  • fail...

    Gain 10

    Treble 10

and u have a feed back, nearly everytime

  • the sound at 0:22, is that feedback?

  • @jaqua524 no, thats a pitch harmonic

  • dude change that amp head to a peavey jsx and youl get feedback coming out of your guitar and your ass...instantly

  • Without doing a comparison between playing WITH feedback and playing WITHOUT feedback, this explanatory video is not very helpful in understanding feedback. It's hard to tell the difference between what noises he is making on his own, and what noises are caused by feedback. Might help if he bothered to talk.

  • Turn up the volume and turn down the suck!

  • Just turn the amp's volume all the way up..lol

  • I thought I'd learn something new, but I found out these things myself when I tried it for the first time..

  • I can do it just by looking at the guitar and amp!

  • lmfao the reason it didnt feed back well is because you kept playing notes..

  • You epicly fail in all of your videos.

  • Ace is the king of feedback!

  • am i crazy or did he just explain and do it, without tips?

  • why do you need such a classic head to play shitty metal i trade u my jcm2000

  • no vibrato, sound ass bad, u suck and what is the point of this video??

  • that was the shittiest feedback ive ever heard

  • u suck!!

  • The tip is: Have some good gain, turn ur amp up to 11, and stand right in front of it.

  • Who WOULDN'T want feedback? It's badass.

  • @btriona92 i know for me its like when Slayer is about to come on stage and Kerry or Jeff are just letting the amps wail out the high notes its awesome

  • Rest the guitar against the amp - body, neck, head, whatever - then start hitting it with your fist while dropping the tuning way down, then start finger harmonics on the resonant strings, yell through the pickups. Get an amp with a plate reverb then kick the bloody thing for some nice splish-splash sounds. Sky's the limit.

  • Turn the gain down a little and turn the master volume to full or until your legs flap uncontrollably, then you will know true sustain without the fizz.

just make sure your neighbourhood is not home

  • feedback happens because the pickups catch the sound coming from the amp and continuosly process the same signal and sends it back through the amp causing a high pitched squeal. i had a broadcasting class and we learned about feedback awhile back :)

  • @atari3200t why would i WANT feedback in a guitar?? O.o

  • @DescentFromHeaven because it can be used in a musical way. you just have to hit a musical note in the feedback instead of just noise like the dumbass in the video,

  • @DescentFromHeaven check out some of santana's and Gary Moore's stuff feedback used properly sounds awesome

  • You need more volume and more gain!

  • Bad feedback.

  • i have an ibanezjs1000 and the feedback is amazing

  • that was fucking retarded. exactly what did we learn here? that feedback should not be used lik that

  • @jimi20003230 what do i want feedback for?

  • Damn.... I should have done a search for "MUSICAL guitar-feedback".......... This is the kind of feedback that most guitarists try to avoid.

  • @gangtwanger why do i want guitar feedback? tht just sounds....... horrible.

  • Tried the f5 thing to skip the ad. Didn't work on my Compaq Presario, so I had to sit through the ad again. Scarred for life.

Man, I can get better feedback from my Hot Rod Dlx's clean-channel with an overdrive pedal (with low-output, vintage-style humbuckers no less). That Marshall should be screamin' right now, but it's not. So, what have I learned here?

  • That's feedback alright, just the wrong kind. Good try though!

  • my grandma can get better feedback than that!

  • Your Amp needs to be way louder.

  • lamest feedback ever

  • FBI Female Body Inspector

  • The feeback from the amp and everyone who had to sit throught this shitty video are ANGRY AT YOU FOR PLAYING GUITAR

  • wtf foo u and your fancy ass shit. all i get is feedback.

  • that's what happen when the amp is screaming in a nuclear fire and you let the strings go...

most of us(real metal players) hate that shit...

make a video to show how to get rid of it.. noob

  • @metalero19882 I'm a metal head, and I love feedback. But I also hate it when I'm playing spaces. Thus, noise suppression pedal. :D

  • @metalero19882 its your pickups and the connections inside the guitar that usually cause it, or if you have something that produces static on then that might do it too, a noise suppression pedal usually fixes it, or new pickups

  • his explanation fails

  • Press f5 to skip ad. Vote up so peeps can see.

