@MrFluffy1979 - sadly not. Whilst this coaster started its life at Battersea Amusement Park (which hosted the Big Dipper that opened in 1951), the Jetstream was opened in 1974, and the first tubular steel coaster didn't exost until 1959.

my first coaster was also at Adventureland in Addison Il. The Italian Bobs, working my way up to the Super Italian Bobs. I am still trying to locate footage or pictures of this ride. I have only seen the brochure and it was from when I was very young, so cameras were klunky and not pictures were limited.
It's a conspiracy. Merlin Entertainments, owner of Alton Towers, bought shares in the demolition company Rhyl Town Council chose days before. Alton Towers saw Jetstream as a serious threat as a competitor.
OK, I'm going to own up......I LOVE pinfari coasters!! THERE! I've said it!
But,sadly, what this means is that my favourite rides are all closing down :((
Most of them are at seaside funfairs, and of these are closing.
Yes they're rough, tight, sometimes downwright nasty, but they have a character all of their own. Sort of tacky, in a good way!! And then,......maybe it's just me!! lol.
Jetstream was a part of the Festival Of Britain 1952 at Battersea, moved from Battersea to Manchester Bell Vue early 1960s, moved from Bell Vue Manchester mid 1970s when, Bell Vue closed, moved to Rhyl.
Wow, this is almost exactly like the Ripper at Thrill-Ville USA in Turner, Oregon. it used to be at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk but it was called the Jet Star II
Similar, but different companies. Ripper was a Jet Star 1 model by German company Schwarzkopf. This one is made by Pinfari and is, as I understand it, the only model Z64 coaster they built.
The first roller coaster I rode on was the Super Italian Bobs (Pinfari z64) at Adventureland in Addison, Illinois, It has been reloacted and in operation at 3 different parks since adventureland. The last park was Blue Diamond Park and it was named the Blue Diamond Streak, but the park closed in 2007. I just hope it was not scraped and reappears. It was the best ride.
well this coaster was part of The Festival of Britain May 1951

Like a much better (longer-higher) version of the old wildcat at the now-absent pleasureland, southport.
Gotta LOVE these old bone-shakers!!!

Oooh lovely, a Pinfari death machine. I haven't been on one yet(but I would like to try them), and see how rough they truly are.

I am not aware of any relocation...so perhaps they scrapped it?

Yes the councils responsible let us down badly. Long live the spirit of Rhyl!!

Reminds me a lot of the Wildcat @ Cedar Point
Theguyof93 3 years ago
Well, it is similar in layout, although I believe the Wildcat at CP uses individual themed cars, rather than a "train".
davidjellis 3 years ago
Yeah , that's right...I riden that coaster before. That why I felt there was a connection between the coasters

Nahh its gonna be Asda isn't it? They're moving the store from Kinmel Bay. They're basically doing up all that area.
