  • @sketsuarez You need to build up forward speed first, to get the chest out. You do that by using a half breast stroke first.and then pulling your arms to your hips, bursting the body upwards.

  • Butterfly is my best stroke. I have been on swim team for 5 going into my 6th year. I love this stroke! I wanna be the next Phelps :)

  • At all of my swim meets my coach throws me in 13-14 boys 50 fly. I hate it and i have always struggled with the 2nd kick. After i did theese drills i could feel the difference. Thank you:) and im prob gonna keep my videos and times posted. My time so far is like a 35 but im workin on it:)

  • Going from a single kick to a double kick dropped my time since the beginning of the year. At the beginning of the season I was a 50 fly in 28, but now I swim a 25.3 :)

  • Im not much of a flyer but i swim IM and struggled with a second kick more than anyone i kno. I worked on putting a second kick into my fly for over a year befor it became natural but even if it is harder, more exhausting, and slower when you start, it will eventually make you faster

  • 50 butterfly time is 28 sec, idk if that is good, i was swimming for like 2 months as a high school sport

  • @aandreyyy1 yea that is pretty decent for someone who just startd. i had a couple people butterflyers on my hs team that swam for a whole year and were only about that fast

  • I sawa friend on facebook say that doing the butterfly makes you feel insane, high happy and empowered. I would love to do this swim style that seems so impossible. I have never been a super strong swimmer but I lvoe the water and can always use new workouts to help mix it up and sta interested...this is a good tool.

  • @iwustudent101 - Probably the first "famous" single kicker was Summer Sanders, 200 fly Olympic Champion. There have been many others as well.

  • I like the stretch cord idea. i have swallowed so much water trying this.

  • i should try that, cause at every swim meet my coach puts me in 11-12 girls 50 butterfly even though i hate it, its my worst stroke......... my time is 44 seconds, is that good? or what should i tryy? i might put a video of me doing it......

    I either don't see caterpie, metapod or butterfree here.. The narrator doesn't know butterfree as name of butterfly pokemon.