  • @xXmoptop100Xx doesn't work now...

  • @xXmoptop100Xx it dont work

  • @xXmoptop100Xx yeah that didnt work for me D:

  • @xXmoptop100Xx there is no ad

  • while watching this i felt an urge to kick you!

  • at :30 he's like "where's the damn feedback already!?!?" lol.

  • all u are is sum guy that like to show off your skills so instead of havin tips have skill r something :)

  • Nice amp....sadly thats the only thing I liked about this video

  • epic fail :D

  • Thumbs up for FAILEDback

  • haa fail :L

  • Most of this video is useless

  • Wow, that was a pretty poor definition. Feedback is when the soundwaves from the amp hit the strings, causing them to vibrate even more, creating more sound, causing a cycle.

  • @ISS5731

isnt feed back when your pickups "pickup" what your amp is playing

    no sarcasm intended just asking

  • @13isaacz1 No, your pickups can not “pick up” sound> Pickups are just magnets that sense the strings vibrations, and translate that energy into sound (with the help of the amp and a bunch of other stuff i dont know about). Try screaming as loud as you can into your pickups... nothing. You have to make the strings vibrate to get any kind of sound.

  • @ISS5731 Pick ups pick up the song from speakers. Mainly Small Loudspeakers. Try it sometime.

  • @ISS5731 lol, you can scream through your pickups. Modest mouse does it.

  • FBI stands for Failed Bad Inc.

  • My transistor radio makes better feedback than this....

  • lol this isn't feedback .This is Failedback

  • deja vu.... but idc wat the say, thnx man. it sure helped :), God bless

  • This guy looks like gay

  • U2 HornedBee

  • @shercoogsherco What are you talking about? U2 is cool rock band.

  • fuck this video, if you want to see feedback watch jimi hendrix

  • feedback your ass!!! XAXAXAXAXAXA

  • i like how it takes him half the video just to get some feedback.

  • @CaramelMarshmallow tehir humbuckers give him a break.

  • first of all, think about the explanation you're gonna give, cuz you don't even know what you were going to say, second of all if you're gonna make feedback at low volume get a sustainer, if not, turn the fricking amp loud, btw you suck

  • Feedback is when the guitar string resonates at such a volume that the vibrating string's sound passes through the amplifier and (due to the resonance) vibrates the string further.

  • 'Feedback of your strings and notes resonates through the amp and gives you FEEDBACK'

Om man - i should av gone to them phisycs glasses :)

  • does that also work with a small marshall amp?

  • it takes long but it sounds good

  • veedmo - you hit it right on the nose. Play it loud.

    Muze42 - That's sustain your describing.

feedback occurs when a sound loop exists between an audio input (for example, a microphone or guitar pickup) and an audio output.

Ted Nugent was excellent at getting both effects at one time. Listen to his live recordings like, Stranglehold.

  • Feedback can be what people think and YOU SUCK

a Guitar feedback is the Guitar saying YOU SUCK

  • NIce feedback.

  • just by a sustainer/harmonizer

    install it

or buy custom guitars wth built in stuff

check out the jackson pc1 guitar(pc 4 phil collen of def leppard)

feed back with out feed back(wtf thats cool)

  • @liljimi321 That's is made with the sustainer special pickup. Fernandes has it in a lot of guitars

  • Don't cheat feedback, worship it!

  • you have never been on stage before. no way you can do a feedback outside of your own bedroom setting.

  • this guy forgot to mention that if your amp is a tube amp, it can blow up if the feedback is allowed to happen for a long period of time, unless theres a special part in it.

( i dont know the parts name but my dad does, im just some dumb 18 year old lol) almost all amps now days have it tho(unless your a beginner and your amp is 100bucks)

  • aaaaahhhhhhhhhh my ears!

  • Feedback is just annoying. Especially with flange on.

  • epic FEEDBACK FAIL

  • Feedback is when your guitar stops working

  • My 15 Watt Mini Amp gives me more feedback than his Marshall-stacks!

This Vid is crap an' waste of time!!

