Well, I understand what the girl says. Does she speak the Queen's English? No. But her speaking is fine especially when she's not nervous. It's painful to hear this woman speak.
I don't mind that she has trouble articulating her thoughts - many intelligent people suffer from the same problem - but I do mind the awful immaturity in her answers. The questions weren't complicated or thought provoking - but they sure did reveal her degree of intelligence on important issues.

She's a black female in the entertainment industry - speak about an encounter with racism, how it still affects you, or give advice to upcoming black artists. Thomas Jefferson, one of our nation founding fathers, had a speech impediment and rarely spoke publicly b/c he was inarticulate. Your reasoning is flawed. In fact there are several thought disorders that would cause speech problems, particularly in expressing oneself in a coherent sentence, but would have no effect on a person's overall intelligence.

Yet he was extremely inarticulate. It would be bizarre to suggest Jefferson had a low measure of intelligence because of his verbal difficulties. There are a myriad of ways to communicate intelligence,not just linguistically.

Beyonce may be lacking in linguistic intelligence, but she may be gifted in several other areas of intelligence. Many people suffer from expressive language disorder---like myself--which is where you have what you want to say in your head but you are unable to put your thoughts into words., making one seem "unintelligent". You can't judge a person intelligence on words alone, many "smart" politicans screwed up as well as many other intelligent people. Articulation and intelligence are two completely different things. Thomas Jefferson and Albert Einstien could not articulate themselves well, but they were genius. Her lack of articulation doesn't expose her degree of intelligence. There are plenty of unatriculate intelligent people. There are plenty of articulate, yet unintelligent people.

Intelligence and articulation are two entirely different things. Just b/c a person can't articulate themselves well doesn't make him/her unintelligent. I knew this girl who stuttered and I was unable to make out anything she said half of the time, yet she was a straight A student, had an IQ of 136, was the captin of many school clubs, and was one of the most intelligent people I've ever met, but one would never know by hearing her speak.
