All the Mongolians born with this BLUE SPOT.After they reach 4 or 5 years this BLUE SPOT disappears. It is the mark of HEAVEN.Mongols say Mongolia is country of ETERNAL BLUE SKY :)
This birthmarks can be found in any race but mostly in Asian ppl. Sometimes they dissapear with age, but if they havent dissapear by the age of 12 (more or less) they're probably permanent. Latin american CAN be born with this birthmark and the more effective way to remove them is the medlite laser or laser for tattoo removal. They're not a risk for health.
It is shared by people from Asian, Native American and East African straction even if just one parent is one of them and the other is white or African. In Hungary 22% of the population has the Mongolian spot as descendants from the Huns who arrived 1,600 years ago. Among Mexicans it is over 50% (natives and mixed) Among Chinese, Japanese, Koreans it is over 90%.
no son los bebes de razas cruzadas... son los bebes asiaticos muchos mongoles turcos japonese chinos y sobre too koreanos.... por eso se llama marca mongol

i had heard of this spot from a mongolian i did not relise 74% of poeple are born with it, i was under the persumption as i was told that mongolians and Hungarians were born with it?. i was in a country called Krygyztan which is a mongolian race of people and there were alot of turks there and i found out that they decend from this part of the world
i think mongolian spot is really cool, my best friend is PURE Mongolian, and it means that they're great great great great great...ect grandchildren of Gengis khan! COOL i wish i had it!!!!
so called Mongolian spot is prevalent among east asians, mongolians, turks and native americans. however, it doesn't belong only to asians, but also in east africa it is observed at the rate of 90-95%. check the internet!
there is a scientific evidence that 74% of the world's population has blood ties or connection to Mongolian race. And this "blue/mongolian" spot is one of the evidences supporting this thesis. you can watch a video made by researchers on this site just search for mongolian blue spot
I'm Mongolian. People saying about that spot, it is stamp of pure blood derivation of Mongolia. Isn't it? The some nationality such as Korean and Turkish babies have like this spot but their spot looks different than us it like purple light blue and small, that's why people like to say it is "Mongolian spot".
Being chinese, its a shame my whole family, brother s,,sister ,cousins, nephews, neices all have or had this spot its an insult to me find out this has something to do with flat faced sheepherders .
yeah right, probably it was just some bruise and not the actual spot. We want nothing to do with the likes of you, rice-growing peasants with bad teeth.
@huhtolbot it's more likely that Koreans and Japanese were mongols to begin with long before mongolians had blue spots. One evidence is mongols never invaded Japan yet they are mongolian.
No, not all "mixed race babies" have Mongolian Spot. It comes from Mongolia, and a lot of Eastern Asian babies are born with it. It's rarer in babies in Europe, the Americas, and Africa, but it's not unheard of. It has nothing to do with "mixing races."
@Camilliusz That would make sense, because those who first settled in the Americas had originally migrated from Asia, thus Native Americans are the genetic descendants of Asians. Like people had commented before me, you find it all over the world; it all depends on genetic migrations of the past.