  • technically the amp's playing the high frequency of the feedback is so intense that it vibrates the string at the same frequency thus the amp plays that as well and it just oscillates from there, n.b. this all happens in a nanosecond

  • @xxNailFirexx not quite. that is, there are more sources. you can mute your strings and it still feeds back. it's because the wire wrapped around your pickups vibrates & the air pockets between the wires in your pickups can resonate (and the air pocket between the pickup and the pickup cover).

  • @numair23 u kno what, im not a electronics technician, so ill end it here before any1 else corrects me in a way beyond my intelligence

  • Yeah, great way to blow your amp pal. Like everybody else says, CRANK THE MOTHER FUCKER!!! Or just jack the reverb, not feedback, but my as well be happy with something

  • So where are the 'Tips' ?

  • my amp is old so it gives back some badass feedback when it gets turned up loud haha

  • This is just retarded

  • 'ill show you how'' lmao!! what a dick, dont post a vid unless u know what ur doin

  • Sound goes from strings, to pickups, to amp and is heard as sound, which is then picked up by the guitars pickups, and it goes on, and on and on....

  • i would prefer to know how to STOP feedback from coming out!

  • okay, nice work on the guitar but.... WTF thanks a lot for the TIPS ON HOW TO GET FEEDBACK!?!? learn how to title a video. this should be called: me getting feedback on electric guitar.

you gave no tips on how to do this what so ever

  • Lol, this guy sucks at using feedback!

  • srry for double comment but

you have the same exact guitar as me xD

  • your actually really good

    thnx for vid too.

  • 0:34 xD " fuck this shit aint working .... damn come on" that's what is goint thriugh his mind in that momment

  • Not to sound like a dick but that is just about the most pathetic demonstration of guitar feedback I have ever seen. lol K there I said it. I'm an asshole. You were spot on about your description of what feedback is mate but your actual examples of a guitar feeding back might make Jimi Henrix's great grandma wake in her grave, dig herself out, and come kick your ass for that unforgiveable semo. :-) Hey , I'm just saying.

  • Uh, no. Feedback is from the guitar pickups being close enough to the amplifier to pick the amp sounds up and recycle the noise from the amp back to the amp. Has nothing to do with the strings.

  • Uh, no. It has everything to do with the strings, that's why you can stop the strings vibrating and stop the feedback.

  • WRONG! The strings create the initial sound dipshit. If you play disney music into the pickups, you can make feedback. Ask any audio engineer about reality, fuckface.

  • Haha one person disagrees with you and you have to resort to swearing and name calling like a little baby.

Oh and your still wrong :) If guitar feedback has nothing to do with the strings why does stopping the strings from resonating stop the feedback? Total Fail!

  • What the fuck are you talking about dorknut? Epic comeback FAIL.

  • You should honestly become acquainted with scientific facts. They will save you from spilling your concentrated stupidity everywhere. Wipe your chin goofus.

  • Well indeed, I'm assuming all the hostility is because you cannot form an argument against me ;) (and no, cut/pasting wikipedia and then EDITING it to make it sound like you're vaguely right doesn't count)

So anyway if you still think you're right, why don't you answer my question, it's fairly simple after all :) Or could it just be that you are the one covered in your own drool?

  • Are you still talking? Christ you're fuckin dense. I shouldn't have to connect the dots for you retard. If you havent learned anything by your incessant reply doodles, you're never going to learn. You're fuct. I can't help you kid.

  • Here's what I said 4 days ago dipshit. If this wasnt good enough for you, nothing is. "Uh, no. Feedback is from the guitar pickups being close enough to the amplifier to pick the amp sounds up and recycle the noise from the amp back to the amp. Has nothing to do with the strings."

  • So, just because you don't understand, it doesn't mean I'm incorrect. (Which I'm not. I'm spot fucking on target.) Audio feedback does not occur in the strings and is not dependent upon strings, therefore any description of feedback sufficient enough for appeasement will not include the strings in the description. Take your pick from a wide variety of sources, if I'm not better than the numbnut in this video at describing feedback.

  • LOL!

3 replies and you STILL haven't answered my question!

