On the final, I think Jenkins over powered Rhydians voice. But all the same, I think he is brilliant. But the way Dannii made him look so silly in those bright suits. Man if simon was his mentor he would have been better for sure.
Its really strange the pattern X Factor goes in. The ones the public votes to win hardly ever get anywhere but the runners up do! Look at JLS! They've got two singles out and an album coming up in november! Alexandra is only just catching up! I think Leona was the only one who was outshadowed by the runner up in the final.
His album outsold Leon's by more than 2 to 1, how did he not win, then again it may have worked out better for him. Leon is now on tour with Same Difference, he did well. Having said that I would recommend the Same Difference album, it's better than you might think
Actually 4:1 .:) Nearly 5:1. Rhydian has sold Double Platinum (600,000) by April 2009 and continues to sell, no discounts.Continues to sell as we speak, around 1k-2k (minimum) a week. Leon sold 130,000 and was discounted from Nov 2008...
Rhydian is an amazing singer and has an amazing career ahead of him and I wish him every sucess in the future :D I'm so dissapointed that he didn't win. However Simon and Louis have both said that the wrong person won last year and Rhydian's album has far outsold Leon's.
I'm going to see Rhydian's tour next year on the 17th May at Margate Winter Gardens and I actually can't wait! :D

Rhydian has something of a Wagnerian Rock side to him and could build on that.
There isn't a doubt that Rhydian should have won this. He was the only reason I watched the x factor last year - his voice sent shivers down my spine! He seemed so pretentious in the first audition because he was nervous (most likely) and from that moment on the x factor presentors made Rhydian out to be some kind of freak, until he and his viewers complained and set that straight... but unfortunately Dannii always hated him, she made that clear enough, and I think rhats why he didn't win

I think, maybe they 'picked' him out to be one of the ones people are meant to laugh at in the auditions, but over time they realised that actually hes a great singer and so put him through. Sadly though, the damage was already done as some people still think of the Rhyd in the early stages [I know of some people who do]. =(

I like leon and think he has a lovely voice but blah blah rhydian went on more of a journey than leon as he had to put up with the tabloids people dont think he went on a journey cos he delivered every week whereas leon started off crap

i hate rhydian... hes an amazing singer but he was very fake on the xfactor.. at the start he was bragging and exploding with arrogance saying he was going to win because he was the best... then in the live shows he just was soo humble and patronising to the jusges saying he hoped people would vote for him... becos dani knew nobody would like him 4 what he was...
I've met Rhydian, he is genuinely a really nice and humble bloke. He got a very bad edit on the programme to try and increase ratings, but luckily he managed to show that he was actually a decent guy.
With time you can see that Leon (who is very good) needed this time to develop. Rhydian frankly didn't. Rhydian has done the Gigs High class private clients etc. He is already a STAR! Rhydian was always going to get the record contract! Leon would I think have missed out! So it was a good result especially with SD also and their contract. A truly brilliant X Factor series MADE by Rhydian!!
What I don't understand is how Leon won over him! Rhydian was one of the only reasons I watched x factor last year, all his performances were spot on (besides maybe 'go west' which i thought was a bit strange) and his vocals were outstanding everytime - yet Leon still won (probably for the cute factor) and he doesn't seem to have done anything since!!!!!!!! Urgh it's so frustrating, the winners never do anything but runner-ups do!
I went to see the XFactor on tour at the Metro Arena and to be honest Rhydian was head and shoulders above the rest of the performers,in fact it should have been called the Rhydian show. Everyone knows you should have won the competition Rhydian mate. Best of luck with the album.

Leon only won because he pretended to be insecure and kept crying. That was a guaranteed vote winning strategy for the mums and young girls watching.
I think Austin will do well this year using exactly the same tactic.
