flaying

  • - gasp- This movie has the Fitch in it?! 10, 000 points for Equilibrium! But I might have to deduct 5, 000 points for the fact that it has taken the Cleric so long to figure out that one of their own is 'feeling'. As if they needed Bale to burst into tears and beat his breast right in front of them before they got a fucking clue. And another 5, 000 for the big boss yelling. WTF was that? He was practically the Hulk!

John's son calling him 'Dad' was cute, though. So 2, 500 points.

  • When the guards cock their guns after the guy freaked out, I wonder if their watching Prestin or the leader, who's clearly emotional.

  • This movie shows that any kind of tyranny could be pretty dangerous. And the next thing, we can`t live without emotions...Anyway, it`s a great movie.

  • 5:03; Hypocrite.

  • In the vice councilors study, theres a sculpture of a guy holding up the earth, isnt that the symbol for tyranny?

  • @jak5000 No thats the titan Atlas holding up the world as he was charged to by Zeus or somthing... Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

  • @jak5000 and PhendraAnthroz

Both correct. Atlas was charged by Zeus to carry the Earth as punishment for tyranny against the Olympian gods. The other Titans were punished differently and banished to elsewhere. So I assume Atlas holding the Earth could signify tyranny :)

  • @jak5000 It's a symbol of the boss guy's great 'burden' of keeping the world together when the whole planet is full of people who need to be controlled. Heavy is the head that wears the crown and all that crap.

  • I JUST CRIED IN MY PANTS!

  • 5:12, the vice-councillor dude seems pretty damn emotional.

  • yeah... that's for sure

  • the leader is an emo and he feels the rest of the world shouldn't have emotions because he hates himself. probably a gay rapist too lol.

  • wut how does the underground guy know about the ribbon, i bet they dont' even explain that part lol wtf

  • Don't fall for Preston......You'll only get burned! :) Bad joke, I know, but it had to be made!! XD

  • he became angry... i mean that boss thats a feeling!

  • it seems to me that all good emotion is gone....but the bad emotion is still existing....messed up.

  • ...that boss guy whatshisname looked quite angry back there interogating Preston.. isn't anger an emotion?? (destructive one even) That dude feeels!! xD

  • Yeah. Trying to remove feelings from people is kind of vane xD

  • @winter7night Remember the higher ups of such badass proportions dont give a shit about their own rules

  • @winter7night & HasayaFFXI: Of course he does. The leader of a socialist society doesn't need to follow the rules. He's in charge. That's how it is in any of these societies (think Animal Farm) @toby4700: How could any the underlings dare to accuse him? He'd just brush it off as trying to provoke emotion in Cleric Preston.

  • @winter7night

I think he was just trying to get a reaction.

  • @winter7night yeah i think the higher echelon of society were not required to take the prozium. that's why he feels.

  • @winter7night

The higher-ups in the government here were not on the drug. It is painfully obvious...

Kind of like how OUR governments do hypocritical shit. Yeah, like that!

  • @winter7night If you have waited till the end of the movie...he confesses (th boss guy) that he wasnt taking any

  • 2:39

  • isnt it funny that interrogator guy is trying to teach the world not to feel emotion but yet he expresses it all the time?

  • @jamaicanification

He feels emotion- it is evident in the final scenes between him and preston- when he begs for his life, saying he feels!

  • his whole room is decorative moreso that everyone elses homes and offices... rich reds and elaborate gold.... and so on... he feels and no one else can....

  • nice job controlling those emotions in front of the council, props

  • the son is the most emotionless character in the whole movie, and he's creepy as hell. Sweet jesus imagine if everyone pulled that off |D

  • Agreed. He makes Damian look like Mickey Mouse!

  • at first i thought the boss guy and some other clerics(inc bale) constantly showing anger was very contradictory, but ive come to realise that they only do it when questioning a sense offence suspect, so acting vexed must be an interrogation technique used to see if someone starts acting scared /emotional. obviously if youve watched the whole film u'll know(POSSIBLE SPOILER SO IF U AINT WATCHED IT ALL,, I WARNED YA !) which characters act THE MOST contradictory and why.

  • 1:24, "Welcome, to Diagon Alley"

  • this makes no sense, when the boos guy...w/e his name is, slams his hand on the dest, thats anger. AN EMOTION!?!? and earlier when he kills the guys to protect the puppy, when he flips the shotguns and shoots them in the faces, the third guy next to the car, shows fear. half this movie contradicts itself.

  • no its only extreme emotion it doesnt destroy all emotion...

  • they make it seem like it does rid you of all emotion, plus saying OH SHIT IM GOING TO FUCKING DIE, seems like a rather extreme emotion to me...

  • maybe its cuz hes like the top guy.. im barley on that part.

  • This movie makes me think of "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer." U got two of the biggest rebels posing behind enemy lines as some of the biggest anti-Underground ppl.

  • 8:17 - nice watch

  • I love how the underground is literally the underground xD

  • But of course! :)

  • lol ALEX MAHON XD

  • lol did u watch prison break?

  • Creepy son !

  • If i were the sons dad i would kick the snotty fricking crap out of him.

  • "Are you playing with me Cleric!?" Ummm thats anger.... Anger is an emotion, and that guy has some get out of cremation free card?

  • The ruling class is not subject to emotion control drugs. That's just to keep the masses under control.