"If guitar feedback has nothing to do with the strings why does stopping the strings from resonating stop the feedback? "

Now then, given that sound is not the input of guitar pickups (and since we are quoting wikipedia "A pickup device acts as a transducer that captures mechanical vibrations") your "explanation" is completely false so AGAIN I ask you to answer my question if you are SO SURE you are right ;)

  • I'm not interested in your stupid questions. I am right no matter how ignorant you are. Search this video and watch it. Guitar Lesson -- Feedback and Distortion.

Get feedback with strings muted and then go fuck yourself.

  • Watched the video, now I know why you are so confused! That is not Audio feedback, that is electromagnetic feedback. Simple fact is that to get Audio Feedback the strings have to vibrate.

So in conclusion, Audio Feedback = Vibrating strings.

  • I'm so proud of you for learning something, but once again you're fuckin retarded. Guitar feedback is guitar feedback. Can't wiggle your way out of being wrong and retarded buddy. Way too late for that.

  • Well if your saying that guitar pickups actually react to sound waves then you're the retard ;)

  • Dude, you're running straight uphill on rollerskates, making sh!t up and losing out 100% along the way.

  • I love how retro you are, avoid every simple point I make that proves you wrong and then swearing.. you remind me of when I was 5 year old ;)

Seriously though, why are you trying to tell me that guitar pickups react to sound waves? Because that is obviously wrong and everyone here knows it.

  • I realize you probably live in isolation in some broken Russian country where something you say matters at all to anyone, but not here dude. You don't make any sense and are a perfect snore to argue with. You resort to making shit up and waste people's time with nonsense.

I'm an audio engineer. I know what I'm talking about. Nobody knows what the fuck you're talking about except you.

  • You're an audio engineer and you don't even know the difference between Audio and Electromagnetic Feedback? That's so priceless it really is!

Oh and what exactly did I make up? That should be interesting to hear :)

  • Here you are at the bottom of your hill again with your trusty rollerskates on. Get ready to run as fast as you can and still slide backwards.

You try to persuade yourself into thinking you're moving forward, but words don't change your position. Once you're back at the bottom of the hill, you'll change the subject again.

    FAIL

  • Does that mean you couldn't find anything that I had actually made up, I guess so :P

  • Go ahead and delude yourself again, that always works. Delude yourself and keep replying with winky faces and smiley faces and tongue faces.

  • I really don't think I'm the deluded one, given that throughout this you haven't made 1 valid argument (where as I've made several). You also haven't been able to back up your stupid childish comments lol.

But since you like the faces so much ... :D :P :) ^_^

  • You're evasion of reality is disturbing. I'm done schooling you. If you're looking for an argument, go disagree with the "Lady Gaga Rules" people.

  • God you just keep getting funnier and funnier don't you. You avoid EVERY SINGLE ONE of my points and then call me evasive? Quite the hypocrit eh ? ;)

Can I infer from your last comment that you actually think "Lady Gaga Rules" then? I'm surprised then by your choice in music, I never would have had you down as a Gaga fan!

  • Yes, make incorrect inferences and sophmoric assumptions. That you are good at and free to do wildly.

  • Cheers :) although I doubt I'll get too wild.

I do wish I knew why you are so reluctant to admit that you made a mistake. Are you truly that much of a ... what's the word you Americans use ... douchebag?

  • I'm being an asshole about it, because I can. It's fun to be a prick and get people all riled up over nothing. I'll admit a mistake when I make one, but I really did mean feedback has nothing to do with the strings. It's a fact. Can the strings make a sound that is turned into feedback? Yes. Can feedback occur with no strings? Yes.

If you insist on continuing this topic, continue by yourself. Know a dead horse when you see one.

  • lol how can you say in one line "Can the strings make a sound that is turned into feedback? Yes" and in the very same paragraph say "feedback has nothing to do with the strings". Total contradiction right there haha.

Anyway all of this would be academic if it weren't for the fact that you specifically were talking about Audio Feedback, which , as I've proved, is impossible without strings, so you have made a mistake :)

But like you said, you're just being an asshole :)

  • Yes, being an asshole. The way you're defending this video makes me think you're the russian blockhead guy in the video.

