  • that guy needs to take a rag to his upper lip

  • can you cool a pc with some booze?

  • the guy with the hat is a douche I want to punch him in the face.

  • iam a pc get me out of here

  • Just because something is inert doesn't mean it's safe to eat. What a dumbass.

  • how can a electric run when there is liquid inside

  • @omarlekphet Not all liquids conduct electricity. Oil doesn't so its safe to submerge.

  • @TheHornyHomunculus but how about the heat sink.

  • Now go to a lan party! Oh noes, the case weigh 50 kgs (110 LBS).. BAH

  • hm 1 question - when changing HW components - why not empty out the oil to a different container and then put ur hands in the aquarium ?

  • you know they aren't reliable when they use wikipedia as their source

  • @jordanthamanguy yeah but noone will sell fish

  • So if you can submerge a pc in mineral oil, does that mean that mineral oil can also be used as a liquid solution, for a water cooled pc (basically instead of the solution that you have to pour into a water cooling system, can you use mineral oil instead)?

    Thanks

  • @SlavjanA Distilled water conducts heat 6 times better than mineral water.

  • @HEN000y thanks for letting me know :)

  • @jordanthamanguy No the fish will die ;)

  • Lol the can't handle it @ 9:05

  • So what do I say to the cashier as to why I am buying so much mineral oil lol XD they are bound to ask

  • @A801506 Tell them that you're mom's stuck in the bath again and you need to help her out

  • That is AWESOME

  • I think there should be a pump that pumps around the oil into a container outside the aquarium for rapid cooling of the oil.

  • skip title to 0:45

  • hay its fready wong

  • Large man with hairy arms finds baby oil icky. Is this real life?

  • everything he is saying is irrelevant. 0.138k for oil vs 380 for copper? WOULD YOU RATHER ME PUMP COPPER LIQUID COPPER AROUND MY PC?

  • Comment removed

  • temps?????

  • put a fish in it lol mineral oil fish

  • A little hole in the HDD hahaha, I loved that

Damn those two are so noob :D

  • @ripkingpin huh?

  • shoulda put fake fish in it,

  • Oil replaces air not the copper....... And so what if its messy, if a hot chick covered in oil wanted to get it on you wouldnt cause shes messy? You got to cowboy up and dive into that shit..... not say eewww. We should revoke your man card

  • I'm sure that fish can swim there too :D

  • well, you dont have the problem of dust anymore huh?

  • the point to this is to have it run silently and have a really efficient way to cool it.... dumb asses....

  • we humans bringing computers into next level

  • what if you filled a reservoir with mineral oil.It should have the benefits of the oil-aquarium without the oil mess!

  • where is the end of the video? -_-

  • This is the dumbest idea I have ever heard. I honestly thought it was a joke when I first saw Oil Cooling. I mean... Da fuck? lol

  • put the machine inside mini refrigerator ......haha

  • Yay just what I wanted a computer that can't be moved.

  • without radiation, the oil will very slowly heat up if processors give off enough heat in a period of time

  • I didn't find this video helpful at all. I guess it would be helpful for someone who wanted to know what you guys don't like about oil, but for someone who actually wants to know "How to Build an Oil-Cooled Aquarium PC" (note: that's the title of this video) this video is useless. 4 minutes of complaining, 3 minutes of prep , fast motion during actual assembly, 20 seconds of footage after assembly with no close up of the finished PC, no temp comparison either. but then we get more complaining.

  • @MrNside I agree with you!

  • don't be so freindly with the flourinert as it can be harmful to breathe in and it's best not to let it contact your skin. Also be careful, it's common for a complete immersion system like this to fail because this shit can seep into capacitors and other components after a while and kill em. Evaporation is also a problem

  • in stead of submerging why dont you replace the conductive coolant in a watercoolingsys with oil that way no mess no danger of leak damage

  • geeze guys, when you don't wanna do something, you really go out of your way to show it. 90% of the video was trashing the concept and 10 percent of it was fast motion assembly with no explanations. some temp readings at the end might have been helpful

  • i want this for gettin goldy in there

  • interesting.

Next, they should try to submerge it with ddH2O.

  • and can i put my fish there ?

  • @kREWcs yeah, because fish can survive in fucking thick ass oxygen-less mother fucking oil. N00b!!!