  • i know throughout the whole movie everyones got emotions lol

  • lol

  • @HasayaFFXI : The Rich and Elite have always been exempt from obeying the rules. Been like that since the beginning of time.

  • @HasayaFFXI he is there leader. he can do what ever the hell he wants to do

  • @HasayaFFXI i remember thinkin the same thing...i think the upper echelon don't have to be on the drug? which is a contradiction to the entire movie since it is the upper echelon that instigate the wars...essentially, in this society, the only thing they're stopping is petty crimes.

  • @dendara100 Concerning that, the director supposedly said that the upper echelon being composed of sense offenders was intentional, as he felt that one thing tyrannical governments have in common is that they all break their own rules.

  • @HasayaFFXI He's in bed with the evil guy...that's why he is allowed to feel.

  • @HasayaFFXI He's really "Father," and he can exempt himself from the rules he imposes on everyone else. Just like Congress.

  • Isn't this obvious emotion? 5:01

  • if uve seen the whole movie u under stand what thats about

  • it is....later you will understand...

  • the kid is so freaking weird

  • it can be said without emotion but what gave it away is the " are you satisfied?"

and while asking him he gave him that look....also he never called him dad or father..but by his name i think :]

  • Yeah, he always called him John.

  • 5:02 because that was emotionless

  • is that tony haux??? cause he looks exactly like him (the dude with the blue shirt that is leading the resistance)

  • No,that's William Fichtner actually he plays in ''Prison Break''

  • check the credits... P11..

    haha

  • preston reminds me of jc denton from deus ex

  • i know, right? needs sunnies. at night time.

  • yay for deus ex! Sorry that was just a random fangirl outbreak, lol. Actually he doesn't really remind me of jc, his face looks a lot different I think, it may be his cold behavior but oh well. Actually the rebel leader who gets shot in the very first firefight (had a beard, later lays dead next to a cd player) reminded me so much of paul denton.

  • 'good night Dad'...that line proves that the kid is feelin'

  • still even though.. that line can be said without emotion

  • yeah, I mean, even today when you say goodnight to people, its just sort of habit with no real feeling behind it.

  • I wanna jump Christain Bale's Bones. He's so fucking sexy. He can sense offense me all night!!

  • ....XDD oh baby

  • please queue up;P

  • I don't like how that guy pounded the table and yelled. For someone emotionless, he seemed fairly angry. =/ Minor complaint.

  • you'll find out why near the end of the movie

  • yeah exactly

  • great movie

  • the so-called leaders were driven by their own emotions to create a world of apathy. why did did they create such drug to suppress emotions? becuase they believe emotions are responsible for humanity's chaos such as war and violence. they don't want such things to happen again. why? because they are afraid of it. which means, they suppress their emotions because they are afraid of chaos. yep, they have suppressed all emotions, EXCEPT FEAR...

  • Why didn´t they just set of the bombs, if their purpose would be won by human nature?

  • Than little boy is scaring me !

  • awesome pink...yeahh baby...............LOL

  • This film never quite gets itself right- all of the guys in the authoritative circles display emotion: "Are you playing with me!?" is a perfect example. They're not emotionless enough for it's own plot line.

  • he actually says that he feels at the end. you can never make someone devoid of emotion as well

  • exactly my thoughts man!that''are you playing with me?!...''is a clear display of anger!

  • Yup

  • Lol they are human you know, they can't not display emotion. Even if it is a movie, stop trying to point out it's minor flaws.

  • You'll notice how Dupont feels the desk, then shows an outburst of anger. Preston kept feeling things after he stopped taking his dose.

  • so...nobody above grounds just decided one day "hey wat the fuck im gonna look down"

  • sleeping sheep-le

the type of person who would look down would most likely be the type of person to be a sense offender

  • there drowns, besides, it's probally renforsed glass

  • i love how the son says, "night dad" cause earlier he called him john.........subtle hints like that make a movie.......

  • this movie is so cool. obviuosly its been inspired by 1984, brave new world, etc etc. but its still a good movie. and christian bale is the freakin man. i am gonna rent it out 2moro and watch it again

  • Duh. I mean really. Its inspired by a Brave New World and others. Don't call it a rip off. Praise it for what it is.

  • true... my 12th grade teacher showed this to us to show how its an adopted version of 1984 by george orwell

  • whos the chick toward the end sitting at the table here...she'd get done

  • she is the lover of his old partner that he had killed earlier in the movie without hesitation and now that he isnt taking the doses is regreting it and is showing that to the women

  • lolomg luke skywalker.

  • damn that kid is such a snitch

  • some people have mentioned the contradiction in which 'Father' shows emotions.

i think that the people in charge are flawed themselves; and they seek to eliminate human emotion in everyone else, therefore keeping control over everyone. they don't want to lose control.

ironic how an emotion (fear) was fueling this all along

  • hitler?

  • The movie never shows 'Father' or his 'voice' taking Prozium. He shows emotion, but is never questioned because of his position. I assumed, actually, that he doesn't take the drug.

  • That kids a punk. If I ever talked like that to my dad, I'd discover some amazing ways that human arms can bend

  • LMAO.

  • I've always ondered (at 5.02) why no one does anything when vice council bangs the table and shouts...in anger...

  • its because everyone knows that all of the ppl that are high in the government doesnt take proziam

If they did take proziam then the government would crumble