In case number 1 of my examples, feedback has everything to do with the strings. In case number 2 (the raw feedback example) mentioning strings corelated to feedback is incompetant and naive.

Guitar feedback has many different causes. Noisy single coil electronics, playing the hi-hat with your guitar body, etc. Never define a building's structure by mentioning one material.

  • Well that's all well and good, but you can't deny that you specifically said Audio Feedback, which means that your wrong about it having nothing to do with strings. You can deflect all you want it doesn't change the facts! I mean now you're saying "Feedback has everything to do with strings", before it was "Feedback has nothing to do with strings". I think I've made my point ;)

Oh and do you keep labelling me as Russian because you actually think I am Russian, or is it another lame insult?

  • Comment removed

  • Grekster: it actually doesn't always stop just when you stop the sttrings cuz is like a circle from theamp to the mic from the mic to the amp that'S why it is called feedback but it has something to do with strings cuz you can handl the frequence through the floyd and STRINGS .

  • Audio feedback (also known as the Larsen effect after the Danish scientist, Søren Larsen, who first discovered its principles) is a kind of feedback which occurs when a sound loop exists between an audio input (a microphone or guitar pickup) and an audio output. In this example, a signal received by the pickup is amplified and passed out of the speaker. The sound from the speaker can then be received by the microphone again, amplified further, and then passed out through the loudspeaker again.

  • A whole quarter of this video is a massive case of being a failure. Feedback is simple and you still couldn't do it.

  • why do you learn us to make feedback when you cant even do it yourself

  • ha it took him ages to get the feedback

  • It doesnt even take that long!

All you have to do is move your guitar closer to the amp so your facing it then thats it! Feedback

  • I alway think of feedback as the amp talking to the guitarist like

"You turned up all of my gain, no you don't want to use it!?"

  • Here's a tip for creating feedback for you - SET IT FUCKING LOUD.

  • just need to put the gain to 10 and the volume doesnt have to be more than like 9 o*clock

  • @veedmo thats the right attitude =D

  • That was really good! Thanx for posting.

  • lol that was feed back allrite

  • Feedback is when your guitar resonates and gives you feedback!

  • Shit he's right! Feedback totally just that!

  • @Muze42 i laughed at your comment for like 10 minutes straight man :D

  • This guy doesnt teach anything. He cant even get feedback that well. Takes him forever cause he's trying to force it. Waste of amazing equipment right there.

  • Nice Marshall. Those are really nice amps. AC/DC's Angus Young plays with those kinds of amps.

  • o my fucking god please i can make a feedback in lees than 3 seconds this guy is an idiot

  • nice tip dude ... -_-'

  • its a shame they let fags like this have the money to buy nice equipment so they can pretend to be guitar players...PICK UP GUITAR HERO AT YOUR NEAREST VIDEO GAME STORE IF YOU WANNA PLAY ROCKSTAR

  • @jamesR2340 Guitar Hero won't teach you how to play guitar if that's what you're saying.

  • no you idiot, what i'm saying is guys like this go out and buy this nice equipment and they don't know anything about playing guitar. if they want to pretend to be rockstars i was suggesting that they buy guitar hero. omg guitar hero wouldn't teach you shit about playing guitar, even my drummer is smart enough to know that

  • It's a shame you don't know what I'm talking about, you retard. I didn't know what you meant. Oh, and good luck trying to be cool and saying you have a "drummer" because no one's gonna believe you. And, by the way, I heard you're getting married, who's the lucky guy?

  • i know exactly what your talking about, you thought i said that guitar queero makes you a better guitar player, but no it does not. and, by the way, i heard you like it up the ass, so wanna get married?

  • haha u won that one man lol

  • @jamesR2340 Agreed. I have a cheap amp and a decent guitar and I play better than this guy.

  • i love feedback and squeals and harmonics!

  • nah!! the microphones feedback is annoying

  • what a waste of time. i know how to get feedback no matter what distance i am from my amp.....minute of my life wasted

  • I love that sound.

  • he is gay... i would like to have this equipment to make REAL METAL with it

  • u suck