  • these guys are lame

  • I wouldn't feel comfy dumping my computer parts into liquid and plugging it into the wall and turn it on while it's in that liquid.

    xD

  • @bernie23232323232323 Mineral oil is used to cool stepdown transformers.

  • @bernie23232323232323

But as they mentioned, the oil is non conductive, unlike water. ;P

  • @bernie23232323232323 Well its a good thing most people willing to do so are smart enough to have passed 9th grade science class and know that mineral oil is not a liquid. Although yes it would be pretty stupid to actually use your primary computer to do this.

  • @xxslayer66LMAO really mineral oil or LIQUID PETROLEUM is not a liquid what would you call it then a solid or a gas ? are you sure you passed the ninth grade DUMBASS!

  • @xxslayer66xx fucking hell youre a dumbass , oil is a liquid !

  • I'm pretty sure these guys are a bit misleading and they have to be doing it on purpose; They have to be smarter than that. The high heat transfer rate of copper is a given and note... they are still on the processors. But, instead of using air you would be using oil to cool off the copper. So what if it's messy? Are you the stereotypical girl or what? lol P.S. The oil is only flowing thru the heat sink by natural flow. Where as fans move the air. Gotta move the oil somehow. Bubbler?

  • @jgspeer13 you only need the fans to cool down the processor. When you got oil it will stay cool and you won't need to cool it down with fans...

  • @jgspeer13 It is still better to just get water-cooling equipment, attach the water block to the CPU, GPU, etc. and cool the water/coolant with a radiator. Oil is hard to move around efficiently, especially in a tank. You really need tubes to conduct hot liquid away from the computer and return cool liquid back properly.

And oil has about 1/3 the thermal conductivity of water. Not that water can be used for direct contact but this tells you why water is used in water-cooling, hence the name.

  • There's an easy way to to get fish in there. 2 aquariums. One inside the other :3 The outside aquarium is filled with water and fish. The inside one is completely 100% sealed and filled with mineral oil and your PC.

  • yeah compare it with copper, makes no sense

  • HAHAHA He's a funny looking guy that doesn't know anything about physics!!!!!!

Oil cooling is far superior and efficient because you simply have 100% contact with all the components of the pc because it is fully submerged!!! so it sucks every bit of heat from everywhere!!!! He doesn't like oil cooling because it is do it your self , and he is payed to promote water cooling...

  • Guys, it's cool to do this, but when you want to come back to air-cooled, how th eheck do you dry it back !?!

  • my only question is, can a goldfish survive in mineral oil?

  • If I could only find some fish that could live in that stuff I would build it.

  • Yeah guy, put sum fishies in ther 'cause it got like minerels and shit in it ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS ? Fish can't breathe in there ! Not sure they'll even swim because of the viscosity.

  • Think about it. Since fans that can hurt your fingers spin slowly, fish would probably stop moving entirely (but it probably depends on the fish).

  • 10:46 - another bad flashback to high school in Pennsylvania?

  • U forgot the fish

  • I was wandering what to do with all this extra KY.

  • Put some fish on aquarium.

  • can i use Sunflower oil, too?

  • i bet some dull cunt has used petrol or stuck the hard drive in the tank aswell

  • I wanna try this but what happen with the power button ?? :(

  • FUCK! I just fried my motherboard by using my leftover 5 gal drum of KY jelly! Urgh! Somebody help! Is there any thing that can resurrect it? :(

  • @CTSpecOps Your a moron

  • I'm assuming that like the hard drive, a disc drive could just be mounted on top, but could you like, put some LEDs or somethin in there for show? Also, where can I get this stuff?! Also, how much room is there? Like if I want to add another video card or RAM or something. I have a Gateway Fx6000 desktop, all stock, if that helps.

  • disappointing a case and radiator cost that much when it doesn't even have a place to hold your HD or dvd drive.

  • you guys talk waayy tooo muchh!!!!

  • this is fail temperatures are going to 150 celcius after couple of hours

  • @club4ghz you're a fucking idiot.. just stfu.. and dont cry like a bitch over me OWNing you.

  • @mrshzzit1 im hope you feel better now after 8 hours your peels go get them

  • would this work for an XBox 360, just curious.

