A lot of singers change their voice depending on whether they are singing acoustic or radio version. So if you hear the recorded version for the cd, it sounds different because they are using all electric instruments. With playing acoustic, they sing so as not to overpower the instruments, because they are much more mellow than the electrics. Hope that makes some kind of sense :)
