  • All such Schubert's treasures are greatly appreciated. Thank you, dear Barbara!

  • Ein Wunder. A music and a text, expressions of the utmost delicacy, which are not affected by time in their meaning. I listen to them as the first day, years ago.

  • @cyphicle Thank you for your comment :)

  • Thx for uploading this beautiful song - one of my favorites for >20 yrs. Also appreciate the German lyric and English translation you have compiled. (Personally, I prefer Hermann Prey's interpretation, also accompanied by Moore; but Dieskau's version is fine.)

  • Glad you enjoyed it :)

  • @gctlcda by the way:

    its a German Song

  • @Ruffydeanoob Danke schoen. Das wusste ich. :-)

  • thank "you" :) these are truth... by the way, I listened Fruhlingssehnsucht, whole day!...

  • Maravillosa interpretacion de D.F.Dieskau.

    Rayando en la excelencia.

Y el pianista G. Moore nos ofrece un acompañamiento soberbio como todas las suyas.

  • f-d's achievements cannot be overestimated. and his art culminates in this particular interpretation as schubert's lied oeuvre does. i have to listen to it over and over again to believe this enormous quality.

  • Thank you very much taking the time to comment. Much appreciated!

  • Although it is his final writing.

At last, he found hope in the life of despair. The pigeon named hope.

  • Actually, the pigeon is named 'longing'...quite a different thing.

  • What a way to say farewell to this world with a wonderful song. I remember that someone said that his goal in life is to do something wonderful and then die. Thanks for posting.

  • My goodness - Schubert certainly fulfilled his goal!! That is so interesting. Thank u for commenting:)

  • I just love this song, one of Schubert's last, if not the very last. Such a release after the rest of Schwanengesang.

  • Karen, I love it, too!!! I believe it was his last - unbelievable. Thanks for commenting:) -b xx

  • I think I read that DFD did 1,600 songs. It seems that you will be a busy lady for some time to come!

  • Hi Olia! I agree - I fell in love with these early collaborations of DFD & Gerald Moore. They were what introduced me to love of these songs. For some reason, these early recordings r not much on YT. Both musicians are wonderful to me:) Thank u so much for commenting!! -b xx