  • @MyNameIsTrippE yes it should. but, it would prob leak out of the case so you would have to put it in an aquarium

  • @MyNameIsTrippE ironically i was just thinking that

  • "to see if full-on liquid immersion cooling will work better than air or water cooling." I guess I missed something

  • demineralized water is further dielectric if you want see fishes inner

  • If it evaporates, to clean it, cant you just leave it out of the tank for a while?

  • poor rats

  • Only mineral oil, because it's not conductive. And yes, it runs really cool.

  • @Napstergucio124 Not really. Going off of what this guy is saying, it's better than air, but probably not better than a true liquid cooling setup. Not only that, but you have to deal with the mess and it's expensive compared to a liquid setup where you just have to refill it every now and then.

  • so.... does it run cooler?

  • @osmodivs . . . yeah. whats up with that? This is only my second time watching a SYSTM video, and in both of them they didn't actually follow up with their results. What was the point in watching?

  • Put Vodka in, LOL, The pc goes mental and the monitor flashes different colours!!!

  • I want to see them drink mineral oil.

  • it cools it and prevents it from being stolen

  • @sonyboy97 Well me, If I can't steal something, breaking the crap out of it is always the last resort. Which is probably the same idea of every other thief.

  • soo use a copper to oil heatsink?

  • never gonna use a system like that

  • What the hell?

Is there a part-2 or something?

  • @GarrettBMXes am wondering the same thing :S

  • @t0p0l1eve4 Weird...

  • Holy $hit, Danvile, there is nothing out there except a walmart and a tractor supply store.

  • well how are you gonna move it then idiots one crack and ur pc is fucked with ur wallet

  • @CHfunnystuff Use bullet proof glass???

  • can u use a cd/dvd drive? or an usb port? is it suitable for gaming? cuz the most computers who need a good cooling is for gaming. now the games require a good cooling... cuz when triple clienting ;) it takes alott of my comp XD..

  • @badlama1412

Well its good for Quiet Compuiters but i think you can't overclock your PC with a oil cooling, i mean, the oil doesnt get cooled that well to keep the compuiter safe if you overclock it, UNLESS you put a pump with 1 tube which goes trough a radiator and gets back in the aquarium

  • Comment removed

  • oh wait! theres the video i saw!! they put it in this one, too!

  • i saw this on another site and it's AWESOME!!!

  • I wonder who was the first person to try this. And why the heck did they try that?

  • why doesnt it like fry?

  • @Recon9143 Mineral oil is a non-conductive liquid.. It's safe.

  • its called a frezer

  • hahaha these are they guy who said the antec skeleton is the worst case they've ever worked with hahaha

  • Nooh. Incomplete aquarium. Where are the robot-fishes?

  • You SIPHON out the oil before you work on it. What is you head in a box?

  • you should of removed the CPU fan

  • One question, can you use massage oil?

  • @losora92 :yeah..why not use massage oil?

  • I'm quite sure he should have worne gloves before dunking his hands in there.

  • Dude, I must try this with a future build LOL

  • wheres the rest of the video? What are the temperatures? How about an overclock? Fluid turbulence?

  • In theory, if you were to submerge your pc, would you still need a fan cooling the CPU?

  • How the hell can you use DVDs and USBs if u do that.

  • outside the tank

  • @700007123 that's easy

    you cant

  • @700007123 Wirelessly?

  • @700007123 Or externally?

  • Haha, you bunch of noobs. Next time make sure your power connector is clipped into your mobo.

  • Smart Gook

  • @GameRemix Why don't you fuck off ? Your racist comment and yourself are not welcome here. Your comment was very very uncalled for..Now sod off, and go play on Bebo again..

  • I know that this is a bullshit comment, it just was just on another hundred videos and was spreading fast so i added on :) And can you like make another video of this so like you can make a acuwall "PC" insted of gust sum stupid test that is a wast of money like you can make a case that looks like a "PC" case and add a heetsink and a fan so you can use it for days and days!!!!!

  • @need4speed402 What the fuck ?? I didn't understand a word you have written there...:-)

  • it was some stupid comment....i removed the comment

  • that stuf they are talking about on about 3:00 is fucking LCL like in evangelion.

  • @Maxaker67 I'm soo happy somebody else was thinking just like me XD

  • I want to breath that shit.

  • @Maxaker67 I see u don't fear death we don't think alike after all XD

  • Death? I wont die of breathing that if it is enriched with oxygen.

  • @Maxaker67 Oh I see then we are alike LOL, wonder if you can smoke it ? :>I

  • @Maxaker67 Hahaha, all we need now is Adam and a lot more research on controlling muscles artificially and we've got ourselves an Eva. We also need to rip down toyko and recreate the toyko in Neon Genesis. :) Fuck that would be cool. Apart from the Japs having a WMD, that's probably not a good thing.

  • SYSTM is awesome

  • was that HTPC worth it?

  • Yea it was, lets just say it was a fun thing to do that looks badass, its great when people ask about it too.

  • haha it does look badass, now im thinking about turning my old pc into this haha

  • I know this is off topic, but would you be so kind as you telling me your PC specs?

    Thanks!

  • You are comparing the thermal conductivities of cooper and oil.

Yes, cooper is higher, of course, but you are NOT removing it from the system. Instead, you are replacing the air with oil.

Oil has a good value of thermal conductivity divided by electrical condictivity AND it is liquid, which means it can touch pretty much every part of your system (more area = more heat transfered)

the problem is changing the oil or adding chemichal compounds to reduce electrical conductivity. Its a pain in the s

  • Cleaning mineral oil form a motherboard is EXTREMELY EASY!!! a 24oz can of Gunscrubber at any local gun dealer will strip the mineral oil off the motherboard in seconds and dry instantly. you will NEVER know it was in mineral oil. ALSO electric motor cleaner spray form Tower hobbies will do it as well. I have done it a few times actually, and feel free to check out my videos of my systems. from mineral oil systems to the only Air conditioned + Liquid cooled system on youtube, its on my channel

  • it`s sick why he can't use a normal cooler??LOL??Aquarium PC i dont wanna get a pc like this :P

  • If you want to know temps of machines look at other videos. They tend to be around 50 C CPU at 100% load. And about 60 C GPU 100% Load.

If you change the oil every so often you should be able to keep it from becoming conductive.

  • rats are not people motherfucker

  • Comment removed

  • what's the cpu and gpu temp after 2 hours of continuous use? And how long does the oil remain not conductive?

  • WTH...why didnt they show how much it "cooled" it? I watch 5 min of BS,4 min of assembly montage, 1 min of "there you have it". with no end temp!!!!! waste of time

  • i thought so

  • Was Patrick on Call for help, formerly on Tech TV before it sucked?Meaning G4 is trash

  • yeah he was

  • Yeah, Patrick is from the old days when Tech TV didn't suck balls and was all about content and not trendy hipsters. He was part of the Screen Savers program and introduced tech news in almost the same manner he does here. Still hasn't lost it.

  • could you use distilled water? i think i heard that its salt that makes the water conductive.

  • you cold but after a short time(minutes, days, weeks, ?) the water gets conductive i heard

  • No, you couldn't distilled water has less mineral content than regular water but it's still conductive, only pure H2O is nonconductive and you can't produce more than a few micrograms of it in a controlled laboratory atmosphere. Besides, every substance has a so called electric permitivity index (e), which depends on frequency; at 3GHz air (e=1) behaves different than water (e= little more tahn 1) and oil (e>>>1) so you'll end up with a blue screen of death.

  • has to be non conductive liquid. viscosity is negligible

  • stick your hand in it and you die

  • yes, that's true, but it would need to be covered. If anything were to get in the water, it would fry the computer.

  • all lyquids get conductive over time becouse of erosion of the metal, just use a normal watercooling kit :)

  • The real qustion here is what did u do with the CPU. i made one and it fried my computer with vege oil. So did u have to make any modafaicathions to make this work?

  • outside of increasing the4 noise with the addition of mamoth heat sinks and higher CFM fans. Its still cheeper then in the end as long as the parts can be on order for 10 years.

  • you're the guys that did that? you guys rock!

  • SYSTM or SYSTEM?

  • SYSTM. It's misspelled on purpose.

  • With the Zalman???

  • Well 5 stars i liked and i tried it on my pc xD And i added some fish figures ;)

  • where is the rest of the video?
